Just Attacks

I've been playing a Patroklos around these days.. My questions is, is umbrella and Sakura twister has still the same buffer frames? I've been trying hard to get sakura twister JF x2 in practice but no luck. And I'm assuming it is more punishable than umbrella?

I need to buy myself an Arcade stick. 360 Controller really drags with Sakura Twister. This and the whole reliance on JFs and slide inputs keeps me rarely playing this character in hard difficulty as I can with my main, Leixia.

Either that or just stay on the 2P side, because for some reason I can input this a lot more than I can on the 1P side.

This is in training mode btw. I hardly enter it at all on Offline mode.

I can get the input itself down most of the time, but that fucking JF slide. I understand what I technically need to do, but I have no idea how to do it. Sometimes slides that seem way slower than usual come out as JFs, and sometimes I slide so fast that it comes out as A+B instead! The only way I've found to consistently get a JF Twister every time is to literally flick my entire wrist, letting go of the controller in the process, which tends to be a very bad thing.

Try using the first "bend" of your middle finger as the focus point for your slide putting your thumb under your middle finger as a brace and just slide that ho. Assuming you play on pad. I was able to do JF Twisters on ps3 pad just using my thumb and the slide method, it's just...fast.

does the second 1B:B work different than the first one on the same combo?

Because i can get the first one like 30% of the time but i never get the second one.

The problem is that your timing will vary on the second one because you're buffering the second 1B. Let me explain:

You are pressing the first 1B:B from neutral: you aren't doing anything, so the animation begins right away. For the SECOND 1B:B, you are not starting from neutral. More likely, you are buffering the 1B:B input into the recovery animation of the first 1B:B. This will change the timing.

Why?

Because, the second B input has to be done on a specific frame during the animation of the first B input (referring to the two separate Bs in one instance of 1B:B). Normally, this will be done by timing. However, when you buffer the 1B:B, the animation does not start right away. Instead, you have to wait a brief moment for the first 1B:B animation to recover, and then your second 1B will start. Here's where it gets tricky: now you pressed 1B early (buffered) but still have to input the second B on the same specific frame during the 1B animation. However, that timing will now be slightly delayed, as compared to the first input, because you buffered your 1B, had to wait a few frames. This means your second B input in your second 1B:B will need to be slightly delayed as compared to the timing of simply doing the move from neutral.

I hope that was clear, because this isn't easy to explain. Let me know if you have any questions, but I imagine that this is a part of the problem you're encountering.

Fantastic explanation.I leaned something new today. That was great.

Two questions for you b4k4.
1)How can you nail the timing you described using your method of double tapping? Wont it void the buffering zones in this combo?
2) Can I do single tap 1B then double tap (B,B+K) for the second B?

Why?
My Fight commander pro 3 6 button set up is

A_ B_ A
G _B+K_A+B+K
Shoulders L2 A R2 K
buttons L1 A+B+K R1 A+B
G B+K gives me the B grabs and access to all of my BEs! Great controller by the way.

What method did you settle upon and whats your success rate right now?
Have you tried it out side of practice mode?

Congrads again! 1B:B next! lol

#100th reply!
and no I can't do it outside training, I mean yea but it appears randomly, I must master it
1B:B is actually pretty easy, you just have to know the right time to do it, it's just like :2: :1: :4::3::B::B: (just) or :1::A::A::A:

the method I use? I only realized that doesn't matter how fast you do the 214, just the 3a:B must be really fast, but sometimes I still get 3A+B instead. -_-

Right now I'm trying to use iFC when using Sakura Twister (3 aB). I guess it's a matter of timing, because 3A while standing keeps coming out more than Sakura Twister.

I guess iFC wasn't as easy as I thought.

Question! When I try my fastest input for the a:B slide, while the practice mode notations show that I hit 3A into 3[A]B from a FC, it comes out as a A+B instead, what am I doing wrong? Should I release A in the same window 1 frame window slide into B?
