KoF99 isn't worth 6 cents

and it doesn't have online so what's the point? It's been free on emulators for a few years now

Just saw this video and at the end of it, confirmed Mai is not not the game. But she will be back in the next installment IF fans demand it. What the hell is with this IF stuff. Of course fans want her. What is wrong with SNK? Is Mai goodness so great that they haven't found a way to put those in without lagging the game? They rather put this ugly fat dude( no offense to ugly or fat people) instead of this lovely hassy. Mai is to KOF as is Chun-li to SF. Without her there is no game, although I will buy said no game.
I don't main her or even use her, but I don't know where this rage is coming. I'm just... ugh... Full of RAGE. I'm going to go punch a kitten now.

I always found Vice's combination of speed and grappling far more compelling and unique than Mature's rush down slashing style, especially with Iori in the game. Not to mention with the swearing and bizarre walk she just exuded more character. It's nice to see them going back to the old school however and bringing a character back from the dead in cannonical form. I would have preferred Vice of the two and I think the vast majority of people are with me on that, but I'll happily give the new improved mature a trial. It seems strange that Mai and K didn't make the cut, being as popular as they are amongst the fans. And I know a friend of mine's gonna be disappointed to see no king. I'm happy to see Joe because my brother will be happy to see Joe. And yet Chin and Raiden are in. Some strange choices on the roster indeed. But no matter the case it's nice to see the roster growing as it is.

I'm thinking either SNK is not listening to the fans in some respects, and is simply trying to get a varied mix of fighting styles in the game (which I can respect), or they know what the fans want and are holding back a little bit to offer them later (which I can respect). Imagine incredibly popular characters come up in the next installment or even as DLC. Initiate salivating? I'm pretty sure that's what they want.
 
I'm disappointed by the fact that King won't be in this myself (considering I play her). Don't really give two shits about Mai. Never did (same applies to SF's Chun). A game without her isn't that big a deal with me because I never had any interest in using her.

I'll just see how Leona/Mature/Elizabeth does it for me in XII.
 
I don't know why they would put Mature in KOFXII instead of Mai. Makes absolutely no sense whatsoever. You shouldn't need fan reaction or wait until the next installment to put her in the damn game, especially when you have queer ass Ash Crimson in the game. But then again, I don't make video games so what do I know. If anything, Vice should be in over Mature if you're not going to put Mai in the game.

I finally got my hands on KOF XII. The game is gorgeous, but I'm not feeling it. I'm going to wait and see how it is on the console before I go out and buy it.

She's better than the other lame characters that are on the roster.

They could have made alot of people happy by adding her into the game and making her bouncy. She's been a part of Fatal Fury/KOF since the jump and is probably one of the most recognizable characters that SNK has. You could have easily swapped Mai with someone like Athena who looks like she's 8, or Mature, or Elizabeth, or anyone else.

But I'm not going to lose sleep over it because I'm going to pass on KOF XII.
 
Athena is just as much an iconic KOF character as Mai is. Don't forget that Mai was NOT in the arcade version of KOF XI, so it honestly shouldn't be this surprising.
 
I was hoping they add more content for the console release. I was so hyped up about this game at first with its sprite makeover and all, but then the more information I got about the game the more disappointed I got. The smaller character roster didn't bother me at all, so long they were able to make it up for something else. Nope, nothing. I even just now notice that some character lost some of their moves. EX: Athena teleport.

I do like the online option they added where you and your friend can challenge another group of player in a team match, but with so few people being hype about this game now, I don't know how online will fare. I'm a big fan of SNK, I just don't know what they were thinking cutting so many stuff without adding anything to fill that void. Let hope it can ride the momentum that fighting game are generating this year and be a success.
