Raphael: Bugs and Hitboxes

new finding.....strange that nobody noticed...
A+B,A whiffs sometimes on grounded women randomly from hit 2 or 3

Couldn t yet determine if its a matter of position or because opponent is near a wall
Happens both in granted combos (1K CH) than as Tech Trap so it seems a hitbox issue or something similar.

But it happens quite often.
 
hmm mentioned it sort of either in this thread or the wishlist thread. This is the problem with too many threads. I didn't think it was gender specific, as I thought it was more angle specific (the way they lay on the floor), hence noticing the difference in connectivity between A+BA after 33B vs 99B (99B is way better)
 
in my experience it seemed like a result of a wrong collision when opponent was somehow near the wall..
Something similar to the glitsh that prevent raph to hist sith SE K near a wall but reversed on opponent that isn't pushed away enough when hit by the first hit of A+B....
 
Alright, was playing against Ivy AI today. I 66B+K'd over Ivy's leg sweep... successful jump, Ivy whiffed and is still in crouch from sweep... 66B+K connects...! and nothing. Ivy registers a hit, but takes no damage. Wtf?
 
While 22B into CE sounds "reliable" if the opponent crumples in a manner that allows 1B/A+BA as a followup (they crumple to raph's right) then the CE has a good chance of whiffing.

Apparently Ivy's pelvis is made of magic.

Just today I had someone randomly abusing Ivy's CE so I decided to 66B through it since it should tech crouch under the throw. And it did. And it also completely missed her for some reason, even though the sword was touching her, not even the least bit off axis. No clash or anything, it just went straight through.
 
Double post, but this is worth it, I promise.

I stumbled on a Raph bug yesterday that was most interesting. As in a GOOD bug, for once. And I have several witnesses who will attest that this really happened.

I was fighting a guy who used Aeon, and at the end of a match I was backed a bit towards the edge of the stage just doing 8wr. I was just screwing around, thought I'd do 44A+B (my input was actually more like 214A+B) but somehow, what came out was Prep A+B. I did this move without being in Prep. There was no mistaking the move; Raph reared back, laughed and poked Aeon right in the foot.

Unfortunately, it only happened once and I have yet to figure out how I did it. But this confirms the existence of something interesting. In the worst case it's a way to perform Prep A+B any time. In the best case, Raph may somehow be able to perform Prep moves without entering Prep.

Hopefully someone here has some idea what happened.
 
Shhhh, if Namco finds out Raph can use his good moves whenever he wants like every one else in the game they'll gimp it in the next patch.
 
My plan: Wiggle the control stick and mash A & B, lol. (And I usually use pad.)

The safest bet is that 214 into Prep is still in the game somewhere. The next safest bet is that you can trigger this code through something unforeseen when they tried to make the code unreachable.
44A+B does have a cancel into prep... and there is that "instant 236B" Mitsu glitch, if dubious. All this combines to make me hopeful this really could be reproduced.

But shit yeah, it will get patched into the corpse-riddled dirt if we actually do it. :(
 
@Mandritti If it is related to the Mitsu glitch it'll probably get patched out anyway. We need to find it before that happens.

Yeah let's keep it down. If Raph loses that or anything else good...it's all over. Remove that post Gojira. Let's try to keep experimenting while trying to get buffs in the next patch.

Hitbox issues with 2/8 B+K even when you should be able to land it. Example: AA, Step oponents BB. 2B+K whiffs by a mile even thogh it should land in this situation. I can land 2/8 B+K when im withen kissing distance of some ducking opponents as well. Personally I would like to see the hitboxes reverted back to Soul calibur 3 or fix the whiffing issue and make this move a little more useful. also 2B+K 3B {re[ BBB does not cause crumple stun since it began the same stun began the combo.
 
I don't like how tip range AA/AB will have the 1st hit push them so far back that the 2nd hit will whiff. Its kinda like the opposite of 4(B)'s problem because I believe that they intentionally wanted the pushback from 4(B) and remembered to make sure the pushback feature gets turned off at a certain range of the sword (which they did incorrectly).

AA in this case I don't see single A being nearly as viable as SC4, so the pushback on the first hit is pointless and needless detrimental.
