Attacks you may not be using enough

What about 6A thats pretty underrated considering it does a counter hit and its good to get the bum rushers off you

yes i do underestimate it .. as it's i15 and -2 on block(so easy step/backstep/44B) on guard..but unusually short range for a "raph" move..so in that situation i usually 2A instead...nice to throw in once in a while.

:2::3::6::B: Nobody ever uses it, this move is a great opener also :2::A:+:B: is another good one it's so quick and has great range, both of them have great range, I barely see these moves online, these are my top moves, both unexpected. the only bad thing about them is that they're both really linear.

wait

everyone uses 236B

and 2A+B is stepable like hell

Oh...uhh well uhmm..yeah but hey when you do 236B following it with 2A+B is good deals a good amount of damage i usually do it when they are in the floor or when they aren't expecting a low so yea...well they both work out fine for me I use them all the time :D

hold on

2A+B is roll able to

you should back off when their on the ground

raphs oki is lame duck

Well it always hits for me I know that if you're to close and you use 2A=B to close it wont hit but it does hit try it, it always works for me 236B is my opening hit and I follow it with 2A+b

sigh...the original point of this thread was to highlight some good moves that people don't use and elaborate on their uses

seems like some people are now just saying "( insert random move) is good because i use it and it hits!"

I think every Raph player uses 236B in their game. and to be honest its not THAT great but yeah....

well ok ill elaborate on VE A

if you use it to catch step some times people will keep stepping thinking your going to VE B:B.
also train them to duck by doing the VE throw constantly.
i would say the risk reward on VE A is about even.
there are so many options you can do after VE A.

33KB-mid use this if they duck expecting a throw

throw- use if you trained them to block mid

A+B-again use if they duck

66A+B- your at massive + frames you might as well

2B+K-yes its a glitch, but it can stun combo!

VE A is so great for mind games

im actually using this more

it seems to space on block as well

ON 6A....

You gotta know what you're doing to use this....For example, Siggy's 3b? This just wont work because of the push back on block, but Raph's 6BB will punish this everytime.

It's okay at close range, but for most situations, and especially for punishment, just stick with 6BB. You want to use flashy cool moves that other Raphael's aren't using? 8A+B it up, trust me, this move keeps getting better and better for me, I can't tell you how many matches I've aGI'd a Maxi/Talim/Taki/Yoshi string and heard the guy on the mic say "WTF?!?" or something similar....LOVE IT.

Anyone seeing good usage for 3A? I LIKE this move....but I can't apply it too well...mostly as a tool for Yun Sung since Verticals are so dangerous vs that guy.

I used to use 3A in my weak Zasish advantage poke lag spam mainias where I'd spam a bunch of pokes until one got blocked, then I'd stop. But nah. By frames 2A is superior, the only advantage 3A has is it's mid. But nah. If you're really sure the other guy is going to either going to duck or step, and nothing else, I guess it's ok.

8A+B, in my experience, hasn't worked too well. Maybe if you figured out using that as the best move against specific moves would make this useful. It is definitely not something you'd usually want to just throw out, unless you're trying to be a dick to someone, haha.

I've heard a few people on the board say that this move (8A+B) was good, so I've been throwing it out willy-nilly recently...

meh

OMG I keep talking about 8A+B

Pendragonsfall is a superior player/raphael, and he's probably going off pure tournament/pro level experience, in which case I wouldn't bust it out much either.

Casual play? It's a close(CLOSE) RANGE anti pitbull, anti step tool that can be utilized to stop Maxi's/Talims/Taki's from pulling off their non-stop string of bullshit. I cannot tell you how many times this has worked for me.

Also, again, CLOSE range, it's anti step. Just watch out for TCing step moves like Amy's 33B...in which case if you're vsing Amy, you probably don't want to use Raphael anyway.

I might start using it a bit more, thanks for the input(all). By the way, what does the term "pitbull" mean in terms of fighting? When your being rushed down?

pitbull means rushdown - yeah

Also - the next time I hear someone say "Watch out for moves that TC" I'm gonna freak out...seriously...most moves that are GOOD in this game TC...honestly...you should always fear these moves...which is why I rarely use high moves (except 6BB for fast punishment)

AA strings, AB strings, AK strings, 4A's....plenty of characters have these, and most of them that I know of don't TC. It will catch plenty of things. Let's think of Taki and all her horizontal abusing crap. That and 4B under her highs during her PO spam bullshit, and you actually have some tools to get her off you.
