Soul Calibur 5 - New Character Creation Mode Gameplay!

So 3 of 11 faces are actually girl's faces? thanks namco. I love transexuals. For fuck sakes let us edit them ourselves.

That's nothing eyebrows can't fix.

LMAO!! Just kidding.

WHO WEARS SHORT SHORTS

I WEAR SHORT SHORTS
I don't but one of my characters will. lol

All the more chance to one-up them once the game releases!

And, I'd argue they did a stellar job in the initial reveal.

On the matter, I took a look at the stream CAC sample to find some female stuff. They showed even less than I remember, but I've got two things:

The quality of the stream was piss-poor too, so bear that in mind.
The last 3 female faces are new to Soul Calibur V. The rest are from Soul Calibur IV. I'm sure there will be more in the retail game.

There are at LEAST 66 face paint options.

I see the face that looks like ICarly/Miranda Cosgrove has returned, or at least it looks better than the face on SCIV. lol

I sure do hope there are more face options though, especially if they are planning on making the limit either 50 or more. It's unlikely with the amount of voices, but good that there's more voices though.

Hey, that armor is pretty cool. We can already use 1p hairstyles of existing characters in CAS, so hopefully 1p costume parts will be avaliable to us, too. (That wasnt avaliable in SC4, sadly)

Yeah, i liked making Kilik's 1P coat purple, imo the more options for character creation the better.

Normally i would agree with you Ryuhza, but not when it comes to character creation, mainly because SCIV's creation was so utterly lazy and underwhelming we deserve a far better version of the CaS system.

Other then that though, im satisfied with everything, you can't go wrong with more clothing options thats already in the game on the disc.

And leave us only the generic recycled random pieces from SC4? no thanks. The main characters have the best clothing.

I agree that SCIV's clothing wasn't very good, but I'd rather have Namco have a variety like SCIII, than have us being able to use the main character's clothes. SCV seems to be doing a good job with that.

Even in the incomplete item lists they've shown us, there are plenty of new and interesting outfit pieces they've added in Soul Calibur V. Can't you be pleased by anything?
No, Im not a 2 dollar whore. I want quality. Its a given that something has to be new but, clearly not enough if so much is recognizable from the last game especially the bad stuff. BD was revolutionary for its use of 1p outfits in the CAS as well. After seeing a majority of naturally mutilated faces offered in this mode under the expectation for use. Who can be impressed? With SC3 and BD still having a vast amount of better equipment not even recycled here at the least over the most generic outfits they chose to add. I am not even enticed.
When I say "new" I want, brand new.

Well, it's hard to forgive the horrible variety, if you want to call it variety at all in SCIV, the only thing SCIV does better then III or BD is the fact you can give most gear all multi-colored trimming besides the base cololr.

Something III and BD failed to do, however III and BD had more gear in general due to "some" (not all) 1p's being included along with 2p's. just imagine how much less items there would be if there were no 2p items available for CaS in IV, we'd have almost NOTHING to work with.

However if Daishi-san can promise more new and original Items in CaS then im all for it over having 1p gear, but lets be honest, thats not going to happen, im actually starting to doubt we'll even get 2p clothing from main characters this time.

Still, is the incessant complaining regarding Soul Calibur V's creation system really necessary?

I mean, they've added new and fantastic features in spades, and we still don't KNOW just how much new content we're in store for equipment/face-wise. No, they aren't going to add a face editor at this point, that just something you're going to have to get over- but assuming that all the available faces are going to be crap at this point is just useless pessimism.

As far as content quality goes, it's all subjective. I'm glad they're recycling from SCIV and Broken Destiny. The more the merrier.

Yes, it is justified as it is incomplete.

Well, were just gonna have to wait and see, my opinion stands though. I certainly hope your right about the content thing Ryuhza, i actually want to be wrong about this subject, but you can't ignore past mistakes in a lazy character creation with very few content.

As for customizable options, i admit the improvements are sharp and marked since V is borrowing from Broken Desinty, the ability to move certain items anywhere on your characters model really streams the creative juices, buts its not the customization that im worried about, its the amount of items we'll have total to use, it's to early to say anything right now, far to early, so i take back most of the negative comments that i said about CaS SCV, but i still have my lingering doubts.

On the bright side, the 4 extra handsome/normal looking male faces alone is a good sign. also the 3 new female faces are nice to, versatility is what we need above all else, in gameplay and in presentation.
