Ivy SCIV->SCV Changes

That's the infamous variable cancel (VC) glitch , known for "destroying" the SC community because it was allowed on tournaments in America. It's done by doing G22. It cancels the move recovery. It was completely game breaking, and what you see in the video is only a funny example how it can be used. There was a lot of stuff that you could do with it, like GI while being in the air, infinites, 100% life combos, half screen ring outs and other things. I thought it was really fun to play with! You could also escape backthrows, see this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mD0UQXZnArs&feature=player_detailpage#t=469s

I don't really remember exactly how to make your character levitate upside down, I think you had to G22 on a wall combo/techtrap... I'm not sure.

Have we seen anything great from any character yet?

well no we havent really,but we have seen bits but ivy hasnt seemed to have really done anything
well whatever anyway
i get too worked up about things sometimes so i dont think about things that much,im just a worrier lol i need to try and stop

For real? oO

Yes ;) I had more fun with SC3 simply because our community was more lively during that period, there was no online so there were more offline sessions, more tournaments.... We were meeting very often, making combo movies, finding bugs and new techtrap until the very end of the game. Each offline session was full of laughter, we had a lot of fun. Also, there was always someone who was better than me so I had a lot of motivation to improve (though, I was gonna quit the game many times out of frustration :P)

With SC4 it was completely different. Everything stopped in early 2009 and then I played online 90% of the time.

I felt a similar atmosphere to SC3 sessions only at EBO, but it's only once a year.

Special thanks to Oosaka for providing the new juicy info!

New CS input: 82824666B+G( or 28284666)

I felt that she is like a SC1's style(as Daishi said).
for example 6B is fast mid stub and 6B(hold) is long stub
66B A+B+K is her BE. SC4's coiled 33B -> new uppercut-like attack.
this launches the opponent so you can go to 6B8.
B+G's BE... you know, A+B+K+G, is the input of SS.
and 82824666B+G( or 28284666? I'm not sure) is CS.

I dont know man:
Starting on 8 clockwise 630 degrees to 4, 4 to 6, double tap 6 sounds OK on stick to me =/
That method is gonna be 3 times slower than normal input.

Haha nice Namco! The input itself seems easy, but it's gonna be extremely difficult to pull this off super fast :)

Finally some real facts. I wonder how the buffering turns out in the game. Especially with the 666 at the end.
Lol, maybe we will see a lot of Ivys dashing forward into CS. :)

Lets hope it comes along with a better buffer system, and some "input memory". IIRC she could do part of the motion, attack and finish the motion in SC1. That shit is GODLIKE. Makes for sick mindgames.

666 part seems to be the most difficult because you have to back to neutral twice: 65656. So the real input is 8282465656 B+G.

Oh, I've just noticed that SS (with Brave Edge) and CS are BOTH B-throws???
I cannot imagine that to be honest.

Name me one SC game where she sucked? (Don't say III)
1. She was the worst in SC1, and now she's going back to the same style :)

Power wise:

SC2>SC4>SC:BD>SC3>SC1

Oh, I've just noticed that SS (with Brave Edge) and CS are BOTH B-throws???
I cannot imagine that to be honest.
I think SS is both A and B throw. It's just a normal throw turned into SS using half of the meter. By the way, i think in one video I saw the same thing with Natsu. I think every character can use BE to increase the power of their throws.

Yep, SC(Dreamcast) Ivy is really weak... Especially compared to SCII and SCIV Ivy.

We shall see what that will mean for SCV Ivy.
