Missing character discussion

Voldo, Maxi, and Siegfried are the only ones that personally are a nightmare for me.

Even nightmare doesnt bother me as much as these guys! They're just soo... unpredictable. I'm slowly learning how to deal with them but Siegfried honestly has me baffled, i know his stances, but his range will always be what scares me.

Edit: Mitsu gives me problems too, but i think that's because it's just Mitsu...

Guys, the real question is why the FUCK isn't Talim in the stupid game?! I mean come on, not even her stupid playstyle. She coulda got knocked up at 18 and we could have another 15 year old Filipino wind priestess or some shit.

A combination of all three, really. She wasn't the best in 4, but neither was I lol. All through SC for as long as the characters have been in the game, I've played as Siegfried, Cervantes and Talim. It's just like a piece of me is missing, man :(

So I guess no reason really other than the fact that I've just played her for so long.

I understand that. I would recommend trying Natsu, they are mobile in a similar way. If you don't like her you could try Leixia too. Thanks for answering me though; I like to hear players opinions about their characters. Usually people don't answer me or think I'm being an ass. :(

I tried Natsu and Leixia, but it just wasn't the same. I felt like I was being a tier whore just by playing Natsu and Leixia just... meh. I never liked their forebears either.

I think I'm just gonna stick to working Cervantes (and keeping Pyrrha) in as my main and keep Sieg, Yoshi and Mitsu as secondaries until SC6 or they release Talim.

I wouldn't worry about people calling you a tier whore. Whatever character feel natural is for you. It's all good though, at least you tried the other characters. Some people I know locally bitched on and on about the changes in SCV.

I play a bit of Seong Mi-Na in SCIV but Xiba isn't the same for me. They feel totally different.

I do local stuff myself. Just whatever friends are over at the time and whatnot, though I have done online battles in the new one before. I don't do it much, but I think that because of how the online stuff was for SCIV, it hasn't been a very appealing idea for me to be back online again.

I will admit that I like how the delay between the button press and the reaction is a bit more stable and consistent. In IV, I played online on some that may as well have been right in my own room, and some where I actually waited for an entire second before the character moved. At least in V, the delay is noticeable, but it hardly varies, and so it's easier to get into a groove.

As for the actual missing characters, I gotta say that I'd have liked to see Zasalamel in again, as well as Talim. Zas would be a most excellent example of a face that's a complete and utter douche, and I tend to like those characters.; hence why I've liked Siegfried so much as well. No matter what incarnation, there's always been some piece of him that shows he can still be a total dick, however apparent it is in each one. On Talim's part, I remember seeing one of the 'prototype' drawings they'd done for SCIV, and one had her wearing a cowl and a wide hat, which I liked, as it really suited the 'wanderer' part of her story. Even though she wasn't quite as good in IV as she was in the other games, I still enjoyed playing as her once in awhile. Kinda throws everyone off since Siegfried has always been my main. B)

I still believe she can make it back in later editions (maybe the super duper SCV edition... lol) since she'll only be 32.

Two reason why I don't think Talim has a daughter that would be another 'Filipino wind priestess' is because she was prophesied to be the 'last wind priestess' and second, with the malfested being discriminated and hunted down (ex, Pyrrha), Talim would probably sacrifice her happiness and desire to have a family and instead, travel the world and try to purify them. Just my speculation of course. I'd take her daughter if there was no other way to get her style back.

I like playing Talim because I like to confuse my opponents alot with 2_8B+K or 4B+K combos. The pressure was good when I get going and she was good at guard crushing the gauge in my opinion lol. So with her gone, I've now changed to Zwei to (try... still training) be unpredictable. But I still miss my elbow blades (>Y.Y)
