Algol Matchup

I guess some things never change. Hope it isn't too easily applied.

also, when I clicked the video it went to an ad, so I went and did something in another tab and before i knew it the vid was over and i was forced to wait through the ad again. I suggest using a time stamp link because it bypasses the stupid video embedding. Like this > http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&list=PL7FED701288A6D1BD&v=DoZeVvsuaI8#t=7s

just right click the cursor on the timebar of the youtube video and you should be able to copy the link for that time

I'll be sure to do that next time.

A major issue i have been having with algol is spacing, i cant create any kind of space at all on him to get to midrange, he just catches with that (really fucking annoying as shit i want this move to die) 4b+k that will catch any kind of backstep I have, upclose i can barely do anything and algol will just walk all over me with 2A, 2K, and grabs. And if i try to sidestep he can just do something to catch my step, i feel as if he has an answer for just about anything and i can never get anywhere near midrange . really starting to piss me off >_>

Donutman - BE MORE MANLY. That's what we Sieg players do when we face ridiculous shit.

You basically have to keep Algol off balance or he will work his setups on you. Learn to Yomi.

If 4B+K is giving you that much trouble then it's not the matchup, it's you. The risk/reward on that move is always in your favor if you're not at like -38. If 2A, 2K and grabs are giving you that much trouble (his 2A is average, his 2K is quite a bit below average, as it has no tracking, and his throw range is among the worst, and his forward dash is average), then try 8King him or something. Check him with 3K. Learn to space him, he can't hurt you for sidestepping.

It's not the character who has answers to everything you do, it's your opponent being better than you.

Yeah, 4B+K is so gimmicky plus the recovery is so bad on it you can punish with anything u want.
If you are getting caught with 4B+K that much, it's not them, it's you.

guys can a few quick pointers on how to deal with Algol, this MU along with a few others is really frustrating...so scared to space because of 4A+B and anything I do even when I'm at + frames gets stuffed by 2A and I just fall victim to 22B pressure

You can punish a+b on whiff, just look for the animation. Algol takes a year to recover from it. Real easy to do, just stay at tip 33B range and sidewalk.

You can K algol out of q-flip on reaction.

Roll to algol's left to dodge qflip B. K will track you though, but so what?

GIng bubbles is worth it.

duck 6bbb, punish with wr A or standing 3B.

Learn to JG 22B and 22A on reaction.

Every algol player 2As after everything always. 8K err time

Don't forget 11K exists. Its negative on hit and 4K BE punishable on block. It also RO's to algol's right

NM can get out of throne/spikes vortex by stepping clockwise or with a+b. It blows up spikes, TCs grabs, and beats another teleport

theres more that I'm sure I'm forgetting
