Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

Its like I said before: Setsuka is a badass japanese-themed female rival to Mitsurugi... just like Taki. The difference is that Setsuka is not as iconic, has no interest in either Soul Edge or Soul Calibur and has no connections other than Mitsurugi (ignoring Patroklos, for obvious reasons). She has potential, but she is still just a lesser Taki.

I don't think the guest characters will be console exclusive (I never really was a fan of the console exclusive guest idea anyway). Even if it turned out to be the case, they'll just be banned from tournaments for obvious reasons.

I hope there won't be, also even if chances aren't too high but i hope for online crossplay, after SFV now i really think it's dumb when Fighting games communities are split.

I HOPE the guests won’t be console exclusive. Like, not even time lock exclusive a la Vader and Yoda.

If they have guests I want everyone to have access to the them at the same time.

Also I nominate:

A Bloodborne Hunter (Bloodborne)
William Adams (Nioh)
Little Caesar (Little Caesar’s Pizza... god damn those hot n ready pizzas and how affordable they are...)

I could see PS4 and PC crossplay. But PS4 crossplaying w/ Xbox One? Knowing Microsoft, I don't know.

Guest character concept alone is already a dumb idea, now if it will even be different guest character for each platform...

Though i can see why people may like it, and why it can has it pros in business wise. But for me i can't help but i just see it as a waste of resource that could have been spent for to make more original and new character or more other aspects for the game itself.

Yeah, since the game will be both on PS4 and Xbox it may complicate things for Online cross platfrome.

I just imagine exclusive characters potencial for each system:

I don't think the SC4 costumes would be that much work because they already have H/M/L break states. SC5 costumes only have 1 break state so they'll have to figure out how to divide it amongst the H/M/L or have to actually put some work into it.

The older costumes are not as nearly polished as the SC4/5 ones , especially put in 1080p and higher resolution.
I would rather they have costume breaks as an option. And even with DLC costumes they could just ignore costume breaks exactly like they did with Ezio and the Starwars crew in 4 and 5.

Bloodborne is PS4 exclusive and was something Sony had FromSoftware do exclusive under their banner. Published by Sony and everything because they own the IP. If you want a Bloodborne character on SCVI, it's only happening on the PS4 version. I doubt any would even get on the PC version any way but through modding.
Nioh is almost the same case. Sony published it everywhere except in Japan, where Koei Tecmo themselves published it. It's seemingly PS4/Sony exclusive console-wise and will stay that way.
It getting a PC port after the fact is only because Sony didn't get full publishing rights to it and own the IP like they do Bloodborne.
But again, if you want William from Nioh on SCVI, chances are it'll only happen on the PS4 version and probably PC too.

Microsoft has extended the olive branch to Sony several times. It's clear that Sony are the ones obstructing crossplay.
Sony refuses to because they're winning the console race. Allowing for crossplay with Xbox One essentially says that it's "ok" to have an Xbox One. They've been fighting that since both consoles were announced. They want the PS4 to be ahead and stay ahead. If anything, the only competition PS4 will realistically have is with the Switch if sales keep up the way that they have been for that system.
Anyways, Xbox One communities for multi-platform games, like fighting games especially, are typically dead in a short time or mostly dead in comparison to how active PS4 versions are. Sony just wants to give people no reason to get or have an Xbox One.
It's "shitty," but it's also business.
Keep in mind, Microsoft's big pushed games this year, Cuphead and PUBG are also on PC and give people even less of a reason to have an Xbox One or get those games because of being on that system when they can play them on PC.

When you think about it, Sony not doing this has been another factor to their console's success.
Those two games I mentioned that Microsoft got exclusivity for doesn't mean a damn thing when anyone can get and play those same games on PC, giving people zero reason to get an Xbox One/S/X to play those games on if it's economically smarter and cheaper to play either or both of their biggest offerings this year on my computer.
To make a long story short, Microsoft's two exclusive titles this year were more successful for being on PC and will continue to be because when the option is presented, people will opt to buy and play the games on PC as opposed to coughing up the cash for a console that can also play them, which doesn't have as much support and exclusivity for great games like PS4 (and Switch too).
In short, Microsoft is making their own console feel "obsolete" despite touting the power of the Xbox One X and its 4K and such, it doesn't matter at the end of the day to most consumers if it has nothing worth attracting them to the system, if things that are the best on it can also be played on PC.

Has anyone discussed Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn as the Sony guest for SCVI? If yes, what was the general opinion on the likelihood of that happening and if anyone would also like to see her kick ass on there?
