SoulCalibur V is one of the worst SC games in terms of content and replayability.

It's just as of late they've really crapped out on the good single player stuff. Tekken Force, Devil Within and Dojo were all terrible

Single player in fighting games will always be a diversion at most.

You dont need to be such an ass about it. Maybe this person enjoys those modes. Its his opinion. Why arent people allowed to have thier own opinion.

For example. It is my opinion that the OP should not have the ability to make threads. Is it going to happen. Prolly not, But I think it would make it easier on the forums.

Now maybe your opinion differs from mine. Doesnt mean you have to be an ass about it!!

Staying on topic, character creation is a great way to eat up time and I think it's just as fun as online versus. When PSN went down for a few months I ended up filling all the custom slots in SCIV. That said I know creation isn't that appealing to everyone.

I agree that the single player content was lacking compared to the previous games, but maybe that's why the multiplayer portion was top notch. I remember reading a article in EGM where the development team talked about their struggles in developing the game so soon after the earthquake disaster, so I'm sure that had something to do with the lack of content.

I have to be honest, I don't care much about any of that but it is a great bonus. I first played SC and enjoyed Mission Mode. Then SC2 came out in arcades and all I cared for was playing the series competitively at that point. I'll be honest though, when I imported SC2 console version I loved all of the extras. It really was a good time and something to do when other players weren't over, in fact this past summer I unlocked everything over again via 360 B/C. To see something similar wouldn't hurt, it could only add more to do. I'm just happy the game is actually good, that really is what matters most to me, the rest is an undeniably fun bonus though.

Hahaha, I never played Shaq-Fu but I think that's a good indication that this thread needs to come to a close. It seems that the majority of us agree that although the extra content is lacking, it's forgiven thanks to some quality online multiplayer and all around gameplay mechanics. We should all be thankful this game didn't end up like KOF XIII, which has a shitload of extra content but the online sucks whale penis. It has theater mode, art gallery, team battle, multiple endings through arcade mode, etc etc, but the online is unbearable so now that game collects dust. Check & Mate
 
before buying a game do some research, that way you cant be disappointed when its not to your liking, also why in the world would anyone buy a fighting game for single player modes is a little bit beyond my understanding, in every fighting game ive ever played ive always gotten bored of single player in about an hour, and trust me im easily entertained.

To the extent you willingly restrict yourself to not playing versus, then maybe you have a point. Given the scope of your statement though, means that this thread should be closed.
