Siegfried SCV Non-Gameplay Related Discussion

Can't believe Sieg got a buff. This must be a field day for you Syn.
However NM is looking decent from the tidbits of vids I can find. Maybe I can enjoy that good ol NM/Sieg Rivalry matches.

Still with the current "Buffs" (I need to re-watch some more SCV Sieg matches to determine his buffs) Will that place him in High tier or just Upper-Mid tier now?
I forget everything you know about SCIV. Well not everything actually, but understand that game changes don't have to buff him directly to make him a better character. They could make the SCIV Sieg we know today a better character by adjusting the characters in IV that currently give him bad match ups. Relatively, this would be a buff for Siegfried.

SCV is a new game with a new system with different mechanics. You might be able to say you can spot his buffs based off your SCIV knowledge, but we can only really compare the strength of his tools to tools other characters have available in SCV.

reading this "discussion" got me anxiety, all this is dumb to me >_<
n_n 1st of all, the SC5 videos featuring Sig are NOT well played at all (like, why the fuck do most Sigs run up close to rivals when the character has a 6ft long zweihander? wtf!?), non of the characters are well played. To me, those little tournies at France seemed very off-skilled (specially defense-wise), & it understandable because the game is NEW, not an upgrade to SC4, but NEW! (like SC2 was) And everyone was just happy & exiceted to be playing it before MANY!

Anyway.. If Sig happens to be an easy-to-win-with character, that would suck big time, at least to me..
I don't like one bit how is that SSH'A+B & RSH'A+B are not in, shit >_< Also I'm already missing even SCH'A+B.

^_^ Another thing is, when I read that "Sig's CE seems poor, etc." it sickens me. I won't say why, I'll just show everyone when the game comes out & I get to finally record & post videos, yea I'll show what range is about..

Hmm Siegfried does indeed look better (stronger, somehow faster, new tools) than he was, but I'm not really sure if we can tell from now if he's gonna be the best of all...
I'm really scared of the new Nightmare (too fast) and Pyrrha, and I fear that Viola and Zwei may be too good... Well Zwei and Viola are new but from vids and descriptions they seem to have some good moves...
I am not an expert, but this is my point of view...

But I am excited to hear some good news for Siegfried even if that may be proven wrong in the future... (There are others who haven't been shown yet as well, also the game is new so a year after its release, all of the characters will have been studied inside out and then we'll be able to say for sure)

BTW, I think Pantocrator's opinion is the most accurate here for now, since he plays Siegfried and he tried the SCV version, so he knows...

What is this silliness about Nighty being faster? He actually seems worse than before (barring his CE) with the same speed, less range and HUGE recovery on his 3B.

NM's agA seemed less range to me, but his 6A seemed longer than in SC4. NM's CE seems to work like a defensive-counter attack like Cage's X-Ray, Remi's SAIII, etc. It's GI & boom!

NM's agA is shorter than Sieg's now
I think that's the compensation for its GB
overall NM seems got nerfed really bad
the only good things about NM is his CE
(I hope we'll found a good use for Sieg's CE )

anyway...
I'm still worry about Sieg's match up against Pyrrha
after seeing the latest french match video >_<
I hope we'll found a good methods to deal with Pyrrha

Jesus...

1. This is Sieg's arena, discussion about NM to his arena.please.
2. How can ANYONE! say I can do better than..... if the game is not even finished?
3. Sieg indeed looks better, but we dont know about the mechanics of the game, everything has changed so we dont know till we play it. I am of course optimistic cause I do like the changes they did on Sieg.
4. An OP Sieg will suck! to use, I like an UP Sieg cause is much more challenge to win.

Sieg's CE doesn't seem all that bad to me. Sure it doesn't do a ton of damage, but, it seems to push your victim back quite a ways, which is where you want them. It also wall hits at 1:53 in this vid: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emTMYhf9Wlc&feature=channel_video_title so maybe it can ring out too, or have some nasty wall combo followup potential (assuming you were both closer to the wall initially).
If it has ringout ability with THAT range, that'll be one hell of a CE!

Ok, so we just recieved Ring's SCV writup on Ivy in depth, really interesting read, I recommend everyone to take a look at it here.
So, how does this apply to Siegfried players you may ask? Ring also mentioned (And being one of the best and most experienced players in Europe, I trust his judgement) that currently, Siegfried is the strongest character in SCV!!!!!

Now this may be subject to change, however we are 3 months away from release and I doubt he will be changed significantly, so to all my fellow Manfrieds: The wait is over, NAMCO has rewarded our dedication to mediocrity and good luck to all of us in Soul Calibur V!
And to all the tier whores out there - I will be among the first to laugh at you when you start maining him =P

Discuss people ^_~.
Great, but being ubertier so far from the release risk to cause massive nerfhammer

Yeah but, I doubt you'd ever hit anyone clean with it at far range, due to its linearity. But there could be some combo into it with amazing ring out range. Plus the travel distance is almost certainly just the length of the crystals, hit someone at tip range and they aren't going to just push along with it.

It also creates a ground stun at 3:41. Maybe 66B could have connected or even better the new B4 string if you are closer to a wall

From what I've seen so far (and I've only seen the videos), its travel distance is about a third to half of a stage, so playing aggressive and getting a launcher in as a setup for Siegfried's CE might be a considerable tactic. True, it's likely to be dodged when started from a distance, but then again the cooldown time seems pretty short so it might be worth a try.

Ring said:
For the moment the best characters in the game have to be Siegfried, Mitsu, Pyrrha, and Asta.

So, that was the first impressions by an (GREAT) Ivy player. He didn't say that Siegfried is the strongest Character, but one of the best characters. It's about 5 pages now, only with this deformed quote and funny/random speculations, good game. Hahaha.

For the moment a lot of people overate Siegfried, because he has a lot of new stuff, and they don't know how to deal with it. I remember, during the firsts months of SCIV in France, some people said that Siegfried was top tier !
But keep in mind, like I told in my repport, he still has 2 mains weakpoints : slow and unsafe. In this video you can appreciate how Siegfried has some troubles with fast characters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emTMYhf9Wlc

About the CE in this build, like I told => Trash can.
No Damage, no ring out, whiff so often.
Siegfried need BE most of the time to be strong. You don't have to waste it to add 20 damage at the end of your combo ! Even in whiff punishment beacause of the whiffs and the damages it's not interessting at all !
But I'm not worried about this, it's just a DEMO. I hope it will change.

Great, but being ubertier so far from the release risk to cause massive nerfhammer

In this case I'm counting on Synraii to create and animate a topic like
"SIEGFRIED LAST IN SCV :'((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( (PLEASE NAMCO)"

Ok - a lot of good points here, I'll break this one down and hopefully adress them all:

Yes when I read his report, that is indeed what he said - but Ring did go a little further in a conversation I subsequently had on his profile - for the sake of convenience, I'll post the key things here:

You should stick with Siegfried if you want to win tournaments. He is currently the best character in the game.

A lot of characters have been buffed. Maxi for example. He is also very different, I had no idea what was going on, the moves looked similar but worked differently. Siegfried does incredible damage, he seems to have everything. Everyone has problems against him now.
(End Quote)

Now, I agree that it may turn out to be a case of him being overrated, but I'm hoping that he is as strong as Ring thinks he is - I mean, he's not a Siegfried player, but he is a great player nontheless and since then, it turns out Keev has been rating Siegfried as really strong also. =/

If Siegfried was as bad as Yoda, I'd still be a Siegfried main, but the fact that top players are being given significant problems by him is great news for us and this is more of a hype thread than anything.

For the moment a lot of people overate Siegfried, because he has a lot of new stuff, and they don't know how to deal with it. I remember, during the firsts months of SCIV in France, some people said that Siegfried was top tier !

How great would it be if he was top tier this time though? =D
I know he has weaknesses - but were he fast and safe, he wouldn't be Siegfried, what it comes down to is if his strenghs compensate or overcompensate this time: lest we forget Algol had to be played defensively due to his weaknesses to be sucessful in SCIV and he was still top tier...

In this video you can appreciate how Siegfried has some troubles with fast characters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emTMYhf9Wlc

In fairness - Siegfried is about space control against the fast characters and Chris did spend the first match trying to rush down Pyrrah, who doesn't have TAS B now, lol. Not to mention he was fighting Keev of all people... On a side note - KEEV CUT HIS HAIR?!?! =(
This makes me sad - it looked awesome long...

About the CE in this build, like I told => Trash can.

Yeah, I got the same impression, but his BE's do indeed look pretty damn good, so having acess to Sieg's A game with little metre, I would argue is an advantage, perhaps?

In this case I'm counting on Synraii to create and animate a topic like
"SIEGFRIED LAST IN SCV :'((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((( (PLEASE NAMCO)"

Hahaha, if it comes down to it Panto, I will do XD.
