Oh Ivy definitely has some lengthy combo but they are linked to her BE which seems like a huge (lovable) nerf.
Oh, right, I forgot about that.. I think the best I've seen her do is WR {B}.B 9A+B BE 2B+K (I don't know the input for it now, but it was WP 2B+K in IV), but the 2B+K is side-ukemi escapable.
 
I didn't say that Tira is a garbage.
All i'm saying is that com pair to the other characters i found less good stuff for her to almost everything.
It will be very frustrating to see for example Dampierre (for me is a joke character and annoying, sorry for the fans) more competitive character than Tira in the game.It's like Dan in Street Fighter to be better than other characters who deserves that.
Anyway.....my opinion from all the vids up until now Tira is the worst character from the others. :(
She wants more moves, and especially effective moves, better control to her mood changes and lost health must be gone completely imo.
A stance will be great because stances for characters has show us in all the Soul series are effective and gives us more mix up game see Tira in Soul Calibur III AE.More flow to her moves and more mix ups.
Also about her speed.
The speed may change for Tira but also change for all the other characters too.Because the game speed change not Tira's only.
Because the AA changed animation and now it has better recovery doesn't mean that they changed Tira's speed.
Anyhow i'm looking forward for the last version to see Tira how could be.Like i said they have plenty of time to fix/add/work things for her gameplay.

Tira is a very great fighter in SC5... Deffinately one of the best fighters in SC5.

Theres nothing wrong with Tira, it's simply the fact that the people playing as Tira sucks with her....

Half the people that played as Tira knew nothing about her.... not even her combos. They are making Tira look like she is weak,

but in reality Tira is one of the most powerful fighters in SC5.... especially when you actually learn her moves, combos frame advantages and gameplay.

Some people don't know anything about Tira and some people know little about her...

Take these videos for example: The guy in the 1st video knows a little about Tira's moves, combos and how she works....


If the dude in the video above knew only a little about Tira and he was pulling off combos like that with her and showing little of her gameplay........ Imagen what a pro can do with her...

And here is a example video of someone who sucks with Tira and knows nothing about her moves, combos, frame advantges or even gameplay:

BTW try to remember that this is not the final Tira and that this is only the demo version of her...

But even demo Tira is looking awsome... XD

Well either way we're gonna get a great Tira. 11B is a great move to catch the rollers and has potential to be alot of combo enders. January needs to hurry up, I'm gonna be the best Tira on the East Coast (US)

But no, it's just a bunch of people that know nothing about Tira's moves, combos, frame advantages and gameplay.

I know they updated Tira, but she can still do all her combos and moves like before in the earlier demo version of SC5....... but thanks though..
 
Well, in their defense, as you stated, they moved the moves around. It would take a while to adjust and they're not given time to practice, that I know of. They're just thrown into matches with friends/randoms. It might be slightly easier for us to catch on 'cause we've been stalking the forums looking at the new inputs, but it would still take a while to put it all together and pull off the combos.

Like me, if I were at the recent event, I'd be fishing for a GL 2A+B counter so I could see if 11{B} would connect, etc. I know they didn't, and they were mashing, but.. Y'know.

The only thing I hate about tourneys is that you might play a build that you may like and then once you get the finished version you are like "WTF IS THIS?!" Hopefully 11 {B} connects in the end (Lmao we're still talking about this matter)

That is so very true....

It's going to take me while to relearn a lot of Tira's moves and learn the uses for them.....

You know Tira's GL A+B [0:50] (SCIV's GL A+K)?? Imo I think you can do her CE [if you have meter] or 11B [when you have no meter] for some damage!
 
At what time does A+B hit??

Edit: I watched it and only saw it blocked, but the fact that it was blocked is amazing enough. Depending on what it does on hit now, 11B or CE might work. Does Gloomy CE pick up the enemy like it should, or does it just do the four quick hits?

We're talking about Tira's GI when she hops on the opponent and slice's their neck right?
 
when the game comes out it will be great, all of us will be able to contribute our findings on combos,tech traps etc

That's going to be awsome... aside from that, I can't wait to see what Tira does in story mode, let alone, swing that awsome ring blade of hers.... ^.^

Oh, that's B+K in SC4, and I think it's the same now. I thought you meant the A+B headbutt to change states. In SC4, it knocked them down, stunned if in the air. SC4's B+K.B might work with 11B. (I don't know if it's in/the input for it) B+K(wall hit)B A+B 11B (hold?) would likely be a good combo. :)

Well, I'm pretty sure they'd get up, but yeah, that would be a good mind game trap right there. I'd assume a lot of people, online at least, would still block low. Though I've noticed if they're just guarding, they have a short amount of time to stand up straight with the Critical Edge. Like, they'll be low guarding during the animation, but they're guarding normal when it actually would hit. I think 11B would be better 'cause it gives less notice.

Agreed, the game is faster pased so i am seeing more offense and safety for all characters. While JG and the meter will play a role in cracking defense and also balance the offense with high damage CEs.
Since its faster pased all characters will seem more fast.

I'd say Ivy or Hilde would be worst. Her HP drain is barely there, very, very little reason to complain there. She's a lot faster than in IV, but she's been increased slightly more than most of the others.

yeah i am actually suprised by this considering the fact that not much gameplay has been shown compared to other characters so this just proves that they are working VERY hard to make tira better and more easy to learn. All characters have been buffed though in their respectve styles.

I agree on your perspective motiosho; alot of people that used tira havnt used her that well. However that could be sue to to people still thinking she is weak. we all know she isnt now. me, tag, and scamp have proved that tira has potential at SCR too.
I agree on what you say on the 1st vid but on the 2nd vid the tira player is actually one of the top 5 tira users. Akiru is a good player. He seems to play her like in SC4 though based on that vid. I cant blame him either because he is playing in a tournament and that is not the right time to find out what moves do what. Akiru is also playing keev who is apparantly the #1 nighty (i keep hearing that) Keev is also a very good strategist and has a solid defense (i always hear that too). So lets see.. i am sure that keev has learned most of his movelist and is already good with him while akiru is using what he knows based on SC4 and past experiences with her. And in Sc4 tira is hard to use. akiru isnt using her fully in SCV like you said BUT thats becuse he is playing a new game and tira has had many changes and more useful tools now (i dont think akiru tried them out to find out) HOWEVER he is a pro with tira in general. Once he learns her changes i am sure that tira will highly respected in competitive play.

FYI: idk about scamp, but once i got a hang of the stick inputs a lil i actually did very good with her. i used a contoller once and i did very well with that also. UD is so good now =)
I got the attention of like 50 to 70 people and proved to them that tira is not to be underestimated in SCV.

I've heard multiple people saying that everyone's going to be safer because the game's speed has been increased a bit, but if /everyone/ is being sped up, nothing is really safer. If Tira actually got her SC3 speed back with/on top of the SC5 general speed boost, she would be safer, however Nightmare vs Siegfried, or whatever, would still be as unsafe as in SC4.
As for JG, I think it should either slightly heal your gauge or hurt the enemy's. It seems unfair to charge for Impacts (unless a simple impact will avoid unblockables without being just) that hurt the enemy's gauge and give us something that is harder to pull off and would still hurt our gauge.

However. Tira's looking solid, and I think she'll be much more well-rounded in many matchups, except for maybe Godfried, unless he's nerfed (which he should be). If they're going to keep his old speed, keep his old damage. HE'S OLD! He couldn't still swing the sword at i15 or whatever his 3B framerate is. >.<

I'm glad Tira's been buffed. She may not be top-tier material, but she'll kick Ivy's ass, and that's good enough for me. <3
