I'd rather it be something like The Gauntlet from SC:BD (for humorous purposes), or Weapon Master Mode (except, that you can buy CaS equipment and weapons if you don't want to go through the mode to unlock them all).

Out of the modes SC has made Chronicles of the Sword was the best and I hope that they put it in SCV and if they do,(Which I hope) They will need to edit some of the little problems so COTS can be a better mode. I hope that they bring back the store from SCIII with the cashiers. I remember Valerie. She had some Ivy boobies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only thing I hated about COS was the house mashing part, it took too long. If there was a fast forward button or a skip animation option Id like it more.
But, the mode was needed to give the created souls a purpose in the game. Making them just for Arcade is no different then just choosing the second player outfits. Whats the point?

I actually LIKED COS...also not that this should be mentioned in the thread but I miss the special modes like the coin mode and the "hot potato" mode...

My thoughts:

Yes have a story mode central around a cas. However, Make all combat in standard soul cal fashion. Have towns where you can spend money on weapons, unlockables etc (have the tales studio work on that part). And when you beat a particular character, you can learn that style.

I think the whole purpose of Chronicles of the Sword was to include the created characters into a story and make them relevant. SCIV lacked that.

So I say yes. If they include the canon characters and story then that's fine. Just as long as created characters are considered as relevant.

I think it will or atleasr something like it, creat your team from your fav fighters and be able to name your team :) that would be awsome but it must be long, not to many lvls but enough not to finish in a day....

I'm curious if the confirmed offline mode Legendary Souls will be something like Chronicles of the Sword. If Daishi, Tago, and company did listen to the fan base then they will realize that people really enjoyed CotS mode in III and felt that something for the CAS characters was missing in IV. Hopefully we can find out more about LS mode and whether it is going to be like CotS when they begin revealing the offline and online capabilities of the game.

I just want something long that features your character. It would be a lot better if your character was a soldier in Hilde's new army, she commands you and you go through trials, however I liked Weaponmaster better, its just short.

I can say these points:
1. Personally, Edge Master, and Weapon Master are the true essence of the series.
2. The series does need some longevity on the offline side of things. SB-SC3 do have that, but SCIV does not.
3. CaS needs a mode that makes them relevant. Whether it be a story mode or something like Edge Master.

While Quick Match is actually a pretty decent mode that brings CaS creations to the spotlight, I'm still a bit curious as to why Legendary Souls exist.

So should Chronicles of the Sword return? The "offline" side of me says yes, for the sake of making CaS creations relevant and purposeful.

However, another side of me is suggesting a Edge Master or Weapon Master-like mode instead.

I think it would be nice to have Chronicles of the Sword with the new graphics, but I think they should first fix the main Story Mode giving each character an ending or something like that

I say just gimme a proper single -player mode. I've been playing the series since SC1 and have started to get irritated with the lack of offline content that made me get interested in the series. Even a Weapon Master mode would suffice

I did like the fact that Chronicles allowed you to put some good use to a CaS character. However, I buy fighting games to play fighting games, not to play RTS games. I would like it if they went a did something similar, allowing you to use your CaS characters in their own little story, but not like that.
