Creation Improvements &/Wishes

Pretty much what everyone has said but it seems we are all forgetting one thing present in SC III- facial hair options. You either have to be ugly to have at least some stubble in character creation, have to use up an item slot for a raccoon tail like I did with my two of my characters, or have to manipulate some stickers and then use another blank shape sticker to cover up whatever neckbeard results. Others would have to be choosing which poses a character would do, even if it's based on gender so that a magician character doesn't shake his butt for an unblockable for instance. It's worse, traumatizing even if Edge Master does it or plays dominatrix or does Leixia's Magical Girl Pose. Imagine making a Hwang doing some kind of corny Sailor Moon stance after using one of his strongest attacks! This makes one of the good things about Xiba being that a male spear-user without a sword doesn't do that girly jumping thing Seong Mi-Na does for a taunt.

Here's a few I wrote a while back:
  • Allow us to adjust all CAS pieces size and position (or at least just size) to make sure they fit properly. This way we can manage incompatibilities and floating items ourselves.
  • Have a layers system so that a CAS can have multiple pieces from the same category not only underwear (this could work perfectly alongside the previous wish); for example: chain mail, a shirt, vest and an armor..
  • Make a separate save file for CAS characters that depends on the size of the HDD/memory card, so you can make as many characters as long as you don't run out of space.
  • Allow us to change arms/shoulders/feet equipment for each side separately for asymmetrical CAS.
  • Allow us to change upper and lower parts of the underwear separately.
  • Change the materials/shading of the objects so we can match objects' colors easily; for example: glossy leather jacket, matte armor.
  • Allow us to change form of items; for example: tuck shirt in pants, tuck pants in boots, sleeveless shirt, tight cuff.

I have a pretty long mental list of things I want changed, but I'll try to only mention the ones people haven't already covered properly...
  • Separate Undo AND Redo funtions
Sometimes there are several changes I want to undo but can't, meaning I have to keep saving my changes in case something goes wrong and I need to undo a few changes. I often want to compare how my CaS looks before and after SEVERAL changes too.
  • A favourite colours feature
It would be so helpful to temporarily save a couple of the colours you're going to use on your CaS instead of constantly thinking "ok, this item needs to be roughly 6:36:15"; colour schemes would be so much easier to keep on top of.
  • ALL colours should be adjustable
Too many times, I've had to co-ordinate my CaS' colour scheme to a particular item because certain parts of it won't change colour. For example, the gems in the Tiger Lily Boots are always blue, and Pat's 2P breastplate (Oathbearer's Raiment) is always blue. It's a bit cheeky that we're paying money for that equipment and we're instantly limited by its permanent colour (not to mention that for no adequately explained reason it can't be used with arm or neck equipment, but other people have beaten me to that 'less incompatibility' chestnut)

Aside from the obvious (more equipment, slots)

-Ability to highlight all color parts to set to a color, not just the whole thing
-Separate Undo and Redo
-Adjust all colors on equipment, regardless of number of selectable colors or placement
-Adjust size and position for all equipment (i.e. Pauldrons so they don't float)
-Ability to change skin, eye, etc. colors for all characters, not just CAS.

I agree with every word you said.

Here's what I'd like:

* There should be two underwear slots (a top and a bottom). To me, it makes no sense that certain bras can't be worn with certain panties just because they're both in the "underwear" slot. Which means, if you wear one of them, the other half is the ugly default underwear. And this should be true for guys too: there's no reason that chest hair should conflict with wearing briefs.

* This might just be me, but I'd like a way to toggle between what the character will look like at the start of the match and what they'll look like after their clothes have exploded. I try to make sure that my characters look cool/interesting/weird/different after their clothes have exploded, and it's a pain to try to get a sticker on some underclothing to line up just right when you don't want to take off the outer clothing (because of careful coloring/patterns/stickers and so forth).

I have a few more suggestions:

-Allow us to chose a stage for us to use in Creation. The default endless stage already there is boring and it limits us from letting us see our characters under different lighting

-Let us rotate the character models. This could also help provide more posing shots when taking a picture.

These next options are somewhat more difficult, because they require more voice work from the actors. But they would be cool features to have when making a character.

-Let creations have more than just 2 lines. The amount provided in the game already aren't enough.

-They should add a "rival" system for characters we make. We could have an option of a character to be an rival/ally to another character. When two rivals begin a match, we could hear them say lines like "You...I remember you.../I've been waiting for this day/You think you can beat me? Try it!" This could also be done to characters of the main cast, but could instead reuse certain lines against CaS. For instance, if Astaroth were to fight a CaS he's been rivaled with, he could simply say "Who are you? Answer me!" or Siegfried could just say "There are no words. I speak with this." This doesn't really require new animations; just new lines.

-They should also let us chose "aliments" to the characters. How this works is that a character could be made to be good, neutral, or evil and it affects on what a character says. For instance, an evil character would sound the most malicious/sadistic/aggressive when fighting and use frequent lines about killing the opponent. Neutral characters could also say stuff like "I'll kill you!" but say them far less often. Good characters don't say killing at all, but instead say stuff like "I'll defeat you!" and make implications to killing "Your time has come/This is your end!" Good characters would also have some complimentary lines to say if they win, whereas evil characters primarily display arrogance/boasting. Neutral characters could be complimentary and somewhat boastful if they win.

Bring back SCIV detailed original cast clothes breaking and I'm not talking about 3 separates breaks, like if you would destroy Cassandra's clothes, her clothes would be tattered and she would have like half a boot missing. In SC5 they just take off a random top layer is.

^ Although that's never gonna happen but still a wish.

Oh and being able to select what breaks on break.

Ideas... I have many...

For the CaS system:
  • Allow us to choose the character's emotions. It's impossible to make a serious young lady or a sad character like Pyrrha because all young faces look like they're posing for a picture.
  • Create different layers for arm equipment. There are three layers for chest, three for feet and two for the head, but only one for the arms. Let us choose bottom arm equipment (bandages, gloves, etc) and outer arm equipment (bracelets, armor, etc).
  • In a similar way, let us choose bottom face equipment, outer face equipment and headgear.
  • Asymmetry. It would be amazing if we could equip our characters with only one pauldron, for example.
  • Let us decide which pieces break. It's very frustrating to play naked because we got hit hard, we chose those pieces to be there for a reason. Asymmetry here as well.
  • I've said this a million times already, but allow us to edit the angle and position of the "floating"pieces -like the pauldrons and capes- in the same way we edit special equipment.
  • Give us more options for weapon trails. Not only changing the color, but also applying effects like fire, smoke, sparkles, etc. And get rid of the stupid extra hitsparks.
  • Allow us to edit facial hair regardless of whatever face we have (this includes adding beards like Edge Master's).
  • Let us make undergarments red and orange. This limitation is stupid. Just block the skin-colored zone in saturation levels 0-4.
  • Let us choose between different races other than human. Lizardman, werewolf, skeleton, Golem (ala Astaroth), alien, and robot are good examples. Nightmare's SCIV 2p base would also be awesome. Having these as undergarments (like the skeleton in SCV) greatly reduces the range of items we can use, because several pieces conflict. (example: you can't make a skeleton with Patroklos' 1p, because the pants conflict).
  • Let us use every single move in our character's moveset for snapshots.
  • Allow us to choose the stage for creation, while keeping the current creation stage as the standard.
  • And talking about stages, let us put walls and ring outs in the creation stage while testing our characters.
Equipment:
  • Give us all the equipment and hairstyles required to create every single character from every game of the series in every single one of their outfits. We should have the same creative capabilities as the developers.
  • When giving us 1p and 2p outfits, separate arm and chest equipment.
  • Most of the CaS following is into anime, but the amount of anime-inspired hairstyles is pretty much null. At least give us basics like these:

  • Give us more historically accurate outfits. We should at least be able to accurately make Spartan warriors, Persian soldiers, Egyptian sages, Roman centurions, gladiators, vikings, crusaders, German and British knights, armored kings, different kinds of samurais and ninjas, Indian nobles, American Indians, Mayan warriors, Zulu warriors, Spanish conquistadors and Arab knights.
That's it for the basics. I'll make specific requests for pieces later.

I don't think is a good idea to have hairstayles (or clothes) to do particular characters, better to provide hairstyles that can be used to different characters. That wouldn't improve the CAS system at all.

Actually, I see a lot of potential in many of those, like the Mishima hairstyle popularized by Sasuke, Hatsune Miku's ridiculous ponytails or Seiya's wild mane. And while specific items don't necessarily make the system better, they do add a lot of variety. Look at the several uses that people have given Cervantes' 1p jacket or Patroklos' 2p boots. Hell, even the kitty head turned out to be an amazing item (as evidenced by Pocky Yoshi's challenge).
