SC Community needs to move on....

tbh, i think to bring up this community again we're going to have to make some tough desicions. Period. And as long as we get past the few bumpy roads it'll be smoother for the rest of SC4's life. And if we're wrong. Then we're wrong. But my problem is the community doesn't want to fix whats wrong. I just have 1 clear solid point.

Make a Rule; and make it universal.

If they can't oblige, then honestly they shouldn't compete in tournaments. I see people bitch about the Lag in Evo, but what are you going to do? Haul a 32" tube tv because of non-lag? Yea...i like to see that happen
 
That was my mindset when I got behind the Hilde/Algol ban in the NE. To my mind, it was banning binds or Hilde. Algol is a different kettle of fish. As for the lag issue- yes, I do haul Tube TV's around with me to mitigate lag at tournaments I attend, however I see your point.

Something needs to be done; even if we disagree on what it is; at least we both agree its time.

The tough decisions have been made on the east coast... Hilde and Algol are banned and have been for a long time now. Pretty much all conclusive evidence has shown us that this has been a GOOD decision. It seems to me is that all people are waiting for is me to step up and declare that Hilde/Algol is banned from all North American tournaments. I never wanted to force our decisions on the east coast to the rest of the country; seeing as how controversial it was. But at this point point I don't think anyone can argue that we made a mistake. The interest is still so high on the east coast that when I stopped running my tournaments, THREE tournaments sprung up to take it's place. People WANT to play on the east coast, and no one is really bitching that much.

So if you want me to do it... here goes...

PER OFFICIAL 8WAYRUN GUIDELINES... HILDE, ALGOL AND BONUS CHARACTERS ARE NOW BANNED FROM ALL TOURNAMENTS!

Binding remains legal.

lol no one agreed on you Jaxel. Grant it, i love your way of thinking. But 3 or 5 people in Major Areas should vote on it. Don't get me wrong, lay down the law by all means. But still keep it a Democracy, not a Despostism style of desicioning.

:D If anything, i'll rep the TX/Southwest Region, i don't mind. And i don't think Idle does either. and also, i'll still keep up with lobo <3

Dino or OOF should be Canada's rep.
Idle should be Southeast's rep
someone from CA should be The Pacific's rep
and finally, you'll be the rep for NE

Meaning, 5 people = no possible way for a Tie. As well as it'll at that point be official for the community as a whole. Personally i don't see anything wrong with that...

now if anything Jaxel, i'll go ahead and suggest the 5 peeps that are ACTIVE on the forums should be desicioned by you, gotta have 2 sides to every rule :D

it's ironic that this topic is about moving on and all I see are people running around in circles with the same old ban talks as always
 
Then it is done. As i have stated, i don't disagree. I just want to make sure my signature is acknowledged. that is all.

btw, this doesn't hinder the GAMME and Devastation torunaments does it?

DEVASTATION will use the community rules. If the community wants Hilde/Algol banned, then that's how DEV will be run. If things change, or there's support for allowing one or both characters, our rules will change to whatever is wanted by the community. We cater to the community.
 
With that being said, Dogg is supporting the rules, then so be it. At this point as a community it's time to get back into business and start making sure that items are implemented for the right reasons and not for own selfish greed.

Also, with this being as evidence as the community moving on (weather they they like it or not) it's probably best to have this thread locked.

Good stuff, though. I've been a supporter of No Bans all along, but I'm more a supporter of a unified community.
 
I wish there was a better way, but this was the best way to do it. This issue has gone on for too long and democracy did not work.

But now is the time to move on from this and for everyone to go back and have fun playing this game. I wish every scene for SC was having as much fun as we are with this game on the east coast. Hopefully this will take us a step into that direction across the country.

It's more just logic. The issue is Hilde using binds, not other characters. So if you simply eliminate the one character abusing binds problem is solved. Beyond knowing that it's a bannable concern, I need not know what binds do for her. I don't see how I can be contested on this logic.

Damn RTD got the beat stick again. Ceirnian what's he supposed to do. Did every other region agree to these rules. Texas, ATL, Norcal, etc.

I can't believe what i'm seeing lmao.

If so I need to know one thing. IdleMind since u have a major hand in GAMME the rules are still set in stone the way they were right for this upcoming GAMME?
 
SU: I don't like this as much as you do and neither does Idle. But you're going to have to look at this from outside the box. People are right, Democracy isn't getting us anywhere. However i don't think that it's going to Absolute for all eternity. I'm pretty sure that the rule can always be overturned with enough given evidence. Problem is this...

At Nats, Algol was banned. And alot of people had a great time. Besides, Algol is already banned in Japan as well as Europe. I'm sorry to say, but you're going to have to follow the title of your own thread and move on.

Not to get too much off topic, weather or not the eules change for GAMME doesn't matter at this point. I'll support it because of the game SOUL CALIBUR. Not because of the rules. It's that time you start seeing it that way as well. Trust me, the uproar of bitching will die down and allow people to play the game w/o worrying about bubbles, the "doom" combo, etc. They can ACTUALLY bitch about something else (which'll be Amy...but whatever...amy CAN be beat with ease.)

Oh and about Ceirnian, i'd like to see how that turns out. dude wouldn't play me with Mitsu but had some DAMN nerve playing Agustin with mitsu....bastard. XD

U do have a point in regards to Algol. I still think the ban is dumb but its no major issue concerning him as he has been banned in a number of places for some time. So i'll take that as a whatever. So I see ur point.

On the issue of Hilde I will forever disagree and as a competitor it makes me think less of this game as a serious competitive game. It makes me feel that a number of people in this game are to soft (the way i'm using it refers to what defines a competitor and his/her drive etc.). So in essence it makes the community look weak (those that support the Hilde ban anyway).

Dare I say it lmao. Ceirnian was right when I first tried to do what u are doing now with the whole Hilde thing when it was an issue along time ago and he called me a scrub for catering to the scrubs who complain about it. I guess he was right as I don't feel the need to cater to the few who are scared of Hilde per say which again goes back to making me feel that its lame behavior for a competitor. Then part of me says we are so far in and established and therefore its unjust to enforce new rules like this.

Hilde has no dominance in any country, at any major, at anything at all in this game. THAT IS FACT! That alone proves the point that the competitive community that are scared off by Hilde are not true real competitors. She wins nothing for the most part. Other than that no one can even provide proof on the east coast that banning Hilde provided better results. I still have yet to see it. Cause I still see the exact same people that used to go show up at tourneys regarding east coast results and not to mention less of them.

I will be at GAMME however cause I committed to it already and I thinks its value is great for the community so I will support it. Plus it has a nice guaranteed pot and i'm going there for other games as well. However the rules that were enforced before should remain the same for that event as it was set in stone a long time ago and it would be wrong but then again well look at this argument once again so who knows lol.

Like I said before I have moved on but reiterating; I took it even one step further in that I canceled even going to DEV if this rule is enforced (posted in the DEV thread already). I already stood by a maybe but its funny even thinking about it. The best player in that area/region is Ceirnian and are u telling me he has to accept the fact that in his own region he can no longer use Hilde because one East Coast SC member says so going two years into the game. That is so wrong on so many levels. Talk about an immense disservice to the community that is still present.
