Hpnestly I don't think anyone ever did discuss the show amongst themselves for any extended period in a way that wasn't negative, BUT, I bow to your reasoning.
 
It's kind of because the moment they did 1, or many, haters come in to hate on it and than the conversation becomes what just happened.

It's like being oppressed, only on the internet.

lol... Cant judge since i never saw the show but it did look kinda lame from first seeing it. For lil kids I say its cool for them since it look like it was intened for children. However, didnt know the term "Bronies" till this weekend since i stayed clear from a show about ponies lol but if the outcry is THAT bad I dont even wanna be apart of it xD. But, if you like it by all means... enjoy it >_>X.

It might be the fact that the fandom feels the need to state that they are males in their very name that would turn him off more than the fact that they have a name.

Yet the term Brony is used for all fans of the show that are older. Male or Female.

It's the MLP Trekkie, or any other show with a named fanbase.
