8WayRun.Com Updated to XenForo 1.1!

I've just finished upgrading our forum to XenForo 1.1! There are lots of new changes, so I figured I would make a new announcement thread to go over it all.

Before I get started though, I'm sure a lot of you are already wondering what happened to the dark skin. Well it's not gone permanently, I'm just waiting for an update to get issued for it and then it will return. Don't fret, it will be back in no time. In the meantime, there are a lot of changes of which you guys should be made aware.

The Return of Warnings/Infractions

For a while now, moderators have been complaining about the lack of good moderator tools in XenForo. Well this update brings back the point style goal keeping for infractions. If a user commits a violation of our terms of use, they will receive an infraction. Users who receive too many infractions in a short amount of time will have their accounts placed on probation where they will have restricted forum access. Extreme cases will be banned outright.​

User Ignoring

This is probably the most requested feature here at 8WayRun. Now, in addition to being able to "follow" other users, you can also mark them as ignored. If you ignore a user, all their posts on the forum will be hidden from you. You will not be forced to read their posts.​

Search Within Threads

Some threads get long! And sometimes its hard to find the relevant content. Now, if you are within a thread and you click on the search bar, the search options will include check boxes for "Search this thread only".​

But yea, hope to get that dark skin back soon, because it's dark and corrupt... like my soul.

 

IMO, the ignore feature is lame, but.. to each its own right? heheh :D
My eyes are itching btw >_- I might get pink-eye.. heheh

Bright white colors actually makes the CPU to pull more electricity & $

 

How come we can't ignore staff members? There are some that I do not want to EVER read w/e the hell it is that they type.

I also noticed that even though you are ignoring someone, you can still read their post if someone quotes it..so technically, you're still a little forced to read w/e it is that they're saying.

 

i honestly like this white color, much better then that shadow black where i couldnt read anything and just felt grim all around coming here.

Now, the forum has been ridiculously slow-loading today, and the alerts pop-up isn't loading. I'm guessing it's this.

I hope you noticed that you've been able to choose your style between "Flexile - Light" (what you're seeing right now) and "Flexile - Dark"? I'm just asking, because it would be shame if you have been using that other skin, that wasn't your liking, all this time.

Yes, we've been in the process of installing caching tools to speed up the website. Its now up and running and everything should be snappy now. Please inform me of any issues.

 

Ok. I was trying to find the "change skin" option for the longest time only to find this thread. We can't change it to black anymore?

My eyes hurt because of this color!

OMG Soul Calibur has invaded 8WR and filled it...with white. XD

 

*sigh* I can't ignore people. Stupid being an admin. On the other hand... people can't ignore me either!

Time to tinker with the infraction system I guess.

 

So that's why everything's white... that warped my fragile little mind a bit.

Is it just me or is the background all white on this site? If it is, I want it to go back to black, white is too bright on my eyes and text is harder to see. IMO

I like the white and yellow it's fresh and new. Very very bright.
