King Of Fighters Thread

Mai was console exclusive in KOF XI so it wouldn't be impossible for her to show up. I find it hard to believe that there are only 2 playable female characters out of 20 total at the moment.

also...
20 characters means 6 teams of 3, and 2 characters who aren't in a team...for now. maybe there's more comin or else 2 of the characters just dont have a team. if they dont have a team it's probably iori and raiden or kim. I can't tell


currently planning on a team of Iori, Leona, Shen
 
The console exclusive characters in XI were just ported from NGBC

they didn't have to make them from scratch. Let alone from the super expensive/time consuming method they used for the sprites in KoF12
 
still fans come before anything else... and i think over 50% demands mai and k'... *wishes for yamazaki*

for my team it always has been clark, ralf & goro_??? so i'm glad i can still have my team... might try iori cause of his new style...
 
seriously how could they not want to animate mai's tits bouncing in high pixels???

k' not being popular is a surprise... yet gay characters like ash is the main... i think kof is the only 2d game with a charging character as their front man... and raiden is just garbage... i rather see chang...

my personal wish list for other characters would be angel, yamazaki, yashiro, takuma, k', mai, choi, shermie ...etc ...oh and hopefully they atleast design iori's old costume as a 2p or something... him loosing his flames is bad enough but come on... that outfit is legendary... :(
 
iori needs a change anyway, kyo has gotten changes more than once, iori generally gets one "new" move that doesn't even affect his gameplay much. kyo was on his 3rd costume before iori even got his 2nd. I think a change is good for iori, plus losing his flames makes sense in the story

this one isn't going to follow the story as originally planned, but the characters in it are characters who WILL be in KOF XIII I'm sure. they don't wanna make sprites for characters who aren't gonna be in the story for hte next game, too much work (so you're not gonna see Shermie sadly)

and yeah Angel should come back, she's hot as hell >_>

Well so far there is no story

Daimon is a KoF OG

and Raiden is in because SNK has been trying to put him in a game since 97. but he always gets replaced by another character for one reason or another

K' is for the most part seen as "too plain" by japanese audiences. The only place he has a fanbase is in the US and you know how much they give a shit about what we think.


and for those banking on new guys, ignition rep on their message board said "Not to rule out console exclusive characters" so KEEP HOPE ALIVE I guess
 
I read something indicating that there will not even be a boss for the game. It's gonna be like a dream match...except only using characters who are going to show up in the next game which follows the story (XIII I guess). Some of the characters are probably only going to have one DM (super move) because of time constraints.
 
well we north americans don't think 'heat drive' is plain... we like throwing fireball with our feet... and we also like like to throw our sun glasses at somebody before we beat the crap out of them... we think k' is a cool character... atleast i do... lol...

also goes to show why snk wasn't able to put raiden's ugly fat ass in any game... cause he sucks...

since its a dream match kinda thing i think they should have rugal as the boss... as usual more broken than before probably...

Best XII news I've heard in a while. Here's hoping SNK doesn't drop the ball on this one, too.

t3h_mAsTarOth, I couldn't agree with you more. K' is a huge badass. The Japanese probably don't like him because his gender is immediately apparent. Androgyny is a turn-on over there for some reason.
 
freaken sweet news... they better work their asses off if they wanna beat sf4... cause so far sf4 is owning best fg of 2009...

am64: what does androgyny mean? if it means girly looking guys then y is clark, ralf, terry & kim popular?
 
Has anyone been playing KOF Ultimate Match 98! It's so much fun, I dont care what the reviews say. My teams is Heidern, Yamazaki, and Yashiro. *_*
 
androgyny basically means you can't tell the person's sex easily

It won't take much for this game to top SF4 for me cause I don't like SF4 much lol. I have a feeling it will be similar in a lot of ways though, like being overly simplistic. Luckily the graphics in KOF XII are about 439240984259 times better than ... anything.
 
just read from shoryu that online it will be 3 vs. 3... so 3 different people can be on each team... SWEET!!! this will be the first fighter to achieve this... i wish they allow 3 clarks in 1 team...
 
REVIVE

KOF XII is out in arcades, there are a lot of videos out now.

Iori looks overpowered. Unlike his old command grab from the other games, his new one can be comboed INTO. also one of his new specials LINKS to 2D (sweep) on hit. Daimon and Raiden also looking kinda overpowered just cause of their stupid command grabs (which can of course be comboed into).


So far no one seems to be like OMG WTF good though, maybe since the game is more simple now and has less characters it will be more balanced. Wouldn't be surprised if this winds up as the most balanced KOF, but its still early so we'll have to see.
