SoulCalibur VI: which 3 characters do you most hope for?

  • A brand new character

  • Amy

  • Cassandra

  • Hilde

  • Hwang/Yunsung and/or Lizardman

  • Rock

  • Setsuka

  • Viola

  • Z.W.E.I.

  • Other: Abyss, Algol, Dampierre, Elysium, Leixia, Li Long, Patroklos, etc.

It actually calls for 21 characters and Tira could be that 21st character. Azwel and Geralt could have seven weapons and Inferno could have two which would total up to 149.

Because Raphael has been revealed before TGS, it may be possible that Hwang and Aeon is in the game but I'm not counting on it. At the very least, their reveal would actually be a big surprise to me if they do reveal them and I wouldn't be too disappointed if they don't because that's what I expect. I wouldn't keep my hopes up if I were you.
 
We don't know that 149 number is from.... what build? Build with Tira's weapons in it? Idk.

And we really don't know if every character has 7, that could have just been preliminary.

This is something we'll only know once we start playing the game...
 
I don't believe the counter includes Tira, since she's DLC, wouldn't be in the build with the rest. As far as seven weapons per character, that just works out because there's not enough for each character to have 8, because that would be 160 for 20 characters, but also the translations I did some pages ago, the museum only had a maximum of seven weapons listed for the few characters shown.
 
We'll find out on Friday/Saturday.

I wonder what else we'll have continuous 360 arguments about after. Maybe post-TGS trailers? Lizardman actually being Lizardwoman?

It's going to be about who is going to be in the Season Pass and who isn't. Or just to drag on the current discussion, it will be about whether or not Hwang and Aeon are the characters in the Season Pass if they don't make it in by launch. I can only imagine the salt levels since there are people who want their characters to be in (mine happens to be Hwang and a new character using Ezio's moveset).

P.S.
Somebody should ask Kayane if she could remove the monkey sticker in her tweet since Raphael has been revealed. If she does then we might get to see a new Raphael concept art and if she doesn't then it means that we could be seeing a new character and that it's time to get hyped!

I would very much like to know who the season pass characters are going to be, myself. It would make for interesting discussion at least.

The only general consensus opinion about the season pass will be that it will have at least one guest character. Even those who don't want anymore guest characters believe this to be the case. Many believe this guest to be 2B due to popular demand. For the most part, many also believe Setsuka and or Hilde will be in this pass as well.

As for my prediction, if Hwang and Aeon doesn't make it into the game at launch then I think it will be them that is DLC since leaks suggest that work has been done on them and it would be a massive waste of resources to not release them at all. This is of course a very unpopular opinion since they aren't too popular and there are many who want their favorite character in this game.

But assuming that Hwang and Aeon are in, then my guess is that we will see Setsuka and Hilde as part of the first season pass since they have the most unique fighting styles from characters introduced before SoulCalibur V. Just like Anna in Tekken 7, Cassandra and Yun-Seong are likely to headline Season 2 if the game is successful enough.
 
They should reveal the season pass soon seeing as they have pretty much nothing left to maintain hype.

I dont think Aeon, Hwang or Rock are making the roster now. Not even DLC. I think the "work" done with them amounts to story mode CAS stand-ins using Sophie's, Xiangua's and Astaroth's movelists respectively. Originally, i thought they wouldn't skip out on the Dao but now it looks as if they are in fact doing that.

I doubt these characters are making DLC for the simple reason of money, they simply just lack the popularity and i'm sure PS and Namco are fully aware of this. They wont pass up the opportunity to put characters that WILL make them money just because of them.

The easy top priority DLC characters are Cassandra and Setsuka but lately i'm wondering if they are possibly going to opt for more than one guest instead. Most fans of the series wont like that idea but it will more efficiently pull in players and turn better profits.

Would LOVE this but it ain't happening. A more realistic possibility is if they gave Edgemaster several weapons similar to Ezio and thus his own moveset rather than copying everyone else.

I believe by "dancing partner" he means Raphael's opponent. I guess the saying goes is that Raphael will make his enemies dance to the tune of his sword. Just a figure of speech.

Some bad news for you if Vergeben is to be believed. Lizardman (hopefully Aeon), Hwang, and Guest Character 2 are quite likely to be the characters in the season pass. While you are right in that they lack popularity you assume that Namco actually wants this game to succeed.

So with the recent news its looking like to Hwang, Lizardman and a guest character either 2B or Fire Emblem character (girl)
