SoulCast #14: Mitsurugi

Second on my list of characters is one you will see very often in tournaments: Mitsurugi. For this episode, I managed to get some time with Mateo_Galvan, a name many know but someone who doesn't often do interviews.

Arguably the best Mitsu in the States, and possibly the world, he rarely posts in strategy forums, sticking mainly to event threads, so you know you're in for something special. Enjoy!

I wouldn't count RTD out, but Mateo did beat him head to head at EVO. Plus RTD was elsewhere when everybody else was playing FT5s, so he had the opportunity if he wanted to be known as the best Mitsu, unless there's some other criteria for determining so.

Definitely would love to see Akire vs Mateo though or some type of round robin if they want to all meet at the same tournament.

if by head on you mean getting lucky with sidestep in the lasdt round ok. I dont thnk RTD is any weaker than any of us actually.

I don't think RTD is any weaker at all. I just don't consider him someone who exclusively mains Mitsu.

In talking about RTD vs Mateo EVO match

 

I didn't see that match. Plus 2/3 for this game is silly anyway (and why so many people were mad salty when they lost at EVO such as yourself), so if being the best Mitsu was something that RTD was interested in which personally I don't think he is, then he could have found the rest of us and played a FT5 with either of you.

And from my experience, I just see him use the character that best fits his playstyle instead of sticking with one character with each game and become a specialist, which is why I don't have him in this discussion on who the best Mitsu is. What he does have is tournament results though.

Sidestepping moves means you got lucky? I thought it meant you had a good read on your opponent. That's kind of a retarded statement to make giving no credit where credit is due.

If your a good mitsurugi player thats true however getting hit by 4B is unlucky.

 

I just didnt like akire's play style at all. And as for me vs RTD, I have a bit of an edge. And belial thats why I said your mitsu is better than me. Your mitsu is much more well rounded and you have more knowledge of the character.

After this comment I would think the salt towards this man would stop. It takes a big man to say this even after beating someone.

There is no salt from me. I am just an asshole, you should have gotten used to it by now.
I dont care if someone says Im best Mits, Im long past this petty "pride" bullshit. All I want is win majors like EVO, sadly, Im not good enough to even make top8, so if I am not a good player I will not search excuses at "being the best character rep" - this is for suckers.
