Because Tekken has worthy successors, and new games come with new characters with new styles, not just new skins and 3 slots for Mokujin, Tetsujin and (if it existed) Kinjin.
Also, the main reason is: Soulcalibur is not Tekken.

- Jun and Asuka is near mirror of Taki and Natsu,

My Leixia tech is so good, that if it was X she would be banned with automatic 10-0 matchups. This statement is fact & I don't hate Xianghua. I just don't like it when Xianghua was so OPed in SCIII. Her return confirms automatic 10-0 matchups.

Actually, what with the Soul Calibur Anniversary recently, they missed a great opportunity.
Should of made a game with that title.
Could have had cutscenes fleshing out all the characters & their motives. Old & new. Wouldn't of had to worry about story too much. Cuz anniversary, not canonical advancement. A convenient & sensible excuse.
