Maxi General Q&A

So am i the only one that STILL tries to use 2B+K B to stomp people? (happened playing Marginal last night)
And am I the only one that still thinks there is a 33bA that you can use on wake up? (also playing Marginal)

I just need to play more I guess. Or maybe Marginal is just a peckernose!

So that's why you were spamming 33B like a wierdo.

Just so you know, my Xiba is hungry.

Yeah I did it like 3 times last night! I should just went to bed and stopped playing half asleep!

I still miss 33bA tho!

and dont make me throw up that vid of us from last night.

So do I. My wakeup would've worked against that and you wouldn't even have that stinky video.

Bah. Xiba's hungry win or lose.

Damn, I'm decide to pick up Maxi for the first time today and I have such a hard time against Voldo players. *Maxi noob here*

Any special wakeup moves that I should know? And, guys, what's your top 5 moves? I'll try to learn Maxi from now on, so. . . Yeah.

Top 5 moves for Maxi is kind of tricky considering the way his stances work.
6A+B (and it's brave edge)
4B
22_88 K (mixing that up with the other K or the A)
66B
FC 3A (mixing it up with the other 2 As)

My favorite top 5, excluding stance moves since they're mostly just dependent on moves like these above to get into them.

As far as wakeup moves go, a lot of people like WS B+K. I find it's situation depending on the character and the opponent (it steps to the left and usually loses to 3Bs, and some people LOVE 3B). I haven't played many Voldos, but a lot of them seem low-happy, so I'd suggest watch for the lows and punish with WS B+K. It brings you into BL for a free BL KK on normal hit, and you can use the BL K BE for a long range ring-out

The way I learn to get better at this game, is to try and learn how to play everyone in the game to some degree. I'm starting this process for SCV (took me long enough..) with Maxi. Why? Because I had no idea how to fight him this time around other than spacing.

I've been getting some pretty good results with him as of recent. Punishing things with 6A+B BE LI(?) A is just awesome and his oki this time around seem really good with FC 3AAA, 66B+K, 44B and 2KB. Having a good ol standard 2A to interrupt stuff has helped my game alot too.

I wish I could find a way to upload some replays..I want to be critiqued on how I play him, so that I can improve.

Yeah, I decide that I want to play him because he's fightning style is just too awesome!

Anyway, guys, you know the BL K BE (long rage ring-out) move, right? There's a bug or something on it? I'm asking this because I was playing my friend yesterday (Nightmare) and, when I did this move, both of us got out of the ring (he got out first), so the game consider a "draw". Today I was playing against Viola and I did the same thing: but, this time, Viola won when I hit her with the move for the ring out.

This ain't normal, right?

Yea it's normal though I never got a draw before. I guess it's Project Soul's way of saying that this move is amazing at RO but should not be used haphazardly.

When your opponents back is right up against the edge is usually when it happens.

Man, this is wrong. This happened in the past Soul Calibur games as well? Never played Maxi in the past. ^^"

Well to be fair it ROs from very far if you get it during a launch or ground slide. If you land the BL K BE without the launch or ground slide I don't think you can ring yourself out but the trade off is they have to be fairly close to the edge for them to get RO.

I know if your opponent sidestepped the Dragon kick in SCIV you could ring yourself out.

Maxi never had an OTG RO tool before. The threat is worth the minor risk of RO'ing yourself if you try it at the extreme edge of the ring.

Maxi seems to knock other opponent higher into the air than he jumps afterwards. Kinda funny since a few inches back lets him get away with it. It's like Maxi takes longer to jump when he's not at the ring's immediate edge.

ive been messing around with these two moves for a bit and im close to saying that they are useless.
does anyone actually use / try to use theses?
