iCS/CS and SS information

i like em large but also tall so i can put it on my lap

TWSS.

Anyway, I spoke with Shawn (one of the creators/founders) and while they are receiving a shipment of the PS360+ chips to put into the dual modded ones, they're only getting very few. I highly doubt that they will actually get to the preorders made past 2011 in time for EVO. They will have them again soon though in a bigger stock, it's just that right now, everyone and their mother wants these PS360+ chips.

never the less.. i am actually able to do iCS more than CS i finally found the secret to this move: Practice, i have practiced so much my muscle memory is getting real good at it so thus i can do it fast

That's not really a secret, that was how every CS and SS has been throughout the history of Soul Calibur - in the end, it's all muscle memory and practice...

Hopping back on the ivy train. I just feel most comfortable using her. Plus she's fresh in SC5 :D . Can anyone recommend the easiest strategy for getting CS/iCS on an xbox controller?

Xbox controller use analog and slam down, up, down...from down make a complete 360 to forward...then slam forward 2-3 more times...B+G. 28(2)-(2)369874123(6)-(6)66-B+G.

hold 2 on analog press 88 dpad go to 4 on analog then 666 dpad

I feel left out lol.. Am I the only ivy player who hasn't got iCS? Ive never got iCS not once since Jan. 31, and I've been working my ass off trying to do it just once...

I think it's 'for these sinners". If you mute the music and sounds effects you will hear it more clearly.

Yeah, that's probably it.

Eli123s has mentioned to me that he had his normal throws side stepped. This happened to me as well. I tried to do some testing in the training mode.

It seems that the A+G,A+B+K (SS) can be quick stepped or side stepped to Ivy's left side at the right moment. The solution to this is to delay A+B+K a bit, then it behaves like a normal throw. But the fastest input seems to make SS lose it's tracking =/

Any idea which sinners she's talking about? Haha

And that's weird about SS. Does this mean all BE throws can be sidestepped like this?

I've got a good idea who those sinners are (camera zoom on people who complained about SC4 Ivy haha)

I don't know if other BE throws have the same issue. It doesn't happen often, but I even had my iCS quick stepped once by Hilde. I don't know how that was possible, too bad I didn't save the replay. Ivy's hand went right through Hilde as she quick stepped. It was at closes possible range.

Maybe there is 1 or two frames of invisibility during quick step? I'm not sure.

I did some testing today.

- Unlike SC4, here's no difference in reach between iCS and CS
- CS/iCS has 4x the reach of a normal throw
- CE has 2x the reach of a normal throw
- SS has the same reach as normal throw (obviously)
- iCS can be only buffered during a taunt
- Even though both CS and iCS appear to have the same speed (i18), because of the fact that iCS cannot be fully buffered it's at least 1 frame slower (with a "perfect iCS" situation, where 2828466 is buffered into a move and 6B+G is pressed on the first frame after the move animation ends) I only speculate that the fastest 'bufferable" iCS is i19, I wasn't able to do it like that. This needs a testing via programmable stick.

The throw reach obviously varies a little bit depending on the opponent hitbox, so for example, Asta is more likely to be caught at a larger distance than Leixia.

Hey guys, day 1 SC5 for me.
And it's really weird, I can do CS when I start with 2 and just do two circles really fast (I'm using Hori Fight Commander Pad) and end with 666B+G.
I also get iCS this way, but not every time.

But my thumb hurts. :(

lol I've looked seems like no one mentioned it, has anyone noticed how far you can run while doing the 666, and even throw in the B to prompt the opponent to stand up
