Demons souls

You can buy shards of sharpstone from the vendor at the very begining of 2-1. The filthy old man that sits in front of the entrance leading to the blacksmith.

And yeah, he drops his armor every time you kill him. Unfortunately, I do not have a level 40 to help you.

And i really need materials to upgrade my uchigatana. I think i need those shards of sharp stone, i have a ton of other stuff but none of them left, i spent a few on upgrading my kiliji which was kida dumb.... Where can i find those?

Cloak+Thief Ring=Win

You can walk right up to a Crystal Gecko, and it won't notice you until you are literally on top of it.

Can't summon anyone in 1-1 anyways. Spongebob your best bet is to go clear 5-1, and also go rescue Freke in 3-1. Use the Leechmongers soul to make Poison Cloud. Now you can poison Doran =D
can any1 around a 40 soul level help me kill doran? I wana get the sword behind him and also his armor since it seems to be the best weightless armor in game (im still in default wizard robes lol, not mobile enough in heavy stuff). Does he drop his armor guaranteed?
 
howcome when i go to doran he just attacks me, doesnt ask me to prove my strength or anything? Does this mean i cant get the sword behind him? It probably has something to do with the first time i saw him i shot soul arrow thinking he was an enemy....

I think the game is set up like that, it's a trap. Why would you assume the red eye knight is protecting anything good behind that door...I did the exact thing attack ask questions later. That dude hates you after that, all other NPCs give you atleast one hit before going mad.

That dude is like, "hit me I dare you.''
 
@King ace: Nah he's meant to say if you can prove your worth (take of 25% hp off him) then u can grab the sword. Maybe me hitting him str8 away made it not trigger, oh well or maybe the optional quest is only on new game+?

@Impending_doom ty for the advice: Whats funny is I did that a little while before checking this thread xD And yh poisen definately works on him, no need for death cloud. I got that end bit wrong... Its not weightless, i dunno if any armor is I was just going of stamina regen which was very stupid of me -_- EDIT: Oh w8 nvm im getting stuff wrong, its just to do with ure burden

I'm gonna try get that lava bow seeing as i've heard it can 1 hit kill lizards.
 
Lava bow is overrated I prefer my lv 5 sticky bow or the white bow. Though the lava bow helps in some stages and if you can afford to use up your hard demon soul than go for it.

King Dorans armor is alright but the rind he drops is money.
 
Any1 got a pure darkmoon stone? Its taking forever getting the chunks with reapers but im gettin there and geckos dont like me. I dnt have much to trade but i can give you my pure spiderstone, sharpstone(or hardstone 4got) bunch of shards and loads of random stones anyway that i dnt have use for.

nvm ive got wot i need, btw whenever i invade and kill sum1 (i always invade from 4-1) it keeps respawning me at 2-1? ANy idea y?
 
Pure Darkmoonstone was the hardest one for me. It was so hard to get my Crescent Falchion, and it has the least crystal lizards in the game that will actually drop it.

The lava bow isn't really over rated.
It's a good bow for low dexterity builds since you get good damage with only 16 dex.

The white bow requires 24 dexterity and sticky bows' bonuses scale with dexterity.
 
Most of you probably know but with the 4-2 gecko's I tried a billion different approaches on pure black. Good thing was tho unless they die and you see +10 souls for each one you can just reload the game for infinite tries at killing them both if you suck at gecko hunting as much as me. I finally got them both charging in from the left with firestorm and got a pure darkmoon xD I might have another respawn left and probably 1 after boss so ill be trying again l8r xD

Anyway...............so atm I'm SL 88. I have about 400k souls to level up after farming the reaper but dunno what to put them in. Here are my stats atm and I'm looking for a pvp battlemage.

Vit: 34
Int: 24
Endurace: 20
Strength: 18
Dex: 13
Magic: 40
Faith: 12
Luck: 7

I use a crescent uchi +5 so it says my right hand weapon does 380, which seems to be low as heck in pvp which is why ive been upping magic. Im in saints robes most of the time but dorans when i wear the ring of strength. And I'm just using silver catalyst but I'll eventually get faith up to 18 for TOB and OTR.

So yh what to up next and what items i definately need next? Shud I find a better weapon? thnx
 
Crescent Uchi is what I primarily used, and it is awesome. Plus it recovers mp slightly. I would say go to world 3, and hide a soul sign so the Old Monk will summon you. If he does summon you (and you win) then you will get a Monk's Headwrap. You can kill most people by spamming firestorm since that spell is a bitch in lag. This boosts magic damage by a significant amount if you can deal with the screen obstruction. Next I would say get a decent shield and Kris Blade+5 for your offhand. Also if you really want to go pvp as a mage then Homing Soul Arrow would help a great deal. I would also say get poison cloud since a lot of people freak out when they see a cloud. Warding would also be great to have.

Oh yeah, stat wise I would say put more points into Endurance. Your Endurance maxes out at 40.
 
So is crescent better in terms of damage with 40+ magic or is moon since it has better base stats and im not going to too high a level anyway? If any1 knew how to work it out then it wud be gr8. I asked this on the atlus forums lol and it doesnt seem my chars too good.

Btw random, whats the advantage of having a sword in each hand? I can imagine how badass you'd look but how else does it help? And any1 else get completely ownd most of the time online with hyper pole/ anti magic field users?
 
Probably the only weapon worth attacking with in your off hand is Baby's Nail for plague.

Other than that, there's not much reason to dual wield.
You don't get any special move sets for combining weapons; if you could do something like the 2 sword lunges of the dual katana skeletons it might be useful.

Weapons like kris blade or phosphorescent pole may be good to hold in your off hand but you won't actually attack with them.

As for crescent vs moon, *shrug* beats me.
I thought moon weapons were always stronger, but it seems there are cases where crescent weapons are a bit stronger.
 
Crescent is better simply because you regen mana while having it equipped. Otherwise, stick to named weapons. Phosphorescent Pole is stupid fucking broke online... block 3 hits and all your equipment is broken.

No, Phosphorescent Pole sucks. Don't make my mistake by wasting your colorless demon souls on this garbage. Jaxel I think you are thinking of Scraping Spear or w/e it's called.
 
Mirdian hammer is top tier online that shit is a blut weapon and a pole weapon.

Isn't second chance better than warding? Warding wears off while second chance stays.

I never used second chance since I nver boosted my faith. All I know is warding can make anyone a tank. The false king can normally kill me in one hit on ng+++, but with warding it takes around three hits. Warding is a must for a mage.
 
I'd say warding and second chance are about what and what.

Second chance is great b/c you cast it and forget about it until you suffer a fatal blow.
It's also great cause it uses miracle slots instead of spell slots so if you're a mage, particularly lower level, you should still have room for firestorm and a range spell.
2nd chance guarantees that you'll take at least 2 hits to kill.

Only problems are that it takes a long time to cast in case you need to recast, and it takes a lot of MP (100 i think).

Warding is great because it takes less MP, takes less time to cast(the effect starts immediately, even if you get hit out of the casting animation), and lets you take more physical hits than second chance.

The the thing to be careful about aside from it running out is the fact that warding only ups physical defense.
 
second chance is what to use first, after you lose that then its usually better to cast warding.

I always get my ass whupped with hyper pole users. Soon as they go down to low health expect to be killed in a few quick hits...
