Curious about the state of the PSN SCV community.

The XBL Online community in my opinion a bunch of whiny, complaint filled rage-quitters who seem to do absolutely nothing other than kick a joining player for having any kind of skill whatsoever and make an amazing amount of excuses when something doesn't go their way. My question personally, is if the PSN Community is the same way?

Technically this is far off, but I'm looking to get a PS4 this generation, and am highly curious as to if I'd get a better experience on Sony Consoles. Thanks.

PS: No offline scene yet for a few years. Have to wait until I move closer to a venue.

I feel that a lot of the top players are on PSN only, that's the only reason I would recommend getting it because the netcode is apparently awful.

Connection quality] XBL is better.

Community size] Both networks are relatively the same size.

PS3 or XBL have a worse community? Uhh... this comes down to opinion, XBL has it's bad apples, PSN has it's bad apples. I doubt there is any diagram you can find of "weekly rage quits! PSN vs XBL" or demography showing XBL players send more hate mail or boot more often than PSN players. =P

For me I play on XBL because I know more friends on there and connections seem to drop a lot less! Besides I don't own SC5 or SC4 for PS3, I've only played it on my friends console.

If you want some nicer people, I'd suggest SCIV on the PSN. It's almost unbelievable.

Nice wasn't exactly what I was looking for, though that certainly is a plus. I was actually more looking for less...frustrating, I guess you could say?

It's hard for me to even be able to stay in a room for two matches, much less a single match at times, because I get kicked so fast for doing nothing but playing the game. Sometimes, I even play nice and don't do things that the newer players consider "cheap" (I don't believe in that, but I try to be nice), and I still get kicked all the time.

Personally, all I was wondering was on PSN, did the community just happen to turn out differently, that's all I was wondering about. I really just wanted to be able to play a couple matches online against a general community that is a bit more open to improvement, if you will.

Judging by the responses, it sadly doesn't appear that way. Kind of depressing, considering I play SCV far too much.

I've never been kicked out of a server on SCIV, even though I stink and I can be a rather annoying kid. They're happy to help.

It seems the same to me on both, it's just a question of whether you prefer paying for less disconnects(XBL) or free with tons of unexplainable disconnects(PSN).

New console in hopes of future Soulcalibur? Eh, PS4 is probably the way to go then. Look at console exclusive titles from Japanese developers, which consoles are they always on? May as well not chance it if that's your biggest reason to get a new console.

I figured that out pretty quickly. I was a huge supporter of PS4 in my local community, and I'm just waiting until the right time to get one, I was actually just curious about the community. It seems I've got my answers go. Thank you for the information about PSN.

Get an Xbox1 and not a PS4.

PS4, less games.
You have to rip the console apart (literally with a screw driver) to change the hard drive.
You need to have your hard drives updated at Sony's website.
Sony's Playstation plus membership works as, if you cancel your subscription, all the free games you got with PS+ are gone until renewed subscription.
On Xbox Live, if your gold runs out, YOU STILL get to keep your free games.
Sony's servers have been hacked before.
Sony had to shut down their servers for 2 weeks when PS4 came out in Europe.

Microsoft made 22 billion in profit last year.
Sony is predicting a 1.1 billion dollar loss ending in March 2014.

Xbox One is clearly a better console to get, both universally, and affordable for what you get.

.

This has minimal correlation with anyone deciding between one of the 2 consoles. However, coming from you you, the comment should automatically be dismissed or at least approached with a heavy skepticism.

A sad case of being overly opinionated, mis-informed, and making your ulterior agenda too obvious.

Too bad it's true:

Edit: Wait, who's misinformed again? Lol! Also I have no "agenda", just posting facts like about Sony having worse netcode, which is, to most people's knowledge, a well known "fact".

I know that the XBL playerbase for SCV is a lot worse than I remembered it being a couple months ago. I came close to buying a PS3 today just to see if SCV was better on the other end.

Maybe I'm just getting old of this game or the people who play it.

Sadly, certain gamers online no matter what platform are snarl happy spoiled fools. It's best to weed out the peeps you like and dump the rest for now.

I'm already completely sold on getting a PS4, and I'm not changing, especially not because of this post. All this information is incredibly deceiving. I was asking about the community to know what to prepare for people wise.

You have to rip the console apart to change the hard drive? Maybe you have your consoles mixed up.

This is the process of the PS4 hard drive replacement. The Xbox One's hard drive is not meant to be replaced. Doing so voids the warranty.

You need to have your hard drives updated at Sony's website.

Of course you have to have the hard drives updated. Because they're not all Microsoft brand and competitively priced. I'll pay a lot less per GB for a hard drive that way than if they were all manufacturer brand. Saves the consumer money.

Unlike M$, where on the 360 you have to buy their Hard Drives, or on the Xbox One, where you can't replace it at all. Where's Xbox One's 1TeraByte Option?

Sony's Playstation plus membership works as, if you cancel your subscription, all the free games you got with PS+ are gone until renewed subscription.

On Xbox Live, if your gold runs out, YOU STILL get to keep your free games.

And in exchange for not being able to keep my games when PS Plus runs out, I get better titles to play, and more games overall. Have you looked at the PS Plus library vs Games with Gold? Remember them releasing that 2006 game Crackdown when Sony was releasing the 6-Month old Need for Speed: Most Wanted from 10 months earlier? Good times.

Sony's servers have been hacked before.

Sony servers have been hacked, so what? Just don't keep your financial information directly on Sony's website. They have options for external payment methods: Use them.

Sony had to shut down their servers for 2 weeks when PS4 came out in Europe.

Sony shutting down their servers for PS4 release for two weeks is just a blatant lie. Yes, they were shaky, but they definitely did not shut down. They were having issues, though, as expected, considering all the downloading and account creation/migration that occurred.

Irrelevant. Sony and MS are, besides for game consoles, into completely different businesses. Microsoft has a virtual monopoly on OS software. This has nothing to do with their respective game divisions. Do you have the number of income based on Microsoft's gaming Division and SCE alone?

Didn't think so.

Your benefits of the PS4 are that, I'm not sure if you noticed, but game performance on Xbox One is awful when compared to PS4. Heard of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition?

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-2014-tomb-raider-definitive-performance-analysis
Several other games have also been shown to run significantly better on PS4 accompanied with higher resolution, frame-rate, and not to mention faster install times.

Also, why did you even mention games with gold? Xbox One doesn't even have it yet. I suggest you do more research on the next generation system you're referring to, rather than basing your argument off Xbox 360 and PS3 when talking about Xbox One. It would help you in the future.

PS: If you want Japanese games next gen, PS4 seems to be the way to go. Xbox One is getting pretty ignored in that category, just like Xbox 360 was. In fact, it might be even worse since Arc System Works stopped supporting Xbox with CP and XRD and Team Ninja announced they're next game is PS4 exclusive, along with the new Dynasty Warriors.

I kind of figured as much. Oh well I guess. Thanks though!

I agree. That's the same feeling that I have right now. Part of me wants to literally go sell my Xbox for a PS3. That way I can also play Persona 5 and Tales of Zestiria when it comes out, along with Xillia and Xillia 2.

I regret buying an xbox one :(

I'm going to wait a couple months after both consoles have settled and have an established library of games before purchasing a PS4.

The PS4 seems like it would perform well when it comes to competitive offline games.

Wrong, at the end of February MS announced they should have exterior hard drives.

Also, it took Sony 8 years to implement voice messages. Xbox had that since 2005.
Also, it took Sony 3 years after Xbox to make a "Party Chat" system. Xbox had that since 2009.

Yes they did, you need to check your references more closely then. =]

Every Sony-Pony troll brags on forums about "Oh look Tomb Raider on PS4 will be 60FPS while XB1's is 40 FPS!" LOL, big deal! It's not because PS4 is better that Tomb Raider looks slightly better, it's because the developer Crystal Dynamics got lazy and didn't make it in 60 FPS for the Xbox One port port. Get your retarded facts straight. (Also, nobody cares if 1 game plays better on PS4, because the PS4 has much fewer games anyways... *cough* TITAN FALL!!)

I mentioned it because Sony's Free games is a joke compared to Xbox Live's Game's with Gold.

Playstation Plus:
- Costs $60 USD per month.
- You get 2 free games per month.
- If you cancel or your subscription runs out, ALL your free games vanish. You'll need to re-subscribe to PS Plus to get your free games back.

Xbox Live Games with Gold:
- Costs $60 per month.
- You get 2 free games per month.
- If your gold membership runs out, you still keep all your free downloaded games. (Unlike Sony)
- Also, all gold accounts can now be shared under one bill.

^ You should do your research more. Technically now being a XBL gold member you get better deals. Oh and PS4 doesn't have dedicated servers for Call of Duty Ghosts, unlike Xbox One where you also get all DLC a month before Playstation owners.

Edit: Let's see how much better Killer Instinct plays on the PS4... oh wait! It never came out for PS4. xD

So, what you're saying is, like I said, the Xbox HD isn't replaceable. External, proprietary (as I said) solutions didn't change that.

Also, it took Sony 8 years to implement voice messages. Xbox had that since 2005.

What does this have to do with PS4 and Xbox One again?

Makes no mention of the two weeks downtime you specified. I already knew about this, is that what you meant? Disabling certain features for a couple days does not equal two weeks of downtime.

Lazy? You're saying that since the Xbox One's graphics card is worse, they're lazy for not trying to enforce parity? Also, one game? How about AC4, Call of Duty: Ghosts, and BF4 (Post-Patch?) Why do all of those run in higher resolution? This is a hardware problem, and it's not the developers problem to make an under-powered console run at 60FPS. Hell, both the Xbox One and PS4 are underpowered, but the PS4 is a lot less underpowered than the Xbox One.

P.S. TitanFall (AKA Multiplayer-only Call of Duty) isn't going to save the Xbox One later on in the generation. Right now they actually have about the same amount of games, Xbox One just has more AAA experiences. But Sony isn't sleeping, they do have more studios overall for a reason. The difference between Xbox One and PS4 is that Xbox 360 had basically no 1st Party exclusives, just like the Xbox One, so they weren't splitting their teams helping the older systems too.

Last of Us, Beyond Two Souls, Soul Sacrifice: Delta, Into the Nexus, etc.

I mentioned it because Sony's Free games is a joke compared to Xbox Live's Game's with Gold.

Playstation Plus:
- Costs $50 USD per year.
- You get more than 2 free games per month.
- If you cancel or your subscription runs out, ALL your free games vanish. You'll need to re-subscribe to PS Plus to get your free games back.
- Also, any PS Plus account on it's home system gives every other account benefits.

Xbox Live Games with Gold:
- Costs $60 per year.
- You get 2 free games per month.
- If your gold membership runs out, you still keep all your free downloaded games. (Unlike Sony)
- Also, all gold accounts can now be shared under one bill.

First of all, fixed your post, which was riddled with all kind of errors like falsely reporting PS Plus's price.

Second of all, added the fact that the PS Plus accounts can be shared on the "Family PS4" the exact same way as family gold on Xbox One.

Third, check out the PlayStation Plus Category one more time: http://us.playstation.com/playstation-plus/ I see more than 2 games. How many do you see? So, fixed that.

Fourth of all, did you really just cite Call of Duty: Ghosts as a reason to go after Xbox One on a Soul Calibur website? Really? That's funny when not even Call of Duty: Ghosts on Xbox One can run in 1080P.

Finally, let's talk about quality. What games do you get on Xbox this month?

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/01...bruary-2014-dead-island-toy-soldiers-cold-war

So, on PS3 this month alone you get 3 titles that once were released at $60, plus over 7 other games that are backlogged permanently. That's ignoring Resogun and Outlast for PS4. On Xbox 360, you get Dead Island, and some arcade game. Smooth.
