Hong Kong SC4 Highlight of the month Jan 09!!!

KnightSpirit

[09] Warrior
Hong Kong Soul Calibur Highlight of the month Jan 2009

Less funny moment this time, but I feel that the overall quality of gameplay is much higher compare to the last one. If you like my last project, you would probably love this one as well.
Anyway, enjoy!

Note: A few things I like to clearify.
1) NM post-GI iwsB can be block, however it is still a decent mix-up because NM doesn't have many good mid option at close range.

2) Any attack that force your opponent to drop sideway, you can jump over them to do BT mix-up. For example, in the video I did Mitsu 2KB > 66K then jump. (66K will force opponent to drop sideway) For mitsu, a good BT mix-up will be BT 2k >33B / BT B+K > 66A+B.

3) There is a easier way to do cervy iTeleport and iGDR. The secret is to hold guard button while doing it... yes you can do iGDR & teleport while holding guard... this make it so much easier to do right after blocking an attack.

It's kinda funny that you can infer if Chang's Friend is playing by the play style.

BTW May'n + Ranka = Win

Everything was cool EXCEPT Mitsu hitting 2K,B three times in row... <_<;;;

LOL yeah, I was trying to show the power of 2kB > 66K as oppose to 2kb > 3B/11BA/66B.

Eventho 66K does less damange, you get another powerful and uninteruptable mix-up right after. If you do 3B or 11BA, your opponent will be too far away for you do do anything.

And I eat that 3 times is because I NEVER expect CF to play so CHEAP!! I keep expecting him to switch it up, so he kind of mind trap me here. Should have just stay on the ground and take an additional hit before getting up safely... got too greedy I guess.

LOL. Yeah, I wasn't judging. I was just surprised to see that. It helped prove even more that Mitsu has some mean 50/50 opportunities. I hate guessing games...

Christ, I'm amazed how quickly Chang's fd can pick up a character and runs with it. His Mitsu must feel like a right b*tch to fight against. :/

I do not see why you would need a fast mid option for post GI.

Nice video though. I need to use iWS when at large frame advantage like after GS A normal hit (in your vid).

Well, CF do play against Mitsu more then another character in HK, so is not surprising he knows how to use him as well.

CF = Cell (Dragon Ball Z), once he see some nice technique from his opponent, he will absort it and make it his own... in Hong Kong, every week is the "Cell Game" haha, really a pain in the neck.

Tiamat: You probably right... maybe is just me because I tend to duck against NM A LOT, due to his powerful high but weak mid game. So iWsB feels dangerous to me. If NM do any delay attack after post GI, I will duck most of the time, so iWSB will work on me.

Based on another clip from the video, it looked like nightmare (lau maybe) stepped into a throw after GIing you. That would be duckable, and if he does that I can partly understand why you might duck after being GIed. However, there isn't a good reason to duck post GI unless they have a low move 21 frames or slower, or you are ducking a slow high move (like nightmare 4A or something like that) on reaction. Don't forget you can re-GI and throwbreak at the same time, or just block and throwbreak (which would block iWS B of course).

Lau only use SC2 costume NM, the NM you refering to is probably Ball's NM. I see your point, post GI iWsB is probably not the best option. But iWsB is definitely something very useful, I think all NM player should use it once in awhile.

I think iWS B would be really good after normal hit GS A (as seen in the video), and a:G+A (slow input) since they are both a ton of + frames

have not heard of Ball before...

Who's the Kilik?

Yes the Kilik player is Fai

Here's the list of players in the video:

Yoshi - CF
Asty - Alex
NM SC2 costume - Lau
Rock - Lau
Mitsu Black and Mitsu 2P red - Simon (me)
Mitsu 2P white hair - CF
Amy - CF
Cervy - CF
NM regualar costume - Ball
Kilik - Fai
Taki - CF
Tira - CF

Simon:

are you sure the NM regular was Ball and there's no Sing's NM in there?

-LAU

I think one of the 1P NM is play by CF as well but Sing wasn't in this one. CF don't have to time to cut out all the vids, so Sing's vid will have to wait until the next project.
