That's a fan made trailer made up of leaked bits that were posted to the internetz. I kinda figured considering they used the opening song from Demon's Souls. I'm really hoping that the info that was leaked is not in fact legit, more specifically the part about it being Sony exclusive.

Who posted it said From Software + Sony Jap, all fit with the rumor that was around for months

Eh, I'll wait until I get some more info later on down the road to be hyped. Anyway, this might not even be a Souls game, could be something entirely new, or a Shadow Tower game. I'll share this vid here

So it's another dark or demon souls game but not called either. It looks a lot like them even borrowing the animations and dumb AI.

Since the first rumors (even before see the pics or know that DaS2 was made in B Team) one of the things said was that it will not be called Dark/Demon Soul... i guess it make sense: fans recognize it anyway, noobs don't get bumped away by a "2" or "3"

I will like it being named ever in spirit with the series (Beast Souls?) but who cares, get the "spin-off" and after in future DaS3 (hope made by A Team) sound good

Name is last of the problems, what i fear is if Sony push to make it too noob friendly
First time with DeS they probably did'nt see it as they see it now... hope they don't fuck up, but as nowcount me hyped

This thing is a collaboration between From and Sony's Japan Studio.

Bloodborne is the cover story of this week's Famitsu, and there's an interview with Miyazaki in it as well. Here are some details reported by a Japanese blog who got the magazine early.

- Spring 2015 release window
- They started work on this right after finishing Artorias of the Abyss, planning it for Sony's new hardware
- The world and story is completely new, and the setting takes full advantage of the PS4's capabilities
- The expected spec for the game is 30fps at 1080p
- The keywords for the game is "blood" and "beast"
- There will be melee and long range weapons (guns) this time
- Character customization is confirmed
- There will be no map display in the game
- He wants combat to not just focus on action but also the strategic element
- The combat in the game is designed to feel like a life or death struggle
- There will be online elements of some sort, and it will involve players "discovering" together

Hello, PlayStation fans. This is Masaaki Yamagiwa from Japan Studio.

I am here to talk about a new Action RPG, Bloodborne, which will launch early 2015 exclusively for the PlayStation 4 console. Bloodborne is a new collaboration for us, being developed by FromSoftware and produced by SCE Japan Studio. This game will transport players to a dark and terror-filled gothic world, a world full of deranged beings and nightmarish creatures.

Bloodborne takes place in an ancient, forgotten city called Yharnam, known for an old medical remedy. Over the years, many hopeless and afflicted people have made long pilgrimages to Yharnam in search of help. As the main character, you are one of these travelers. However, you find that Yharnam is also cursed with a horrible endemic illness. You must navigate the perilous streets of this city, fighting off nightmarish creatures, malformed beasts and deranged mobs stricken with this horrific illness. Face your fears as you discover the secrets and mysteries of this dark and horrific world where danger, death and madness lurk around every corner.
In Bloodborne, the combat is based on intense life-threatening battles. One of the ways we are bringing that sense of danger to life is by keeping the deep strategic elements from Demon’s Souls, while also transitioning from the passive and block-and-attack style of Demon’s Souls to a quicker, more offensive and active combat style with close-range weapons and guns.

Special message from Director Hidetaka Miyazaki:
“Creating Bloodborne as a completely new game on the new PlayStation 4 hardware has allowed us to really push the envelope in myriad ways. That being said, in more ways than one, it also very much retains our distinct, signature style. As has been at the core of our development philosophy since Demon’s Souls, we make true games for people who love games. Please watch for more to come on Bloodborne, and thank you very much for your support.”

We need a list of Bloodborne questions we've already answered too many times.
  • No, Bloodborne will not leave Sony systems and is not coming to a Sony system other than the PS4 in the near future.
  • Yes, it is an action RPG and not a pure action game.
  • No, there is no fixed protagonist, male or female. You can create and customize your character like in previous games.
  • Yes, there are other weapons besides the cleave-saw and the shotgun. In fact, marketing mentioned guns and cleave-saws plural.
  • No, this is not Devil May Cry or a button masher. The gameplay is likened to Souls without a shield or magic and with guns that stagger foes.
  • Yes, this is an interconnected world and there is no hub. Thank God.

Bloodborne is Dark Souls meets Resident Evil 4 - E3 2014
It's not got Souls in the title, but it's got the heart of that franchise.
