After watching some of the latest tournaments of sc4 on youtube, I was left completely unimpressed. Spamming the same 4 moves over and over doesn't constitute a strategy, it means that you have given this game little to no thought at all and think you can get away with the same repeated moves over and over.

NOT WITH THIS GUY!!!

After watching a ton of them (very boring i might add) I was literally laughing out loud. All I could think was, "wow, you guys really suck".

Am I the only one who notices this?

It's completely possible that all I saw on youtube were noobs in tournaments. Fine.

Send a link to a video that you believe represents 2 players who you think are expert(whatever you wanna call it) and maybe I might change my mind.

Until then, I'm convinced that a truly worthy player of sc4 is in fact a lot less common than people think.

When I played Tekken, people were GOOD at Tekken. Or at least I felt like they were. I got my ass handed to me all the time. Or maybe I just sucked at Tekken, who knows.

I know your probably thinking that I'm some kind of pompuss asshole who thinks He's better than everyone else. Well, maybe your right. I went ahead and mentioned this to save you the trouble of doing so. Because lets face it, I'm a jerk

haha this post speaks volume's about your understanding of the game. the reason you dont see ppl using every move in the arsenal is because of something called punishment. these players are too good for most of shit to hit em and when its blocked its FREE DAMAGE they take. its better to stick with whats safe and more importantly what works.

now i'll agree that it can be somewhat boring to watch the same moves over and over but you do whatever you have to do to win. this isnt casual matches where nothing is on the line so win or lose doesnt matter. their playing for money and playing to win.

The money they're playing for isn't anything serious. It's more of a pride and bragging rights thing here. However, you can't say they're bad players unless you actually play against them.

No no, I think this should remain open because having a gathering point for ignorance is important. This helps us determine who can learn to alter their initial perceptions based on knowledge and who is just spouting off like they know shit, but don't.

TC, since you obviously think you're amazing, why don't you go play a few consistent tourney goers offline and see how well that works out for you? Unless you live literally in the middle of nowhere, i'm sure there's a couple around you.

TC, are you one of those people who is STILL trolling my Algol videos from over 2 years ago on youtube? cause it sounds like you'd do that

Im going to get my - 40 moves blocked just for the sake of utilizing my moveset. Shoutouts to punishing me with UB's

Who is TC, does this guy catch-me-slippin go by a different ID?

Anyway I think you should point out specific matches you thought were scruby. I am interested to know exactly where you're coming from. Post a FSAK vid.

And hell for a clear prospective why don't you post a Tekken vid you perceive as high level.

I agree that any char that be competitive by only using a roughly 5 moves as their core strat is BORING, it doesn't mean that it's low skilled.
I mean if you like watching juggles thinking that it is the sole representation of skill, then by all means leave this place and go join the tekken community (both community's average IQ would increase).

I mean i've heard people complain that sprinters are boring because all they do is move one leg forward at a time, hence they think the olympic class sprinters are all noobs, since they dont catch balls or slam dunk or hit a hole in one.

TC, seriously? Really? No fuckin kidding?

Top tourney players go for guaranteed damage. Without exception. Theres to much at stake to TRY to pull off a move that MIGHT work, only to find out that your opp choose a move thats faster not allowing you to pull off such a high gamble.

Its not your fault. You just dont know any better. If you watch ANY competative gaming tourny, you will find lots of simple stuff. That goes for shooters, fighters, etc! Theres usually tomuch on the line (rather it be money, bragging rights etc) to gamble on something that MIGHT not work.

Get educated BEFORE you make topics that make you look retarded!!

catch-me-slippin;
I'll put this in simple terms... not every move is good to use. In a tournament, you're not going to see people throw out random, unsafe moves in fear of getting punished. In fact, you're not really going to see that from any high level player. You see, your mentality is shared by many players online. You base skill on ridiculous standards, in example...

"RO's are scrubby!"
"Grabs are scrubby!"
"Overkilling means you're bad!"
"Really good moves that're safe and powerful shouldn't be used!"
And of course, your belief.

Now, I can understand that people may be bored of watching the game played at high level play or casual play. Everyone has their own tastes and opinions. However, saying we suck because we're playing incredibly smart and not risking anything by giving the opponent free damage is very scrubby. You see, a lot of casual players (like yourself) will not understand why more serious players use characters certain ways (since it's in discussion, using safe tools and minimal risks) because you lack knowledge in the overall game.

Unlike you, we understand the game. We understand the mechanics of the game, and we understand that more than half of a character's move set is complete garbage. If we followed this "code" of using unsafe, garbage moves, we'd all be pretty bad at this game.

Anyways, point is if you ever get into Soul Calibur competativley, you'll understand what we mean when I or someone else buries you into the ground with punishes because you lack the brain capacity for this game. At least we'll say that for now.

Youre the one who lost to his son so i wouldnt be talking

Catch-me-slippin' wanted attention, he better tell what he wants. Honestly, I want to fight him online to see if he's got potential or not. But, maybe I'll leave him be. Chances are, he's not gonna challenge anyone online and/or offline at least for some friendly matches.

lol omg this guys an idiot... dude are you serious? like 15 of the top players in the US were at that tourney... your unimpressed?? What the fuck have you ever done???

It does constitute a play-to-win strategy.

...it means that you have given this game little to no thought at all and think you can get away with the same repeated moves over and over.
Nope these ppl have put a lot of thought in it, done a lot of research, put them to the test, discover the top 4 moves per main character and share &/or exchange info on competitive sites such as this.

NOT WITH THIS GUY!!!
Or so you believe...

After watching a ton of them (very boring i might add) I was literally laughing out loud. All I could think was, "wow, you guys really suck".
After reading this piece of quote, my mind was engulfed by clouds of laughter and all I could think of is Man this casual player with an ego needs to go out and see the light very often and experience the pressure and heat from Soul Calibur tournaments.

Am I the only one who notices this?
You and probably some other casual players; usually the ones with egos.

Send a link to a video that you believe represents 2 players who you think are expert(whatever you wanna call it) and maybe I might change my mind.
http://www.youtube.com/user/Jaxelrod#p/u/0/AjmoRzXlJ6g, but I doubt you're too stubborn to change your mind.

From what you basically fantasize.

I know your probably thinking that I'm some kind of pompuss asshole who thinks He's better than everyone else. Well, maybe your right. I went ahead and mentioned this to save you the trouble of doing so. Because lets face it, I'm a jerk
Thanx for the noteworthy info about yourself but let me also add that based on how you post, itz likely that I assume that you're some kind of casual player with a huge ego who lacks good observation.

Vincent is right to call you a noob after all you do act like one. Maybe itz time for you to learn the walk-to-walk not talk-to-talk.
