just because you are a good player does not necessarily mean you are an expert at anti-Maxi
I don't know if this is off topic or not and I am not trying to be offensive but my god this is the most questionable win I have ever seen. I agree with Krazyie here especially because of the two vids posted by KDZ with the Ivy and Setsuka matches.
Again i'm not trying to be offensive but from what I can tell there doesn't really seem to be inexperience in those vids. I can see both the Setsuka and Ivy players interrupting KDZ's Maxi in certain strings where Maxi can be interrupted. Yet in those same matches both the Ivy and Setsuka players get caught by the most basic Maxi tools.
This begs the question for me still somewhat of a newcomer to this community.....
Where are the best players in this game. The level of high level play in this game seems to be alot less intact than say any other fighting game like Tekken, SF, Blaz Blue, Guilty Gear, etc.
This is an honest question seeing how at when I attended NEC the quality of play was much different from what I have been seeing lately. Canada is strong, ATL is strong, I really wanna play Krayzie and Motempest offline etc. because I believe Cali is strong from the vids I have seen. People like Thugish-Pond strong.
Is it just me (asking top level players) or based on this Maxi win and vids are these players of lesser quality in terms of high level play.
I know this is gonna piss some people off but it's an honest question from the perspective of high level players.
nice warble wins again.
something_unique...lets just say i doubt KDZ had any difficulty at all winning this tourny, as he has won far larger ones with far crazier competition. it isn't hard to beat maxi. it is very hard to beat KDZ though. i doubt he was even challenged at all or he would have used someone else.
I cannot speak for every one, but a good portion of MA players don't play as often (as in, maybe once a week) as people like KDZ and crew, so we don't see as much/play as competitively.
Sometimes the person will beat you before the character will. Some will sit next to KDZ and figure they have already lost but will just try. Probably sit next to his Maxi and think he's gonna do some crazy shit. . . there are a lot of factors but like everyone says, " A win is a Win"
Sometimes the person will beat you before the character will.
I get the impression that it's what happened...
If they hadn't known who was playing Maxi, if they had thought that it was just some random button mashing scrub, they would have slaughtered him.
I'm not trying to insult KDZ... ...I insult his Maxi.
What a disappointment... He didn't do anything out of the ordinary. He did nothing as a player. He just learned a few simple strings, a few moves, learned how to PSL randomly to impress the masses that can't tell a button masher from a good Maxi player, practised for 5 hours, and then his NAME (and reputation) alone did the rest.
(Ivy vs. Maxi, 0:31. He shows to everyone that he's a generic button masher.)
It's not a special day for Maxi players. It's a spit in the face. Now people have even more of a reason to call us button mashers.
