Do you do the circles, dash, and then A+G or do you have to do part of the circles, dash, and then finish the circles with A+G?

Nice video.

Yes you could do this in SC2 (seems like even longer buffer windows back then).

Yea SC5 notation was pretty inflexible in comparison.

Ok--I think I just learned something with iSS: I don't believe Ivy can do SS while she is in WP (at least not yet anyway--that is until one of you clever players figures it out ;-) ). Speed of the buffer isn't the problem for iSS. I'm using the same lightning buffer I had in SC2 and SC3, and iSS was only coming out for me while Ivy was standing (and not after WP moves). But then on Saturday, I iSSed someone after 2A, and I remembered that I did it quite a few times during the test play as well. But then there have also been times I KNOW my buffer was fast enough (after doing the move for over 10 years speed and accuracy are not the problem for me), but I wasn't getting anything--not even regular SS.

I just figured out that my buffer is too fast. iSS--SS will not fire (pardon the pun) until the WP returns to SW. So it would seem if you buffer during WP state, her command throws aren't coming. However, if you buffer just as the WP returns, while it still has the purple glow, then iSS comes out. I just tested 2A~iSS, 6A~iSS, 4A~SS, B6~iSS, and AA~iSS (the hardest of the bunch for me), and I was pretty successful at getting iSS to fire right away and pretty regularly. Maybe some one else can also test to confirm my theory. I would continue to do it, but my thumb is bloody, shredded, and swollen (no one told me the PS4 controller was so beveled).
I'll test this later today.

I was able to consistantly get the fire off on the calamity symphony but i don't think it does anything. I set the bot to do it and they were able to break it with a,b, or k.

It's just a glitch. You can add flames to lots of moves, including 2A+G (looks funny!)

Ok--more iSS test info.: to get iSS reliably, you just have to buffer as Ivy finishes her move--but not too soon. For example, to get A~iSS, just buffer as the tip of the SW animation reaches the other side of her body and be sure to hit 1A+G just as she returns the SW to her normal stance. In fact, just do that for every move and you can get iSS to roar out at any time you need it to. Here is an interesting thing: if you buffer the input too quickly, for some odd reason, 2A+G comes out--not a normal throw animation. I'm not sure why that is, but it does. So you can try an uber fast iSS, but if it fails, 2A+G comes out. Your opponent won't know that you just missed an attempt at iSS--he will just think that you're trying to use one of her best moves.

So I just wanted to double check, to get iSS and iCS you have to input all the directions cleanly and within a certain time window correct? Can anyone tell me what the frame window is to get it all in?

Not exactly, iCS and iSS are combination of both speed and precise input. You have to do it fast enough (but the frame window is quite long, nowhere near as strict as in SC2/3) AND press 1:A+G or 6:A+G at the same time. The latter one is more important, so focus on that.

Ah okay, so "sticking the landing" on the final input at the end of the command for both throws is important, I see. I'll guess I'll just have to play around and see what the frame window is, but many thanks.

I'm sure people already know this (Ring does for sure), but you can input the first part of CS or SS and then run up and finish the execution. Pretty neat, I didn't play SCV Ivy that much but you could only do that with SS in SCIV (to my knowledge anyway).

I am still baffled at how easy and lenient the inputs are for both of these throws.

Yeah the CS input window is so wide ~ it's ridiculous
And in perfect contrast the iCS window is waaaaay to small xD
Also dunno if this question is answered already, but iCS depends on speed.

The mechanics were even more lenient in SC2, believe it or not.
However, the properties were def weaker (no UB SS, CS is slower, etc...)

Still can't complain. SC6 is just a solid game + Ivy is better than ever.

As a matter of pride as a d-pad user, I want to learn how to do ICS. I can do regular CS fairly well on d-pad (both left and right side)... but I'd like to learn all I can first.

I am about ready to throw my controller out of the window along with my system and television. I have been practicing iCS for about an hour now, and the move has come out probably 20-25 times (probably more)--AND I CAN'T FIGURE OUT WHY!!!!

Does anyone have this move down to the point where he or she can reliably execute it--like at least 60% of the time. If so, then could you please write up a brief description of the timing. What frustrates me is that the move has come out more for me today in a short period of time than ever before--but I actually slowed my inputs to get iCS, and I actually have MORE inputs for when I have been executing iCS. WTF is going on with this jackass move?

It's just pressing 6:A+G at the same time. There is a 2-3 frame window for that. iSS works the exact same way.

I saw you and others say that earlier in the thread. When you say a 2-3 frame window, you mean from 1 to 6--or something else? I'm just trying to get a better feel for the timing. I've had the throw come out a crazy number of times for me the last two days (in practice mode). Sometimes I can get it to come out 4-5 times in a row. But the exact circumstances and conditions of why the throw executes elude me still...
