Remember when SC3 had stages artwork? It was awesome

You know looking at the character select screen, IF they keep it like that I feel they'll use all of the SC1 roster besides Edge Master, Inferno, and Arthur and the 3 new characters. And if they feel like being evil have everyone post SC1 be DLC.

That's what i found from T7 October 2014 Location test, if you have more and BETTER screens quality, you can post them.

Main point and what is important to notice here is that Tekken 7, which is a game using same engine as SC6 looked way better when it was release compare to its first reveal. (and there are many videos on youtube if you wanna see more of it by yourself. In case)

I disagree about GG, game looks great, but mainly because of its art design, graphically wise it's great but nothing mindblowing.

Injustice 2 looks great as well, but it's 2D. 2D games are easier to make than 3D because movements are limited. Also Tekken 7 has real time stage transition, in Injustice it's cinematic.

Also another point is that Injustice 2 runs 30 fps when there are Super Moves/ Or Stage Transitions. Tekken 7 is 60 fps all the time.
I know that Fated Retribution updated Tekken's graphics. That was not my point.

Guilty Gear Xrd is not mind blowing but Tekken 7 with its low polygon models, is. Injustice 2 is one of the best looking games of this generation and its facial animations top notch. Frame rate is not a problem in those areas, they are not playable. It can be jarring but that's what you get when you chase the cinematic feel.

Soulcalibur VI faces the same problems that Tekken 7 did. Graphics are not that great (low polygon models, low resolution textures, shadows etc) but they don't have to be. Not every game needs to be a graphical powerhouse.

In my humble yet contested opinion, graphics aren't everything... if you take San Andreas, the game was really ugly for the era and the console, yet it was one of the best games to ever exist. Same goes for FFXIII, the game was beautiful but really short and boring...

Quality of content > quality of graphics

Beauty fades, but feelings of a wonderful gameplay and complete stories remain. Too bad dev focus on short but beautiful games rather than on long and average looking ones...

True - i still love to play older games (not only because of nostalgia)

Wasn't my point either. Well, to summarize:

Tekken 7 Location test as i posted from October 2004, that was the first gameplay reveal for T7, then when the game release in vanilla in February 2015 it looked way better. Also even after this they keep updating graphics slowly, Harada said that the Engine was so new, it took them a bit of time, more than expected, so they learn how to use it. That being said, Soul Calibur team probably won't have that issue since Tekken Team probably shared with them all UE4 datas, also it's likely that few people of Tekken Team are working on SC6 as well. (there were always mention of Tekken Team at the ending of Soul Calibur generic ending)

Only thing i agree with is the facial animation, which indeed are super great in I2 and probably the best in the genre.

I don't agree with the rest. First off, it's way easier to make great graphics when the game is limited to 2D movement, and even more if it runs at 30 at the most hot & clash moments. Even tho as i already mentioned before, there are some aspects i don't like about Tekken 7, but when it comes to graphics and technical aspects, Tekken 7 is the best looking fighting game so far imo, the game runs 60 fps during the whole battle no matter what happens in the screen, same thing can't be said about Injustice 2.

For me everything enter when it comes to graphics as i see it as a whole thing, level of freedom, map size, framerate and more. Obviously you can make the best looking game ever if your game have limited choices gameplay in a super small area. One of the reason on why a game like Heavy Rain looked super good graphically wise at its time. also you can add graphics if you limit the color palette (another tech some devs use).

PS:Not trying to downside any of those games btw, as i personally had a super great experience with Heavy Rain.

The Order 1886 anyone?

Personally speaking about SCV, i was so disappointed about SC4 that i didn't have any expectation about the game, but it ended up being a great Soul Calibur game, there were things that could have been better, but the game was still overall very good, and even godlike in some aspects, and easily way better SC4 (SC4 is the my least favorite SC game.)

My 3 best SC games:

1. Soul Calibur 3
2. Soul Calibur
3. Soul Calibur 4

Soul Edge is fine but nothing special, while 5 is the worst and u all can agree :)
I played Soul Calibur 2 only once on arcades so... No opinion at all

I hope Soul Calibur 6 will be awesome

The 2 most important vgame webs in Spain (that gameplay video and another one) say the next about the demo:

- Reversal Edge: Sudden Rock/paper/scissors kinda moment to help newbies have some chance against pro players. Pro players are not gonna like it but they assume it won't be used in pro gaming.

- SCVI is really agile, it gives more importance to being tactical, side-stepping and finding a chance to punish the opponent rather than using infinite combos like in SCV.

- Its a re-interpretation of the story of SCI. Thats why we will see many chars from SCI and SCII and some from III. Also new ones and guest ones. But the main intention is to see the most classic and charismatic characters of SC shinning again.

-It reminds A LOT of the first installments of the saga cause 1 good hit might be more important that a whole long combo.

- Critical Edges are very easy to execute an hit (as in SCV), but they dont take as much life as in other fighting games. Still can't say if they can be comboed on air.

- New Mechanic: Soul Charge makes your weapon shine and hit harder for some seconds consuming 1 bar.
God i am glad to hear that they are taking the emphasis away from long combos.
