SCV Character Creation Discussion

Rambling....

Actually, 50 is not a bad number. I can understand 16 like in SCBD, but 50 is a fair amount. I mean, I don't go out and make 1000 ninjas, vikings, knights, and all lol. I like a few handful so my mind won't lose focus. I mean, I always get the feeling that sometimes less is more as to quality is better than quantity imho. In this case I like sticking to 10 CAS of mine that will some story and their stereotypical roles.....of course I give them multiple outfits to get into the character design and all. Example, tomboyish ninja chick gets a lot of customizing from japanese stuff lol. If I made thousand female ninjas, I would lose focus due to the fact there's too many. With just one female ninja, I could pretend I'm the character and figure out what outfits should suit her best and which should be kicked to the curb.....if whatever logic I'm going by makes sense.
yea ur right

ikr and now u have more too do now with the character creation like pattens and stickers etc. y not more slot come on im tired of my ppl wearing same outfit

Y'all are just OD with the 2p outfits for your created characters. I had 12 original characters and the rest where standard recolors and outfits.

OD is slang for over doing it.
I know I'm OD, don't care either. Might as well abuse the 50 slots :D

I had mine full and if I felt that it was getting old I would change a few pieces of equipment and the color scheme except for my pink and black Maxi.

Well I'm sure we've all seen that most recent Character Creation video, incase some haven't I guess I'll mention a few things that I noticed:
1) There are still 50 slots, and it looks like making an extra outfit/recolor for an already existing character uses one, like in SCIV. Also, I may be wrong but it appears that when you select this outfit/recolor to use in battle, it'll be from the same section as your other customs.
2) When selecting height for a custom, "Speed," "Ease of Use" and "Attack Rate" are unaffected, while "Power" decreases the taller the build, and "Reach" increases. Gender and Base Body type don't affect these either. Also it displays a "*" for the suggested height to choose for a particular fighting style. I wonder if choosing a style meant for a taller character(like say, Astaroth) and giving it to a short character will result in buggy animations... Hope not.
3) At least from what we've seen in the female screen, most of the hairstyles are directly recycled from SCIV(Which I actually don't have a problem with TBH) From Top left to bottom:
[None] [Geometric Short] [Cornrows] [Bowl Cut]
[Short Bob] [Bob] [Jagged Layers] [Ivy's SCIV 2P]
[Long Straight] [Hilde's SCIV 2P] [Fairy Curls] [Ponytail]
[French Braid] [Braided?*] [Chinese Braids] [Grand Dame]
[Separate Flower] [Geisha] [Blaze] [Afro]
[Pyrrha 1P*] [Natsu 1P*] [Leixia 1P*] [Viola 1P*]
[Ivy 1P*] [Tira 1P*] [Sophitia SCIV 1P?*] [Hilde's 1P*]

*= Hairstyles that are new/weren't previously available.

So I guess we can just go ahead and assume all the male 1P hairstyles will be available as well. I wonder about the 2Ps, though...

Edit: Were there extra/unlockable hairstyles in SCIV? I know there was unlockable equipment obviously, but I can't remember that far back if there were more hairstyles.

Dissapointed by the lack of a ponytail(besides Blaze which guys should have) and especially the Updo which Natsu's hair seems to be a cheap knockoff of. Hopefully the 2P hairstyles are available as well.

^Not to mention that Taki looked asian in SCIII and down.
Yeah, Taki was another one whose face changed drastically and not in a good way in my opinion. You're right, she did look Asian in the older titles. Same with Kilik and Xianghua (though she didn't look too terrible in SC4). Ivy's face looked awesome too until IV. I think the only only one who still looked okay and transitioned well was Sophitia and Zasalamel. The others who weren't monsters were bad...

Even though they did recycle faces from SCIV, at least they reworked the graphics so that everyone doesn't look like they were carved out of wood. I'm pretty content with that.

We didnt get to see much of the Character Creation, but I'm positive that there'll be much more faces to pick from than in IV.

We already know we can create very fat characters, but how about skinny characters? Can we create skinny chracters at all?

Yeah, there are "only" 3 additional female faces, but the probably 20+ face paint choices(which includes a handful of usable makeup options) means that there will actually be much more variation than in IV.

More like we've only seen 3 additional faces. Being as the content available in CAS has hopped around betwen videos, I'd say it's more than likely that there'll be more in the retail game.

Oh, and the number of facepaints goes up to at LEAST 66- and they also seem to include certain facial details such as the highly requested option to give your character...
