Unless I didn't read the thread correctly Im surprised no one has mentioned Death Note. I loved that manga, It was like a masterminds game of chess. I have also read or am reading (recommend):
- Naruto
- Bleach
- Prince of Tennis
- Hunter X Hunter
- HOTD
- Samurai X (Kenshin Himura)
- Death Note
- Vagabond

Who here has read One Piece? I know Oof has. Does anyone recommend it?
Right now I consider One Piece to be the best on going Shonen anime. It's the only one I fell actually get BETTER as it goes.

Naruto could have gotten the title of best on going Shonen anime, but Shippuuden sucks so much ass it's not even funny. And bleach is........... Um... Yeah.....

OreImo started out really strong, but the rest of the season wasn't as amazing as it was from my initial impression. The show has high quality production, and I think that touch is what keeps it worth watching through the whole thing; great animation, nice soundtrack, talented voice cast. The multiple characters have their own quirks to them, and the show reveals different sides of them throughout so they're very memorable by the time you're finished. The TV series is done airing, but there are more episodes of an alternate ending (in true VN fashion) coming out, so while the ending was lackluster, I'm looking forward to a different take on it.

If you're not too keen on otaku culture you might not be able to relate to a lot of the references in the show, but it's not like you can't enjoy it; it's just that you won't appreciate how much of a fan show it is.

Death Note was nice, but it is kinda old news. I mostly prefer the manga to the anime, if only because the anime over-dramatized things, and I'm not just talking about taking a potato chip and eating it.

Katanagatari is a series that just ended recently that I'd recommend. It's got the adventure, action, and fantasy elements of a shounen series with witty dialogue and character interactions to give it some depth. The art style is also one of the most unique styles you'll ever see in anime. Fair warning: each episode is 50 minutes long, though once you get into the show, 50 minutes will seem like nothing.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya is amazing. Amazing.

One Piece is by far the best show that's ongoing to date. It's so good it isn't funny.

Marathoned all of NEEDLESS today, it was a projection of complete badassery.

Nanoha movie is out, it's pretty good but at least it wasnt a FATE/UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS let down.

A few series I really enjoyed over the years

Zettai Karen Children
Slayers
Kenshin
Urusei Yatsura back in the day
Utena of all things
Captain Tylor
some others but can't remember off top of my head.

the only thing I'm enjoying out of the current crop is Railgun/Index. Then again, light novel stuff is the only thing you can count on to generally not suck these days (Sora no Woto was real good, Wagaya no Oinari-sama was fun, Guin Saga was pretty good, etc)

Itazura na Kiss. How is this anime? I'm almost done downloading it.

Very good anime. If you are a romance/harem type like myself, I strongly recommend it.

I have been watching Seitokai Yakuindomo for a bit now. It is a very funny anime if you like dirty jokes coming from left and right. I enjoy it alot. oh and to remind myself...

KIMI NI TODOKE SEASON 2!!!!!
