Ivy SCIV->SCV Changes

I know - the problem was that almost everything was above average =/
Like her cup size? =3

Right now I am referring to damage only. I have been through the same thing with SC3 and it's really difficult when you play a character that needs a CH do to some decent damage while others don't have this problem.

Ring - remind me, who do I play again?

Hmm, let's see:
1. Kalas (Xianghua)
2. Hyrul (Xianghua, Taki)
3. Talon (Sophitia, Amy, Rock, Cassandra)
4. Synraii (Yoshimitsu, Voldo, Astaroth, Cervantes)
5. Malik Freaborne (Kilik, Siegfried)
Seriously though, Siegfried looks way stronger than Ivy in SCV. His moves do a lot of damage, averaging at about 40-50dmg per hit to my eye. And SC4 Sieg does more damage than SC3 Ivy.

His CE looks pretty weak to me though. But his other hits do look quite powerful.

I've just taken a look into my crystal ball and I saw that, as usual, Ivy players complain about how weak she is, only to find 50 easter eggs (or bugs) in the first six months after the release that will suddenly make her upper mid or top again.

Don't over-analyse and don't draw overhasty conclusions. :)

It's really easy to leave glitches/bugs when a character is essentially 3 different characters put into 1 with a complex stance shifting system.

A one-stance, "normal" character? I'm not so sure. It seems they are taking precautions this time.

Looking at the vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMLm0pn1QoQ&feature=player_embedded
Her SW 22_88B isnt the worst yet :P. In SC2 it doesnt even knockdown.

One thing I absolutely enjoy, is the return of Japanese VA Yumi Toma. The original IVY from SC1-3. I hope her new laugh is impressive.

I always wonder the origin of easter eggs are from... Is it the developer's sneaky way of buffing their char or is simple design glitch. In SC4 arguably a bit of both. In SC5 its gonna be more of the former bcos its easier to keep track of her uh huh 1 stance.

Also... lack of stance isnt necessarily a disadvantage if the char is solid. Its just watered down. V_V

well it doesnt seem to be making people confident but i cant see them just having her how she seems to us right now
just one stance and then certain moves dumbed down so you need a CH for guaranteed combos and such
im sure they will put in some nice suprises that will give her a good boost,i actually dont think so but im trying to not think she will just be terrible
im sure there will be hidden things that will suprise us that they might not show at all same with moves and other things too

I don't think her having 1 stance is a nerve in any way. From the looks of these video's she has SW and WP attacks available from 1 stance. Which eliminates her being stuck in WP at close distance. So imo a buff. Maybe I'm seeing things wrongly here.

Yeah, because it kills the fun of having a complex and diverse character.

Wow @ Davo's links!

We complained about SE A+B being GC, it's UB again.
SW 2A+B stuns like in SC3! We had a discussion about this as well. If it's still i24 it's gonna be super strong.
WP 4A+B,B aGI fixed? If it still aGIs every horizontal move in the game, we are talking about one of the most powerful aGI moves out there.

Hard to see, what 4A+B,B aGIed looks like Hildes 66K/4B+K which are kicks tho not horizontals. ^^

ye SW 1A+B from SC3, looks combo.

In SC4, WP 4A+B auto GI works on many moves, even K and 2K.
I agree it's killing the fun, but in a way it's a buff
It depends how you look at it. If I were making this game, I'd NEVER leave the same move properties from SC4 if she can use them all from one stance.

They will nerf her best SC4 tools and buff those less used moves. She might end up a solid character, but lack of damage (what we see at this moment) will always be something that separates Ivy from better characters.

Edit: Davo, no reason to delete that link. It shows what oosaka was talking about: CL 33BBBB into BE uppercut. It gives a guaranteed air throw apparently.

Taken from TGS archive thread. Natsu vs Ivy:

Not much happening until after 3:08 of the last round.

-CS damage nerfed from 100dmg > 70dmg-ish since EVO demo.
-WP WS B (sword ver) mentioned earlier launches on NH.
-CL 236BB present. Not even sure if it still pickup rollers.
-9B still negative on hit.

-BE CL 33B from TGS gives a yellow effect and blockable. From past its red.

Finally an Ivy player that knows what he is doing.

WP 22_88B, SE BBB combo - does about 40-50dmg.
WP 3A is back. But looks slow, propably i18, like in BD.
CL 214B doesn't force crouch on block.
CL236BB has been changed. There are two versions of this move now. One is SC4's CL236BB, the other one has different animation of the second B, and pushes back on block a lot.
SW 214K does PATHETIC damage!
WP 1B+K is back.
CH SW 44A - same as in SC3. Fall stun = worse combos.

2:34 - what happened here? Was that a guard break WS A?
