Ivy matchups discussion and strategies

Ivy does have tech-traps and combos lol.

There is imo no need to do 214B after 3K on hit. Because 3K on hit is +6 I would rather go for a frame trap (BB, 6KB...) or a mix-up. Using 214B after a blocked 3K makes more sense, because you're at -6. 2K is -2 on hit, so I think 214B after it isn't a bad decision. But u can't spam 214B the whole day. E.g. Sieg, Yoshi and NM have all 3K (mid, horizontal kick); they all beat 214B and are safe and 214B is -14 on block. 214B isn't imo a bad move, but it shouldn't be overused.
Ivy has other defensiv options, when she's at frame disadvantage e.g. 3B, 4K, 7_8_9B, 88B, 4A, backstep, JG, GI...(I'm sure I forgot some).

I believe most Ivy players agree with me, that 3B is NOT a terrible move. Imo it's one of her best moves she has. It has TS, TC(although it's not reliable) it's only -10 on block, gives KND on NH, and combos at CH into 6B8 for 74 dmg. CH3B~6B8 BE leads to a w!, which can lead to wall combos over 100 dmg.
Why do u assume that your opponent keeps blocking after 2K? It's -2 on hit and can be punished on block.

When you think your opponent is going for a e.g. Ivy 2K after your own 2K, there is also 7_8_9A(for frame advantage), 7_8_9K(for KND or w!). 7_8_9Kw!>2A+B>6B8 BE.... leads to a 100dmg+ combo.

You omitted the use of 4B, because it's slow? It's i11 (her fastest move) and BB is an i15 safe mid with a long animation compared to other BBs, which helps to buffer CS.

My advice, do iCS, jf22(B)B :B :B :B :B, 6KB, 3(A), 1K,3K, 8A+B and 3B. With these moves alone you can handle any situation on ANY character.

Crazy, so I have been making it more difficult on myself for no reason. Doesn't matter since I use macro to do it now, and extra directional input doesnt matter, but now I can change it from 2 macros into just 1 macro since its universal directionally.

OH God ring I am laughing so hard at what you were saying about Pyrrha a few pages back, why can't you just say "shes a bullshit character, you really have to outplay someone to beat her, good luck guessing"

Synraii, Pyrrha is well designed for SCIV, but this is SCV, and THAT is the problem. Can't just throw out parries and guard impacts to destroy her like you would if it was IV, so you literally have to be BETTER than the person to win. You have to Climb over a brick wall when they have to walk down a hill. click on my character aptitude guide, you should understand which characters need improvement and which need to be hammered into place.

I didn't say better, I said BETTER. Should I change its color to stress how much better you need to be? Lets say as a Play your skill is 100, Pyrrha player is a 75, the Pyrrha has a 60/40 spread to win. You have to be MUCH better to beat them.

You really don't, lol. Pyrrha is well designed, but no matchup in this game is obscenely in her favour. She still has to work hard in her matches. And please, don't talk to me about having to beat the player, I played Siegfried for 3 years, you don't even know.

I really can't think of any difficulties she has besides with other SSS elites like Algol and Viola. She has moves like B+K which vertical evade, she has 22K which is SAFE, a step, a TC, IT KILLS STEP and combos with 236B, her rushdown is INSANE, and this game is about rushdown. Not to mention the QUAKE on her 8B+K, which can be unblockable, in the right situations VERY hard to avoid. NOT TO MENTION SHE HAS ATTACKS THAT ARE DELAYED... All she needs really is a move like Viola's 4A that causes verticals to literally go right through her, or a anti back dash like algol's chair grab, and there you have it, amazing character. Throw in double angel step B for her and watch the blood squirt.

I edited and highlighted the points. And just because shes not as bad as someone was, does not change the fact that you have to be a much better player to win. Sieg has good range, that matters... (even if it causes whiffs are close range)

lol its very simple guys, if on floor smash them with 2A+B till they stand up, run up to them, lol as they duck, and repeat xD

Pyrrha (IMO) is one of the easier( or easiest) character to fend off~ She's really simple and very easy to learn~which is kind of a drag for me since alot of people online can easily fend her off unless they fall for her punishment game meaning: Oh you block...I block..you make a mistake I stab.~ Yeah something like that~Also most ,if not all, of her brave edges are easily JG or GI~so yeah thats all I have to say about that~Btw the quake....yeah...all you have to do is duck or jump when the hit lands~ If your having difficulties with her you need more practice~

The thing with the alexandras, they all have good punishers
Pats, 2143aB
Pyrrhas 236B, with omega having wall potential, thats why as easy as they can be to learn, if they manage to block anything substantial, you gonna eat a decent amount of damage
