Maxi General Q&A

I just wanted to make a small correction to Maximum's post, in that you can GI lows.

Wait, that was a HUGE mistake on Maximum's part then. So you CAN GI lows? Is it a different command, or do GIs work against all three ranges (High, Mid, Low) with the same 4A+B+K command ? If it's the latter, that makes total sense why GIs cost meter now. It's like a get out of jail card against a 50/50 mid/low mixup. Plus, you would be forcing the other person to either use their meter and reGI (if it still even works the same way that is) or eat free damage, like a CE even!

4A+B+K GIs Highs/Mids/Lows

Yep.

GI also gives you enough frame advantage to hit someone right after doing it, so it's possible to go into CE if your fast enough, or just hit them with whatever you feel like.

Now I haven't tested to see if they can re-GI afterward. Forgot to check.

should be able to, as long as they have meter. Don't see why they will prevent that but considering the heavy amount of adv you get, and they do an attempted reGI, you can probably land some semi-fast UBs :) eg Tira's and Maxi's

Does anyone know if Just Ukemis are in?

And also.....What could be some of Maxi's punishments when he successfully JG's someone?

I recall Utoh-san saying that Just Ukemis where hard to balance so there out.

I like his new 3B, 6A+B for a just guard punish.

Just guard punishes will be based on the recovery of the move that got just guarded. If it's a heavy attack, the punisher can be a slower and stronger one, if it's a light attack, you won't get any punisher at all.

Barry did you get a chance to play with B+K BBBA stuff. Is it still Maxi's best punisher AND did they make it easier to get off more consistantly?

I guess thats a question for anyone who has played SCV Maxi

If I recall correctly it does less damage now, and you can't follow it by BT B+K.
I tested it on the TGS build so I don't know if it's still the same or not.

Oh yeah, just another little piece of information.

When I took a peek at Maxi's Command List, his PSL are no longer called PSL's.

It's called something along the lines of "True Force" or something like that. I should have written it down.

I never hit a low GI. Maybe the timing was off, but regardless, I'm glad the low GI is there. I wish the stupid meter wasn't there.......half the fun of GIs is the mind fuck people give when dishing them out. I guess Namco didn't want to have people develop any mental problems playing this game......

Naaah, i can see the reasoning behind the meter penalty. They didn't want GI abuse really which was possible for those with good timing. They want us to find more creative defensive solutions. GI in general was a lazy way out of some situations. The mind games are still there, because as long as the person has meter, they can reGI as well....and I'm assuming the adv garnered from a successful GI is more stellar than it has ever been

The meter is still gay. The GI system now made the game lazy and less in thought. So people like myself with good timing can no longer punish those spamming attacks. We have to sit there and block if we have no alternative attack or solution to the problem.

Im going to say no on that.. if it didnt cost meter to GI. this game would be broke because Gi into CE works.
if you get Gied in SCV your most like taking a super next.

i still have the 3rdstrike Parry into super mentality. yah for me
complete 180
:sc2maxi1: is about damage now:) lol
:sc2rap1: is styling
:sc5zwe1: is about putting on a show

JG man I'm sure that will be a tad bit more difficult then GI.

Yes exactly, if your timing is really good then attacks that you would've usually GId, you would now choose to JG it instead if there's no other solution out of it. I doubt there's much situations that force you in that position though. We'll see

I can't wait to find out the frame data on JG and practice doing it on some obvious slow strings. Like for instance, take Maxi 1B, A, {K}. On a fully charged K I think someone could get good with the timing for JGing that. What I'm wondering though, is just how many frames does it save you vs block stun? Like for instance, a move that was -7 used to be considered safe but would it still be safe if it was JGd?

Based on what Daishi's said, the number of frames you get for a successful JG will vary from move to move.

I remember the devs consistently JG the last hit of his RC A, B and Zwei got a free launcher off of it. I don't know the frames but I thought that was originally a safe string.
