Can someone here read info on game disks?

Guy who made the SC4 savegame editor is messing around with SC5 as well now. I'm guessing talk about this will not be allowed as with the SC4 savegame editor? I expect it's only a matter of time before he releases an editor for SC5, and it's likely the edits will be usable online.

Ezio's style is really awesome. Should have been available for CAS

I don't think you can hex edit the savegame to do that, but if you've got some of the DLC, you can hex edit it to include all of the DLC. That's a bit dodgy though, since it's darn close to piracy.

Well, since it's ALREADY on the disc, wouldn't it be closer to cheating than to piracy? :/
I'm not a pro about the matter so I must be wrong :)

Well, it's ambigious I suppose, but I wouldn't encourage people to use hacks to access the DLC when it's being sold by Namco.

Hi there.
Just a quick post to say that I believe I saw Siegfried in his SCIV armour while playing Quick Match today. Alas, I skipped him before realising what was before my eyes. I'll look for him again and hopefully provide a picture.
Seem like his SCIV model isn't unused. If I'm right.
His name is plasma, he's an A2 ranked player from Japan.
It doesn't seem like beating him unlocks anything apart from his title.

Has it already been said that SCIV Siegfried is a quick battle character? I saw his model in this thread before I fought him yesterday. I guess there's more secret stuff to be found in this game.
Either DLC super-secret characters behind the tablet.

Yes the tablet. Regardless of it being a timer, it could still be hiding something. That's because it's glowing simultanously together with Dampierre's DLC slot. Coincedence? Just some speculation, maybe you'll find something on the disk :/

Agreed, although I don't think it's ambiguous. It's blatantly using digital content you don't have the rights for which is piracy. :\

Sectus, do you happen to have offsets in the SCV files for the character models and equipment colors? I was going to try to dig them out earlier, but I ran out of time and thought I might be able to ask you....

Basically, I was looking for the flags for the base models (no-lines vs paint-on-wear) that change between pieces of equipment like Tiger Lily and basic clothes. I also want to try to set an item to the game's alpha value to try removing sleeves and such. If you know anything, could you give me a tip? :)

I'm experienced in reverse engineering, however most of my focus has been more towards Assembly and MMO hacking (and of course, single player games). I have some knowledge about content ripping. The bottom line is, they all use standard formats; so it's just a matter of finding a well-known header and ripping the bits after that.

As far as modification, there's little to that. Save game files are small. You make one small change and compare the two and you're already on your way to understanding the layout. Most DLC becomes disabled when it authenticates your save online (connected to XBL) however, and I don't know if MS keeps a log of this which could risk ban perhaps? Who knows, but I'd advise against it unless you plan on staying off the interwebs.

I'll try to spend some time this weekend and see if I can be of help in determining what unused models are on the disc.

http://forum.xentax.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8154&p=65996 - You can refer to that for how to find some of the files. I don't know how the equipment colours are defined though. It is possible to make certain clothing disappear by editing its alpha channel, but get ready for quite a bit of work. And it also only works for textures which has an alpha channel to begin with.

I was totally looking for a topic like this. Thank you.

This is my first time looking into any of this type of information since Game Shark lol.
What do these mods ultimately do to the game?

My understanding is

1. export savegame data from PS3 to computer
2. extract data to CPK files
3. mod the data.
4. Reimport back to your PS3.
5. you have ultra modded SC5 characters!
is that sound about right?

thanks for your help.

I don't believe you can extract the data from ps3 discs ... I tried mine and was unable to. everyone who is able to seem to be using the xbox version.

also, if I'm not mistaken, all the xbox's that do want to do this need to be jtagged [correct me if I'm wrong]

You've got a few details confused. The CPK files are data files on the game disc, not related to savegame. And to change anything, you need a modded console. I'm not sure if the PS3 version is moddable either.

This thread has changed from what it originally was (no thanks to some people).

Have we found someone that can read disc info for you Enkindu?

(NO, that is not an invitation to start discussing who might be hidden on the disc e.g. Taki, Zasa, Talim, no-one like that will be hidden).

If you go some pages back, there's a bunch of posts about what stuff is hidden on the disc (quick answer: practically nothing).

If you bought the disc, all the content on the disc belongs to you. That's as basic as the law gets.

Remember when Rockstar was brought to court and successfully prosecuted over the hot coffee scandal -- yes, the adult content on GTA was locked and had to be hacked, but it was still there and technically it was being sold as the product.

Same rule applies, you already bought the content, just not the unlock code. There is no law saying you require an unlock code to access content you already bought, that's just namco being tricky.

The problem with that argument is that you're not buying the disc itself, but rather you are buying a license to access content on a disc.
Namco EULA said:
BY PLAYING THE VIDEO GAME (EITHER ON YOUR HOME CONSOLE OR IF APPLICABLE ONLINE), AND/OR INSTALLING OR OTHERWISE USING THE GAME PROGRAM, YOU AGREE TO BE LEGALLY BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS AGREEMENT WITH NAMCO BANDAI. ...
3. OWNERSHIP. All intellectual property rights in and to the Game (including but not limited to video, audio and other content incorporated therein or later downloaded) and title to any and all copies thereof are owned by NAMCO BANDAI or its licensors... Certain security measures may be required in order for you to make full use of the Game ...
That being the DLC key you're buying online.
