ATTENTION: - I present my long list of requirements for this installment of Character creation for SC5. Its a whopper.
1.
We need more hairstyles, I cant emphasize this enough. SC4's too limited I nearly threw up on my controller. We need a lot more to accompany both genders, is it that hard to just research hairstyles of that century within different cultures and copy them? Im tired of the random pieces. However even that wont be complete unless we can adjust the styles themselves as well.
In SD vs RAW there are different versions of a selected hairstyle. (long or short / Parted or bangs) and adjustment to the length of the hairor choose where the pony tails hang from.
2.
We need more toggle options / Better faces. Anything we add must give us the option to morph, lengthen or shorten and position. Face adjusting should be no exception. I HATED the faces given in SC4 and SC3 (SC3 had the most variety though,
SC4 had A LOT of ugly ones for no good reason.) Its almost as if Namco was trolling there. 2 good faces and 5 hideous ones?
Instead of pre-existing faces, add diferent features like a list of head shapes, nose shapes, eye shapes and lip shapes. In most CAC games, you can make your eyes as big as you want, slant them, space them, raise them, lower them etc. In SC the faces are just masks? SC4 lacks this and it just limits my creativity, I dont want all my characters to be cute or ugly if I can't control it at will.
If we are stuck with preset faces,(which I'd rather not be) then allow us to choose the emotion of the face, I cant make an evil character with a damn cheery smile. Or make a serious young fighter with an ugly gargoyle face. Broken Destiny introduced fantasy elements like elf ears, Orc/Oni faces, etc. More of that please.
Mabinogi Heroes / Vindictus
This game above is probably the closest to what I invision. From the look of this mode, it seems like what SC5 should provide actually.
3.
We need better voices... Now, for the love of jesus,SC3 had decent ones but in short supply but they all sounded the same. SC4 had HORRIBLE ones ranging from annyoing, to generic to stupid sounding. We need realistic ranges. Hire VAs that can do a lot of different sounds like Chris sabat can. And where are the sadistic voices? This vid here is all one person.
I hate "This is gonna be great" or "Effort doesnt equal victory dumbass." Seriously, too generic...Atleast Broken Destiny Brought the SC3 voices back but its still not giving much variety. Also would it hurt to get new actors? I mean, Im getting alittle annoyed hearing Michelle Ruff (as good as she is, I want new people)
From what I assume, I think Viz Dubs this game so they should get more people for variety..
- Johnny Young Bosch
- Kate Higgins (amazing)
- Tara Platt
Bonus: - I want the monster voice like Abyss' for both male and female.
4.
Age: - What's to say but, where is the age toggle range? We should be able to make characters as young or youthful as Talim or Amy. Or as old and dry as Cervantes.
If Height were to be toggled then it should range from Talim/Amy's height, to Normal adult size.
5.
Costumes and clothing. Tekken has better culturally, no offense. If they are going to hire guest Artists, have them make clothing we can actually use, not throw away clone characters. Give them some use. Also, like what has BD, done, dont restrict gender to clothing options (except underwear) More unisex clothing options. More often than not, the females had awesome helmets that would look great on males, or the males would have better outfits in general. The females have too many dresses and dumb unrealistic stuff..I mean what If I wanted a girl to wear Rapheal's outfit? Broken destiny did this. Also... Armor destruction should be actual damage and not just have the pieces of clothing that magically disappear, they should rip and tear, not vanish into thin air.
Also, for CAS, Bring back older costumes for us to use or give to our characters. SC3 may have had the BEST 2nd costumes in the series. This also feeds those hungry for nostalgia or a favourite suit.
I can imagine all of the Cloud Strife remakes made if this costume and hairstyle was added to the mode but... (sigh) just bare with me. (Sigfried is
actually badass.)
In general I want them to heed my plea and bring back the costumes from the past games for CAS mode. This game could be all of 3s. Even characters what were killed off or removed from the rsoter could offer thier clothing for fan service. I'm sure there will be people who would dress Natsu up like taki. I personally would want to give Pyrra her aunt's outfit.
Personally, I think they put more detail into Cassandra's outfits then they did with Pyrrha's. So rather then complain for a redesign, I'd be satisfied with the costume.
- Layering, Some equipment dont fit exactly as they are supposed to (e.g. Cloaks dont look attached to neck, Necklaces are hidden behind clothing) and don't look "right". I also hate "conflicting equipment" take that out.
6.
Full body face paint, make up, tattooing. Male and female. Give us various traditional designs to choose from. In SC3 all there was were flowers for men...why? WWE games allow players to choose the size of the tattoo, the placement and with its layer system, we can have more then one. It also allows you to choose your character's eye types as well. Why give a cat costume and no actual cat eyes? Im tired of mediocre cosplay. Also if its a male character you can add facial hair and female characters you can add make-up don't preset them to the face... Simply put, cosmetic creativity and stat creativity should be two completely independent concepts. That's probably the biggest change I'd like to see in SCV.
7.
All colors on a character's clothing piece should be aviliable to recolor. In SC4, there are shades of red in Taki's 2nd player outfit that cant be recolored.
8.
Alinement. This should be more then just stat related, the ideal look of your character could revolve around it from the ground up. In SC4 Alinement virtually meant nothing as your character would stay the same even if neutral. It should effect the voices and faces you get to select. Just because it says Im evil doesnt make me evil if I look like Talim. And there sould be some effect or benifit if you choose to be good or evil. Let us make undead souls like revenant,
Skeletons should be aviliable under the evil Alinement.
9.
Taunts, we should be able to customize since they don't really require anything. I think it would be funny to See nightmare or Seigfried to Seung Mina's Taunt or Talim do Astaraoth's taunt. In Saints Row, you could choose from a variety of taunts reflecting on your character's personality.
10.
Stats should not be tied to clothing. It is beyond irritating to not be able to get creative with stats preventing it. And the overlapping problem is annoying. Like If I were to wear Xanghua's 2nd player outfit, I cant wear anything else but gloves or shoes? Stats should be aquired another way or through costumizable weapons. I'd like to see health/attack stats/perks having an independent progression system rather than binding stats/perks to gear. That way we can actually design characters that look cool AND have good stats. With SC IV's customization, you had to gear up looking like a total goofball in order to have the absolute best stats available.
(but hey, Special Mode is only played by people that can't win in standard anyway, so.....yeah.)
(A glowing maxed out soul edge + glowing eyes would be perfect for evil chatacters)
SD vs RAW allows created Wrestlers to also have different types of eyes (human and non human)
