Assasin's Creed III

What's wrong with the counter system? It's no longer a one-button-press kill so I actually like it. You have to use different moves on different enemies and can't just counter-kill everyone on the screen and actually adds some challenge.

Oh and if anyone is having trouble with the guys who block your attacks, just press the "break guard" button twice and it will put them on the ground. For the guys who block even that button you just have to block their attacks with the counter button and then press counter again to throw them off balance before the others will work.

Combat actually feels challenging in this game. In all the other AC's it was piss easy, infact my largest cause of dying in the oter AC's are falling to my death because of wrong inputs. In AC3 though, combat actually seems worthwile and at the same time, something you may want to sometime avoid rather than being a breeze because HERP MEDICINE.

Yeah but just like the older games counter still does not do much against skilled enemies. And I get bored in the fights just holding down b. Absolutely no reaction time needed anymore because it slows down everything. I think it is the opposite now. Now it is not a challenge for me. Half the time I can just run up a wall and reverse jump to air assassinate the guards.

It took me 9 hours to beat main story. Not all extras.

Oh and no more sprint? Now it is just normal run fast. Then again there is no point in sprinting anymore because running from enemies to escape is dumb now haha.

I love AC to death but gameplay wise this is my least favorite. As I said earlier though, the story is fantastic.

Defending the regulars from Barretts farm.....rage #2

The video game indusrty has renewed my faith that they can make good games. Loving every second of it

Combat is better. Its not really more challenging than prior games as you're still dealing with the same dumb enemy AI. Its less frustrating now because you're not dealing with so many dumb enemy types and designs. Health is gone and there aren't as many enemies that counter your counters (they're still there, just fewer in number). You'll still run into enemies that block everything you do, but they're much more manageable thanks to a couple new options in beating them (such as ranged weaponry). You really couldn't use the Hidden Gun in combat during Ezio's adventures like you can use the pistol in AC3.

I've been having trouble trying to do a walk-up double assassination like you could in AC2. Every time I try to assassinate with the Hidden Blades I only get one target instead of two. Its rather annoying.

Also Smoke Bombs are a lot less powerful here. You can no longer one-shot kill targets affected by smoke bombs anymore.

I've also noticed that the poison darts are the only ranged stealth option in this game. Every enemy gets tipped off if you use arrows/rope darts.

In order to level up Artisans you need to do their homestead quests, and after completing them they'll level up. If you're trying craft some better weapons or items, you'll have to wait until you get the actual crafters later in the game (you're mainly getting gatherers up until New York) and do their missions to open up a chance to craft new stuff.

Its stupid but the only ways to get a double is either an air or running assassination.

I still can't figure out how to attack on the move. There's supposed to be a way to do it, but I just haven't figured it out yet.

Also, I've decided that I hate the new notoriety system.

To assassinate on the move just keep holding forward while you hold own X/Square. Attacking on the move I have never heard of.

Since hitting Sequence 9, I now have access to the final two Homestead members and have finally, finally put to use crafting some of those recipes I've been holding onto since sequence 5. I now have access to a lot of interesting firearms, but I wondering what you guys think, assuming you have these.

I now have the the double holster and can dual-wield two pistols giving me at least two shots on the fly. I've purchased the double-barrel pistol, but I've also gotten a hold of the recipe - and crafted - the French Coated Pistol, another double-barrel which gives me four shots before reloading.

I also apparently acquired (though I don't know when) the Pitcairn-Putnam Pistol which seems to have some rather impressive stats for long-range attacks, but only two shots before reloading. I also have the English Pistol and the recipe for the Royal Navy Sea Pistol, but I can't craft it yet. Course, I also have the duckfoot pistol which is good for crowds.

As an aside, I highly recommend crafting the War Tomahawk as soon as possible. Its arguably the best tomahawk I've come across so far and can one-shot some low-end grunts. Its a little weak on the defensive side, but apparently does a better job at disarming a few enemies.

Anyone know how to select what pistol you want in the second holster? Whenever I selects a gun in the armory it only replaces the first pistol.

Chasing Charles Lee through Boston....RAGE #3!!!

Finished up the story mode last night. Stayed up waaayyy past my bedtime to do so......WORTH IT!!

Now I cant wait to go back through the story mode again on my normal profile and start doing all the things I skipped. I went through the whole story mode without buying a single weapon of any kind. I was just anxious to see what happened in the story. Very few games get me that involved in the story mode. AC games are for sure one of them, and this one didnt disapoint.

I did feel the AI is still kinda, well DUMB. All the AC games AI were like that. I can be standing point blank looking down the barrel of a musket, and have it miss. Even the bigger guys are pretty easy, I always just break the defense and go to town. They shouldve put different difficulty levels in this game.

There are some enviroment glitches and cut scene glitches. Climbing buildings sometimes is just weird. All of which I assume will be fixed in patches. But the good of the game out weighed the bad by a HUGE margin. Those are petty things really that were just more annoying rather than "game changing". I give AC3 9.5 out of 10

Its a bug. You're not supposed to be able to select or mix-match pistols. What's happening is that the game defaults your second holster firearm to the Putnam-Pitcairn Pistols. To reset it, you need to select the those pistols first, then select the ones you want.

Just got Lincoln's Sword (replica) crafted. Its even better than the War Tomahawk, looks pretty good too.
How do you get a second holster? I'm trying to get more assassin's at my disposal, but ranking them up is a bit of a pain.

Sequence 9 seems to be the earliest point you can do it. You need Ellen and the recipe to craft the dual-holster.

Just finished it and I gotta admit the ending was kinda........basic. Not quite on the same level of awfulness as Mass Effect 3 but still along the same lines, just not quite as bad.

What is Juno gonna do now that Desmond freed her? You know they gotta answer that and unless Desmond fathered a kid and the mom didn't tell him during his runaway years or he had a cousin or something then how are we gonna play as part of this bloodline? I know you could probably find a distant relative that shares the same ancestry but that would feel kinda weird after following Desmond and those close to him all this time.

So...Uh... Like my collection guys :D?
