Soul Calibur 6 Discussion

I don't know about that, the stories have been getting a lot of attention and since MK9 it's been required you have an episodic story mode in your fighting game. I just wonder how good the story is going to be this time around, given the heavy story elements.

I think the last spin-off SC games could give some hints as to what they'll do with the SC6 roster.

SC Lost Swords had:
  • Mitsurugi
  • Siegfried
  • Sophitia
  • Amy
  • Astaroth
  • Cassandra
  • Cervantes
  • Hilde
  • Ivy
  • Leixia
  • Maxi
  • Nightmare
  • Patroklos
  • Pyrrha
  • Raphael
  • Seong Mi-na
  • Taki

SC Pachislo had:
  • Mitsurugi
  • Siegfried
  • Ivy
  • Patroklos
  • Pyrrha
  • Sophitia
Despite being based on SC5, Lost Swords only had 3 of the new characters from SC5 (Patroklos, Pyrrha, and Leixia), and it re-introduced Amy, Cassandra, Sophitia, Taki, and Seong Mi-na from SC4.

The Facebook banner could be another clue. If these characters are representing the series, I'd imagine them returning in SCVI.

Also, note that Kilik is SCIV Kilik with the staff. The leak specifies that he's reverted back to using the staff. Hmm...

I feel like many characters that were ditched in SC5 will make a return. I think Namco knows that many new characters weren't well received (or the fact that they simply replaced iconic characters without explaining why), especially after the favourite-character-poll that Talim won. Also every replaced character in the poll was a lot higher than their replacement in SC5 and the only non-veteran in the Top 25 was Viola. That speaks for itself.

Definitely. They can give Viola a rapier and a claw hand, but please no more orb.

I'm looking forward to what's ahead of us. Hopefully it'll wake up the community from its slumber.

Viola's moves don't matter.

I wonder how much of a factor the poll was. They were pretty clear when they said "VOTE FOR THE FUTURE OF SOULCALIBUR!". I hope they were using that as a basis during development.

Then I guess Talim must be the future of SoulcaliburKappa

RIP!

Talim will still not be viable.

Man, it's going to be so hard waiting for SCVI. I'm confident that our prayers have been answered, given that it's mentioned Kilik was reverted back to the staff and there are retcons to allow more flexibility. At long last, I'll finally have the true SC game I've been wanting since before SCV. Just 8 more days to go.

@Nyte are going to compete in tournaments after Taki comes back. I'm going to make Project Soul regret replacing Setsuka and make sure Xianghua is balanced so she won't be OP anymore.

Hoping for a super classy and sexy Ivy like in SC1,2,3,5, like she is supposed to be i mean. Not a porn bimbo like SC4's. PS please if you read this.

With Soul Calibur, couldn't they just use some sort of excuse to bring characters back like "Due to exposure to the Soul Swords/Astral Chaos, the character has stopped aging so they're back!" or something? I don't really care about the story in fighting games to be honest, I'd rather just play my favourite character assuming they make a return in the next installment. None of my friends really joined me in Soul Calibur V because all of their characters were just dropped with no replacements, so I kind of stopped playing myself. I hope we can see the roster return to pre-V characters. I like some of the new additions, and feel they have a lot of potential to grow, but please give us the classics back.

Of course they can pull out "stupid" ideas to bring our characters back, and make two generations coexist in the same timeline. Let's hope they find something better than Daishi's ideas...

I'm so hyped for PSX, but a part of me still expects to be disappointed... Again, I just wish I'm gonna be wrong ;)

Reasons to believe SCVI Reveal Soon
- Leaks from the Reddit Leaker, and Hayate
- SC Website taken down (indicating that a new one would be launched in its steed)
- SC's 20th anniversary

Reasons to distrust a reveal
- There is no concrete evidence suggesting a reveal
- SC facebook page and twitter have gone silent for some time now
- no information was ever dropped on SCVI

- SC Website taken down (indicating that a new one would be launched in its steed)
- SC's 20th anniversary
Those two could as well count as reasons to distrust reveal.
Website could be taken down, because SC is "officialy" dead and they don't want to keep it anymore.
20th anniversary was actually last year - so it was skipped with no announcement (aside from pachinko).

Just wondering, if Kilik has gone back to using the staff, what are the overall implications? Such as Xiba having no place now because his predecessor is using his weapon, plus the leaker specifying that there were "retcons". What do you think?
also @Leinahtan Kilik always had his weapon. Xiba never had Kali-Yuga...the REAL Kali-Yuga.
