Good stuff, of these my favourites are the drunk chinese girl, the gray bearded Yoshi(i remember that, the mask-beard combination was very good), the masai princess, Mitsu gran visir, EdgeM general Custer and that black dude with a white hand painted have charisma. I liked a lot the make up of the clown with flying hearts and that Algol mask with the ace + moon stickers. The explorer girl is a cute idea. Oh,and the idea of santa Claus EM give laugh (in a positive way) maybe a day i try too to do a xmas warrior EM
Also good pics, ingame stages & lights are very nice, add atmosphere

MAYAN SOULS AND SWORDS

A playlist full of gold and eerie patterns, built with the CAS above...with a few bonus guests ;o)

kick back, relax and enjoy...

http://snack.to/t7p3yutr

works a lot better under google chrome apparently, all in 720p so a good connection / PC is required...if you experience issues viewing the playlist or don't have the time to watch its entirety, i'll try and embed the vids one by one here as well, which will give peeps the leisure to change resolution / view at your leisure...

one last tip, even if your PC/connection can't stand 720p vids, if you pause the vid and switch to 720p whenever you wanna see details, especially during intro and win stances, you get stills that look just as crisp as the in-game pics i usually post, and with a much richer choice of angles of course...

Voilà, hope you guys enjoy it !

Good to see your characters in action! The Mayans are all so good that I can't pick a favorite lol. Now you gotta make a Hernando Cortes CaS to pillage them all.

Thanks, Columbus is kinda acting as, though Cortes would be more historically accurate, thanks for pointing it out ;o)

My own personal favourite is Tupakan, the running gag of all those vids (for the many losses), because the elongated ears, pattern, face paint and sticker work make him look instantly very mayan...but yeah, i tried to imbue each and everyone of them with their own personality and avoid copy/pasting too many elements (if any ;o).

I really wanted to follow the same creative journey Chobek imagined creating his lost culture thread (the power of patterns and paint), and that gave me an excuse to do something else than nimals for a change...and reopen my thread for the 1000th times, albeit temporarily...

i'd still love to know why you love them so much, but it is okay if you just wanna enjoy them and not dissect them ;o)

now that is a mature and humble statement for your age for sure !
you put up a good fight nonetheless and i really enjoyed fighting you (and kept some of our best replays)

Like the mayans vs Le Bello, i respectfully decided not to publish them tho ;o)

I'll do a detailed review of my favorite, Balam, and make a few quick notes on the rest. Since they're all superior CaS, I really have to magnify the slightest faults to find anything to say. They're also good for similar reasons (aesthetically pleasing, creative use of special pieces, historically accurate, etc.) so I focus on what I feel can be improved. Consult the latest post on my gallery for my evaluation guidelines.

1. Balam (detailed review)
Aesthetics - the armor, cloth, and skin are evenly and tastefully distributed throughout the whole outfit while the varying colors (red helmet, green shoulders, gold armor, black skin), patterns (leopard, scales, floral, and geometric), and stickers (face tats, sun, and phoenix) make sure it doesn't look too much like a jumpsuit.

Creativity - Chinese helm + Roman ornament = Mayan goodness, and I don't even know what you did with the face tats.

Coherence - Midnight black skin is highly appropriate for dead, creepy civilizations (good artistic license, even if they were actually more brown than black). Flashy gold outfits, geometric prints, and animal prints typical of ancient South Americans. Flat shoulder plates are appropriately simple/crude for the time period.

2. Tupacan - Alotta subtle cultural context put into head, as you mentioned. I like Balam more though, mostly because he's just more obvious. Hell yeah, green shoes ftw. The iris ornament doesn't connect to the head as well as I would like though.

3. Quezacoatl - Headdress is both innovative and beautiful. Torso and lower body isn't quite as good. Priestesses usually wear more clothes. Fur trim gloves are too modern looking. Translucent fabrics on Elysium's footwear also anachronistic. Again, rainbow pattern doesn't look quite as natural on the feathers.

4. Machupichu - Appropriately super-sized for a king. Epic crown, as usual. Tiger lily armlets too fancy for the time period.
