Maxi Video Discussion

KrayzieCD and Soakrates tourney matches.

Also, shoutout to HRD. GGs last night. I was a bit rusty, but you are definitely better than I am. For now at least :) I was happy to win 1/3rd of the matches. Play again sometime.

Also, played ranked and got matched up against the #1 ranked psn player in the world. Not amazing play by either of us, and I know that rank doesn't matter, but since he is rank #1, figure it's worth posting.

Yeah man. That was hella fun. I usually dont like maxi mirrors, but that was some good times.

You like how I duck 99% of your RO A's and punished with WS B? I noticed you started switching it up towards the end tho.....lol

We should do that again real soon.

Yes. Ducking those RO As and punishing with WS B was very nice. :) I still haven't worked in WS B punishes into my game. Always afraid they'll duck or tech crouch it.

I'm impressed with your use of 22A. You got good mileage out of it. I've always found it to be overrated. Seems so slow and short range and puts you in LI, which is very open to punish. But I guess it's not as easy to recognize and punish it as 66B since I'm still not used to it. Or does 22A cause more block stun than a 66B?

22A is much better on block than 66B. 22A is +6 on block into LI (Making LI A unable to be interrupted and LI K beaten only by moves faster than i14), while 66B is -5 into LI. If 66B is blocked outside of its max range, you're in for a world of hurt.

TBH Im not sure of the block stun properties of either moves. But I personally do not like 66B. Its very linear, easily stepable and is just virtually not in my game at all. Unless Im playing wake-up games with you.

22_88A is just a staple that you need to put in your game more. Its range is very decieving, puts you in LI for lots of mix-up fun. On block I will usually go with LI K. Then if you manage to not duck it or punish it, Ill throw out an immediate A+Bg. The block stun on LI K is awesome and tons of people will eat A+Bg for half thier life damge.

In our matches, the first 3 or 4 I was more or less seeing how you react to certain things. I gauged you up pretty good. But then you gauged me up pretty good and you started adjusting. It was nice to see.

You were the last person I played. Ill see if I can throw a couple matches up if you dont mind.

1 more thing. If you see me doing 4B LI {B} and you DONT step it!! Im so gonna pinch your titties!! LOL

Hey, Kevko, I will try to hit you up for some matches. I knew I saw that nick somewhere else... he, he.
Ya, man. I'm happy to play anytime you catch me in game. We already have each other added as friends on PSN because we've played 1 match together in one of the public player match rooms. I was able to random out 2 rounds, but you beat me solidly in the 3 rounds you won to win the match.

I also saw your youtube channel. You should post some SCV vids. I saw a couple of your SCIV vids and they were great.

can mitsurugi step Maxi's LI A after blocking his maxi's 22A ?

You should be able to step LI A to the right after 6B4G though, means you can step all Maxi's mix up after 6B4G
It's character specific, depend on the quality of the step, test it with Mitsurugi (Leixia, Raphael, Natsu and Maxi can do it, Nightmare can't, didn't test with the others)

Well that settle our new LI A, if the source was right for that nerf, maybe it was right for the LI A BE still tracking too
So without BE Maxi doesn't have any mix up reliable when he enters in LI stance... not very fun but heh could be worse
Need to see the damage reduction now :P

even with a 0 tracking LI A, 22A will still be good since you get big damage on CH and NH at tip range still, it'll just be more risky. if it turns out that stepping in a particular direction will always beat every LI option after a blocked 22A or 6A+B BE, then i wonder if PSL2>BL A_K_B+K would serve as a usable counter to that, depending on what the opp does after stepping. maxi does still have quite a bit of advantage after 22A is blocked (unless they nerfed that too).

That was a good game we had. I've improved since then. Looking forward to playing again. Also, even though I lost, I gonged you in the 1st round, so really I won. :D

One thing I did randomly and only noticed when I saw the 3rd round of the vid, 6A CH, RO B combo'd. Gonna have to start doing that on purpose.
