agA Discussion

Ok. Regular agA is a piece of cake on my stick. But I can't for the life of me get even one iagA. What are the requirements for this JF?

Wait. Never mind. I was propably too slow on the first A to G transition. Might be useful to someone.

Here's the method I use on my hitbox: for regular agA I use the plink method suggested in one of the videos in the first post of this thread.

But for iagA, I move my left hand over the action buttons, I slide my left index finger on A, and the moment I feel it has left the button surface I instantly do G and A with my right index and middle finger.

Claw style pad. No shoulder buttons necessary. 2 fingers (pointer, middle, then pointer again). The only thing I have to do is shift my middle finger to hit the block button (X on the ps3)

Been playin' this way forever. Never once had any issues with AGA.

Although for some reason I tend to drop it in combos a lot. Might be because I'm buffering it too soon?

Yeah, possibly that, or you're doing it too slow, but that way your iagA would come over the opponent.
I believe you are doing it quicker, so try to slow down your iagA a bit after doing the combo. The buffering system causes all of that imo. When I do it fast I may get the last A or absolutely nothing, when I wait for the previous move to end though or reach the ending part or when the opponent is some distance above me, I get it

1. Soul Project didn't think about the iaGA at all... they just give the regular aGA similar properties and more speed so the regular player didn't have to bleed in order to do the iaGA(which was a mandatory move to get wall splash and big RO in SC4); to me right now doing iaGA consistently just will give me the satisfaction of being one more on the list of players who achieved this.

2. I didn't think of any gimmicks to get easier inputs; I just practice and practice and practice the regular way with index in square tap cross with the thumb then index on square; most of my iaGA are using the buffering window of previous moves like 6K and after SCH k+BE which is very good in my oppinion.

3. My only headache is get nothing if you do real fast; I will try Nightblade method and maybe Shen Yuan solution (without the lube thing).

The only time I get iAGA instead of AGA is sheer luck. I still can't get the timing down very well. I'd say it's a 15% chance I get the JF version

Honestly, i AGA is a BIG deal.

Whiff punishment of it is way harder.
Also, the mental effect. when people see a normal aga they might press buttons because they may not recognise its AGA. but if you do iAGA, white flash puts fear into their head. their situation is more obvious.

And don't forget that iagA can break guard. Also coupled with run counter, iagA, and Clean Hit, I think the total damage is 60 or something.

So catch people stepping.

iagA misinput analysis:

hold A down and fail to realease soon enough before sliding to G, then sliding to A - results in a grab
inputs are specifically agA, yet only a single A comes out - input was either too slow or did not register for another reason(did not recognise G cancel perhaps?)
get AA after inputting agA - input was mushy and look more or less like AAB
input agA, but siegfried just twitches or blocks - holding down the G button for an extended period of time can cause this. to avoid this, always try for the cleanest input possible.

what inputs are ok for iagA?

a flat out raw, completely clean agA input with no holds.
a slightly dirtier version where agA is input, but the G button is held down for only just a split second

surprising how finicky the input of this move is, seeing as how easy it was to do in 4. at least now we know the reason why.

I usually get AA when the game doesn't register my G button when I'm clearly doing an ag slide. I don't know why the game does this.

I often get the twitch when I try it. I've actually found I'm more likely to successfully get non-i agA rather than a twitch if I wait just a little bit longer to hit G after the first A, though I don't have much of an idea why that would be.
