OFFCIAL TIER LIST. where are they?

I'm confused, this game has been out in America for a year now and yet I still can't find any real valuable information on official tier lists based off tournament results and move analysis. All you can find are people's opinions usually with bias toward a character they like or have a hard time against. Am I missing the offcial list somewhere? Its easy to find lists for street fighter IV, Tekken V and smash bros melee/Brawl but not for this game.

Thanks for your help everyone

The problem is that the discussion soon devolves into a trollfest/flamebait war about Hilde and Algol banning. And then on top of that people somehow have trouble putting aside their egos and objectively looking at each of their character's matchups.

So the general consensus is that Hilde and Algol are the highest tier which isn't too surprizing. These lists seem to reflect my own sentiments accept I found one thing surprizing. Why is it that all three lists put Mitsurugi and Ivy in the Mid tier (B or C rated, not even uppermid, just right in the middle) category. Are they really considered to be on the same level as characters like Apprentice, Yunseong and Nightmare and Raphael? I dont really understand why those two aren't higher up must be something I'm missing.

Only Tiamat has both Mitsu and Ivy in a very large C tier and the list itself is fairly dated at this point. You're better off reading the actual discussion itself to get a better idea of tiers in this game through the insight of the players.

I guess we're putting Algol up there because of some of the newfound bubble infinites? He's got some really terrible matchups, he's about as top tier as Zangief in SF4 if you don't count the Oofmatic bubble combos. Really dominant against some people, and really struggling against other top tiers like Amy and Kilik.

Tournament results don't matter obviously.

It's stupid arguing over tiers because in the end, it's all opinion.

As for what you said, no, I don't think tournament results really matter much, especially when there aren't a whole lot of people playing in tournaments in the first place. Your sample size is going to be too small to draw any sort of conclusion from it.

I still don't think Algol has disadvantage against Amy but it seems I'm the only one who thinks that *shrug*

reasons I commonly see people say for Amy having advantage are
1) algol is slow up close so amy can rush him down nice
2) B+K is good against bubbles

I usually counter by saying that Algol has strong TC moves and does a lot more damage. B+K doesn't exactly make bubbles useless either it just means he has to be more careful with them.

I think thats a terrible matchup for algol since she can b+k his bubbles to hell and get free combos sometimes for doing so. Then once shes in, he has to guess allllllll day, and since hes got hardly any step, he cant avoid the mixups really.

Evo had almost 150 people, thus by using this sample size the margin of error would be < 10% ... that is just the largest tournament (numbers wise), if you count any other major tournaments (regionals?) then this number will continue to drop (slowly)

The more I play this game, and see it played, the better the balance seems to be...it isn't perfect, but it isn't terrible, either
