I'm glad no characters ever say "OGEEE" when you hit them now, it seriously got on my nerves in SCIV because every 5th hit or so on every character they made a stupid "OGEEE" noise.
Bit off topic xD

Random CaS: "I can feel it!"You really want Leixia to be tormented just like Pyrrha. Well, replace Natsu with Tira to make her REALLY suffer.
Ah her suffering, how it does soothe me.
Appearance wise Leixia is fine, but her personality annoys me to a whole other level. I hate that archetype more than S&S movesets (though I will admit I've always had a pocket Sophie/Pyrrha). Natsu would be way better too if her hair was a different color and she didn't wear ass hugging clothes (could be the lighting system in SCV that makes it stand out). You REALLY don't like Leixia... I guess I'm just not good at hating unless they perform an action I believe deserves hate, rather than their personality. Besides, I think she's kinda cute.
Or as filthy rich would say it:Ahem.
LOOK OUT WORLD, HERE COMES LEIXIA! >=D
*I am SO glad I found this thing, I need to vent. One thing I wanna make clear, (I think SCV focused a lot around online, creation, and CHANGE . This is the game's fifth installment, and takes place 17 years later, so they probably thought this a good chance to: (A) Try some new (a little extreme) changes to the game, (B) See how the players and fans react to change.(so yes, I miss the absent chracters and explain why, but I completely understand the developer's desire for change)Anyway, Missing Characters. These are my opinions, understand that they may be different than your's:Taki- I'm not here here for ridiculous bazooka boobs and skin tight body suits, I liked her personality. A no sh*t, serious, bad ass, ninja demon huntress who fought for justice. She was tough to a fault, yet you could tell her intentions were good (behind that slight b*tchiness). Hearing her speak made me sit up straight, but feel safe at the same time. Playstyle wise, I beleive Natsu is analagous, I don't know; I don't really play them. Regarding her absence, I beleive the developers said they don't believe one can continue to be a ninja after age 46 or so, they train other ninja's. I don't know to much about female anatomy, fitness, or aging, but I belive if she still trained as hard as she usually would, she could still be in so long as she had no medical problems. I belive the made reason is that there is a Japanese (and/or Namco) mentality that women don't age well. Siegfried and Mitsu (also Edge Master and Heihachi) are well aged but most women past 30-something dissapear. I believe it is unfair, I wouldn't mind if Taki doesn't look as attractive as she used to (in fact, I don't care at all) so long as she's still there. Being replaced with Natsu however is interesting, they are total opposites. This will be expanded in another section.Sophitia- I loved Sophitia since the first game. Her sweet (eventually motherly) personality was likeable, even though she was a bit of a follower (with the gods and stuff). Seeing her outfuts grow skimpier and skimpier broke my heart, I don't believe it fit her personality... Her story in IV had me al, "Nooooo... Sophitia, don't be evil...". I don't believe that she "developed" too much per se, but she just went through a lot. Her absence was storyline-wise, death by Tira even though she was holding her daughter hostage to make Sophie do her bidding, she killed her... (WHYYYYY!? TIRA I WILL HANG YOU BY YOUR ENTRAILS AND SHRED YOUr CARCASS TO BITS WITH YOUR OWN EIRSERN DROSSEL!). Her death gave her children the story (if y'all WANT to call it a story) for V. Playing as Pyrrah or Oprah is okay, not TOO different, but I don't get the same satisfaction as I did with Sophie. Plus Elysium (Soul Calibur's Inferno) is b*tch who smears Sophitia's decent name.Cassandra- Like her sis, I miss her too. A completely contrasting personality to Sophitia, independant; robust; yet just as sweet. I really never found her annoying, I liked her smack talk, it may have seemed cocky, but I think she know's what she's doing. She just seem s so strong is what I am saying, sompared to her sister. The playstyle, I like. I have even always like the two S&S styles: balanced and thorough, and wild and aggressive. V overdid it with 3 S&S's, but I'd like if in the next one, Pat stays Patsuka, Pyrrha sombines her to existing syles becoming Sophitia, and Cassandra comes back as the second shield & sword! (Even if Solo up ther dreads it! :D)Xianghua- I don't have much to really say, she was one of my mains and I like her. I found her personality kind of cute, but there isn't much depth I can go into. I like how she always stuck by Kilik no matter what though. Gameplay, Leixia's the same I think. Her absence wasn't necesary, but understandable. I think they just really wanted to put in her daugther for whatever reason... It's just nice to know that she is alive and well and trying to protect her daughter from the outsideworld.Setsuka- I loved her in III, driven by a brutal yet somber (slightly misunderstood) revenge. Her graceful yet skillful fighting style was an absolute marvel. Her beauty and costumes were breathtaking (and not too skimpy, might I add). Her story at the end... her learning to turn her back on revenge and persue helping others... I loved her so much... IV erased all that: her story in III was probs non-canon, when her voice changed (no offense to the actress) her personality seemed to become WAY more violent and brutal ("GIVE UP AND DIE!"... Why?...). Gameplay wise her replacement is Apat, pretty much identical, I just miss the elegance... She didn't seem to be at all necesary (or even INVOLVED) in the story, they prabably thought it would just be better to chuck her and keep her movest as a plot device for Pat. I'm not too crushed, I already lost a little respect for her in the transition from III to IV.Rock- I truly pity the big guy. I thoguht he was pretty cool, from the UK; lost and brought up in the new world; raised an adopted son on his own (and saved him from evil). Astaroth stole his spot. Asty was LITERALLY made in Rock's image to oust him. Asty was a tool, then an angsty rebelious tenneager (actually I think he was 7...), then killed and made into a mass-produced tool. I was never good at Rock's style, like I said I just feel bad he was taken over. I am however, like many, confused that his son Bangoo was not included to replace him...Seong Mi-na- I truly miss Heart and Soul Girl. Like Taki, she was there from the start, and like Rock, was taken over by someone that showed up later on (Kilik). I loved her happy and confident personality, I don't think anyone in V is exactly like her. Her story modes were enjoyable, isolated, but still likeable. They kept her alongside Kilik for a while, but they could've continued diverging them... maybe they got tired of it... Her appearence was also generally pleasing, her colors, her hair, she was quite pretty, and her outfits were beautiful (and progressively grew less skimpy! :D). Gameplay wise, Kilik and Mi-na were of my mains, and now Xiba is. Xiba basically has a buttload of Mi-na and Kilik's moves ,which made me like, "Well now she is definately not gonna be DLC... But I'm still hoping on it! The "Aging Women" complex is also in effect here, she would be 40. But hey, I think she could have it in her at 40 if she still wanted to.Talim- At her absence, I was simply, "... THE F*CK?!". I LOVED Talim, her unique kind, innocent and sensitive (but will still kick your ass if you she can't dissuade you from fighting) personality was incredible. Her designs were interesting as well. Being of the youngest characters in the Soul Series, I expected her to in V (She'd be 32). Hilde is 35! (But don't get me started on her, as awesome as she was in IV, she is EXACTLY the same in V? No way). But anyway, her playstyle... MISSING in V. Her weapons (BLADED tonfa) and filipino martial arts (Escrima I believe) had her flying around and slashing you to bits with the power of the wind. She is also a FIFTEEN year-old who could punch out a warrior king, she also is able to oust Soul Edge (y'know, the ultimate evil?)'s influence. It is even implied that she sould wield Soul Edge and actually not go axe-crazy! Not only is she incredibly unique, but she is totally a GOD! They seriously made a mistake not including her.Yun-Seong- I liked his persnonality, loveable goofball, and he had interesting story modes with Mi-na and Talim. He is just trying to do whatever he can to protect his country, while he is terribly stubborn, his intentions are good at heart. His playstyle I believe (I never really played it too much) was unique, and missing from V... I believe that he should've still been able to be in the game.Zasalamel- Okay, HIM of all people I expected most to reappear. He REINCARNATES, what's stopping him? His playstyle was unique, he was pretty intersting and he was kinda cool looking. Clearly Namco had time constraints on releasing V. Pretty much the last three (I'm hoping four... :D) I'm expecting should become DLC if the fellows who make this game aren't completely insane.New Guys:- Well the new trio (Natsu, Leixia, Xiba) sure does get a lot of grief... let me just say this, THEY ARE CHILDREN. Not only that but, children with either not serious, or indeterminate/undeveloped stories (and or goals). Natsu I like truly, her personality is a kind of funny, cut you down to size, attitude (and she mostly has skills to back her up). Her personality powerfully contrasts Taki, which isn't surprising, she can clearly be a little rebillious of her master. I'm sure they have great respect for eachother, which is why Natsu's story is her looking for Taki, who went on a short journey but never came back. I'm sure she is truly determined under her rough exterior, and will mature into a more balanced personality. Leixia may be annoying, but think about it, a 15 year-old girl who was kept in the palace her whole life (after hearing her mother's incredible adveture stories might I add) out in the world for the first time? I'd sure be quite excitable. Her story has also yet to become serious, she is only getting out in the world to adventure and find out about the Dvapara-Yuga, and why her mother is keeping her from the outside world. She honestly sounds like something out of a Disney movie. Honestly, give her a chance, she just needs to learn a little. Xiba is also quite annoying, and anime like at that. He probably lived a simple life until Edge Master told him he must travel to find Kilik and take-up the Kali-Yuga to control it's powers. He's never had to take anything seriously, and he's yet to take his new task seriously. Once he does meet up with destiny, I'm sure he'll change as well.-Pyrrha and Patroklos... where do I begin?... Pyrrha, I don't think she should be given all the grief she gets. She was kidnapped by a schitzephrenic assassin b*tch at age 4, her mother was forced to do terrible things just to save Pyrrha, but then Tira killed Sophitia. Even more, Tira raised and stalked her, just to make sure she would experience as much agony and hatred from society as possible, just so she could become a puppet for Soul Edge... Someone needs to give that poor girl a hug! She was raised to be a tool! Pat too, seems very annoying first, super cocky and stubborn. But he is DESPERATELY trying to avenge his mother and try to put the shambled pieces of his family back together. He was delusioned into being used as tool by Dumas, I felt pretty sorry for the guy when he found out that all the time he was doing (MURDER) favors for the Graf, it wasn't helping him get his family back. He had a strange heel-face turn in personality when he became Apat, but almost shockingly so (whatever, the personality change was welcome). My point, think about being in their shoes a little bit.Mimics- Edgemaster, okay, he's an epic grampa. But I didn't find Elysium and Kilik TOO necesary gameply wise. Kilik being there kinda taunts me that he's not HIM anymore, but storywise, I think it was so he can eventually become the new Edgemaster... Same for Elysium, taunts me that Sophitia's gone, and she's abig meanie. Like Kilik, Elysium I am sure is mostly story.Algol- I believe he was uneeded, an overpowered story/boss character from the last game who is hardly in this one?Why him over Talim? Idon't know.Anyway, that is all my oppinion, you may disagree if you wish. Thanks for listening if you did! :D
Lexia is actually very pretty...when she has her trap shut. >_<;;
No he's right; its a Japanese mentality. I've yet to see a good number of women in any game, anime, or manga who is decent and over age 30. In fact, they treat a lot of the men the same way; what's going on with SCV is uncommon, because characters from most other media are already young anyway.I think it's just a namco thing.

As an asian, I can confirm this really happens
sugoi desu...
How do you know they weren't?I'd like to take issue with this thread title. In order for characters to be missing, they'd have to be intended to be there in the first place.
<3
How do you know they weren't?
You think they really meant to have 3 mimics?
In order for Leixia to pipe down, just introduce her to Mr. Duct Tape or Mr. Krazy Glue and apply it to her mouth. For Xiba, he does ned to see a doctor for...everything. How can you be hungry all the time unless you got the munchies 24/7. My guess is that PS wanted to make Xiba a stoner, like Natsu since Xiba's birthday is 4/20.I agree lol. Leixia just needs to pipe down, and Xiba, go to a doctor. He'll see to it that your stomach problems are permanently solved -_-
Well, weather or not those mimics were intended to be in the game from the start isn't something that anymore matters at this point. All we know is that those mimics were designed to be in the game, while characters like Zas, Talim, Yun, and others weren't. With that in mind, you can't call them "missing" if they were never there. How do you know they weren't?

Leixia needs to get 1B'd then she'll never talk again. >:DIn order for Leixia to pipe down, just introduce her to Mr. Duct Tape or Mr. Krazy Glue and apply it to her mouth.
Leixia needs a good ol' mud stomp from Stone Cold Steve Austin and walk her dryLeixia needs to get 1B'd then she'll never talk again. >:D
