Soulcalibur VI General Roster Speculation Thread

SoulCalibur VI: which 3 characters do you most hope for?

  • A brand new character

  • Amy

  • Cassandra

  • Hilde

  • Hwang/Yunsung and/or Lizardman

  • Rock

  • Setsuka

  • Viola

  • Z.W.E.I.

  • Other: Abyss, Algol, Dampierre, Elysium, Leixia, Li Long, Patroklos, etc.

I’m inclined to believe that, the evidence already spoiled for us so far, Tira actually was base roster delegated to on-disc DLC; one of the caveats for this is whether or not they’re speaking truth about her soul chronicle not being finished in time for the game’s release. This will only be proven if datamining occurs and unveils anything else that would prove she isn’t just a cheap cashgrab (more than she already is, at least.) The other characters, on the SP, however, I have faith that they’re actually not on the disc and they’re diligently being worked on for a polished release in the future.

According to Hayate there was a "lizardman" moveset that wasnt exactly a clone of Sophie but it still had her poses. So in otherwords its like a half-assed Lizardman of sorts, still not different enough from Sophie to be considered its own character i guess. The bad news with that is now we can probably guess Hwang and Lizardman are the SP characters. I dont think that is a good idea on Namco / Bandai's part.

Yeah, Tira, Hwang, Lizardman, and guest/Setsuka is a somewhat weak Season Pass and smells of strong-arming from higher-up business executives. The only potential good side to that is if they planned to release this content in 6 months and then start Season 2 after those 6 months.

I am still holding out for Hwang to be announced before the game drops. Then again, I was thinking about it and I can't see the fan favorites other than maybe Cassandra being on the season pass. Hilde and Setsuka aren't really relevant even though it's a reboot. I think maybe Amy/Viola will make it. It will probably be Hwang, Cassandra, and Amy. That's my bet.
 
Assuming Hwang and Lizardman on DLC, that is nothing short of disaster. The leaks have effectively killed them. Its like..

"Ok everyone, here is the roster.
Waitaminuteholdup, not those two.
Ok HERE is the roster, those other two are DLC."

That is some epic disappointment right there. They had better knock the ball straight out of the park with whoever this guest is. 2B isn't even relevant enough, it should be someone no one is expecting, fits well with the series and has a really cool moveset without annoying a lot of people.

Plus the person would need to be CaSable after Geralt at this point. Especially if Lizardman and Hwang were all they had to offer otherwise.

Agreed. While I would be excited for 2B, there are better and more interesting choices out there, even more females. Either a tv show or a game that is coming out soon. One thought from a game coming out soon that popped into my head (that I would not like) is Sora or anyone from KH.

They could also get the hype out with a new character that is really cool. Azwel for example got a lot of praise.

I like this group for a DLC, but I really think it's up to Project Soul how much they want to emphasize unique fighting styles. 3 characters that overlap a bit with existing styles might be too much for DLC Season 1.

I'd refund my game if sora got announced... Like why him over Aqua the literal best character in KH
 
We really have no proof of anyone being DLC. The only ones who seem incredibly likely are Cassandra, Setsuka and Yun Seong because they are the cut veterans from last few games. Everything else is speculation.

Lizardman might not be DLC. The cas race might be his only hurrah in SCVI. Same for Hwang. His portrait/story cameo could be all that was intended for him and Edgemaster.

We only have Vergeben's "leak" but he himself does not seem very confident. He was wishy washy with the info.

Day One Patch or Season Pass cut DLC = Hwang and Aeon. Well which one is it? It obviously won't be a patch, Namco doesn't give away free characters.

Until vergeben comes back with more confident info or someone else leaks then we have no idea who they will announce sadly :(
 
I'm myself would be pretty satisfied with Aeon + Hwang DLC (if that'll be the case), but financially that's going to be a failure.
Most poeple are waiting for Setsuka/Cassandra/Amy/HIlde and would be pretty disappointed if they weren't in DLC.
Though I still think that DLC would be Hilde, Aeon or Setsuka, Guest (which is all but confirmed, I've accepted that there is no escape from this. I just hope it would be as good as Geralt).
