You can review the Aris vs Cerdric vids and make a point based on this. I've never seen a player of Aris level being dominated like this. Unless Cedric is on much higher level of skill than Aris all that talk about "stepping up" is nonsense.

But the right thing has been said. As long as a character is tournament legal theres nothing wrong with winning a tournament with it. There will be other tournaments to come.
 
Cedric I want you to know that I am in no way saying you are not good at calibur. I don't play this game, I don't like it, I don't think I ever will but I wanted to run it 'cause I knew there is a community for it but we really didn't have any majors going on in our area at all.

Regardless of all that, I think you're a very good player and I wouldn't take anything away from you - my only beef is that the character you play in my very honest opinion looks to be one of the most broken 3d fighting game characters of all time. ive played ttt with kim bong min and mdj, ive played t4 with mdj and jrlime, ive played t5 with mdj and beat his 5.0 steve in tourney, ive played t5dr with qudans and all these players have ALWAYS taken advantage of playing the best characters in the game they played. Up until now, I've never thought a character was more upsetting to have to watch OR play against. This is also coming from someone who played tekken 4 all the time vs Stringbean which at the time was imo the best defensive character ever to be in a 3d fighting game. I may not play your game, but I can easily see what is wrong with it. I can still very obviously tell you are great at soul calibur, but I do believe for you to keep up the kind of results you're getting with hilde but with another character you'd have a much harder time.

hilde has the safety of t4 steve with the damage potential of t5 steve

i dont mean to offend you, im very happy you all came out to my tournament and im happy we could atleast all get hype. just wanted to clarify my view on it.

also anyone telling any of the socal players to "step it up" needs to think about what theyre saying. its like youre forgetting socals soul calibur history. shauno, devil x, aris and tietyt have been repping high level play since sc2 days. dont ever try to discredit those people.

edit: tomahawk i was there for bebops hype, he is on some other shit and i love that nomatter what day it is at denjin he is going to be getting hype. even if im just sitting behind the counter and he wants a drink he gets hype. guy is a thug.
 
Well I don't see a need to argue. Once people get more experience against her I think things won't be as bad. Eventually it'll get nerfed either way, we'll just see if they nerf it so bad as to make her a sub par character.

This chart is still under conception. It changes every week due to debate and results. There is an other thread debating the TOP TIER issue. Actually here what french thinks :

also the button binding is what makes hilde bullshit... you can map multiple A's and B's, charge them and still have access to those A and B moves... that is how she can break throws and poke and bam a charge comes out of nowhere.

btw, button binding is fucking scrubby!!!

ps, did i mention button binding is fucking scrubby???
 
button binding doesn't allow you to use a regular A and B moves and still have a charge...It just allows you to break throws and charge more easily...but the binding does bring Hilde near that broken level.

uh... maybe i read wrong about hilde in the ban hilde threads as i dont play her and haven't even tried but the fact of the matter is you have access to A's and B's to break throws and whatnot while you are charging. That is what i meant about being bullshit on top of her existing bullshit... the game is meant to be played with 4 buttons A,B,K,G... not A,A+B,B+G,A,A,B,B,B+K,A+B+K,etc. Im mainly a tekken player but i've been around since sc2 and back in the days of evo2k3/2k4 button binding/multiple button mapping was banned and you are one of those console players who think the presets on the ps3/360 is how it is meant to be played, therefore quite simply put you don't know what the hell you are talking about.
