Super High-Level In Your Face TIERLIST!!!

I know I'm late 2 da partay but, seriously, I can't find any tierlist (das not a wurd lol) thread that I can post in and I never got to share my opinion. If possible, I want this to be a discussion because I want to talk about everyone's perspective and actually like to hear this stuff (so, if we can, no close, please). I mean, I know people get angry for whatever reason but that's just another spice of life, right?

I'd like it if, rather than posting you guyseses own that you criticize mine. Now, I understand that might not always be the case but I'd at least like for the topic to start off that way so that I can give a chance to give some reasoning. But, please, be direct in your criticism and questioning; it's much harder to answer the question, "Why is *X* here?" as opposed to answering, "Why is *X* here and not here?" or "Why is *X" here instead of *Y*?"

I'm being 100% serious when I say this but, were you high when you posted this?

If you were serious when you posted this, explain why NM and Asty are top tier, why Mitsu, Algol, Ivy, and Natsu are in the same tier as Leixia, ZWEI, and Damp, and why Xiba, Sieg, Maxi, Yoshi, and Voldo are in the same tier as Viola and Cervy.

 

This thread has the most interesting divide between insightful/informative posts, and downright crazy nonsense. Juxtaposition is a wonderful thing.

That said, the best posts in this thread already happened.

As an observation, I find less experienced players tend to overrate Nightmare and Astaroth, and tend to underrate normal Pat and Tira, forget about Cervy, and assume the gaps between the tiers are huge gulfs necessitating 5 tiers of difference. 4 of them is pushing it imo, H/M/L tier is enough for this game.

Honestly, out of all the characters I listed as top, I believe Mitsurugi is probably the 'fairest' of them all.

Rather intresting, I would like to know why you think Mitsu could be broken? (I don't disagree as a matter of fact I think similar) Viola is obviously broken, but Mitsu is something to discuss about.

 

I think lots of people here just throw the term broken around pretty ridiculously. Nu in the first BB was broken; Hilde in SC4 was broken; Akuma in whatever Street Fighter 2 iteration that was was broken. By contrast, there was no broken character in MvC 2 or 3, Eddie in GG was not broken, and neither Ivy nor Amy were broken in SC4.

And I think it's stupid to start a discussion with someone you agree with. We aren't the Klan. I mean, seriously... This is what it seems like to me:

Yoda was the only broken character in SC4, or at least I never had trouble against a Hilde player.

 

Tira can't be top, nothing that depends on luck can have an S tier, but she is really good, A for me.

Yeah, be quiet. Yoda was ass no matter who your opponent picked. Yoda was so ass that you could practice the game for months and we could meet at a tournament without me playing SC4 in who knows how long and I'd still beat that ass.with whoever I picked.

Is there a reason to be so agressive against another user? Could you just disagree in a more respectful manner?

 

Tira is good, I always get happy when my Elysium mimics her style, but I don't see her as the "strongest female" of the game (let's forget about viola for a moment), while there are a lot of better established characters like both Pyrrhas or Natsu

 

I didn't say Yoda was overpowered, "overpowered" and "broken" are two different concepts so I don't see why you are trying to explain me how bad Yoda was, I already know that thank you. ♡

Both 4B and 2KB get punished by every character's hardest punish if they read it. There is no, "I'm just going to throw this out."; it's, "I'm going to throw this out and, if it doesn't connect, I might be losing 50% + getting mixed up."

Tira takes off damn near half life from one of the best launchers in the game, has one of the best supers in gloomy, has some of the best spacing tools, has no weak range, and is pretty safe.

There is no other way to go about that. I am sorry. You cannot compare the unarguably best and worst characters in that game in such a manner. As I said back in my response to Idle, I'm being rather cordial (I feel) and trying to educate everyone but the fact is that everyone here is not on the same level and some people are putting their thoughts with much more certainty than even some of the best players in the world that we have here.

I like to being an idealist but I'm also a grown up; everyone can have an opinion but not everyone's opinion should be valued. Sorry if I had to be a bit blunt with Ixy.

I figured you wouldn't and I think the second part was for me so I'll reply. The things you have to realize about those attacks are:

1) They are two very good attacks when used properly.
2) They are HEAVILY punished when your opponent defends against them.
3) They are two of Mitsurugi's best attacks.

Taken together, this means they are two good attacks with very huge risks involved that, though Mits doesn't necessarily HAVE to use, add a lot to his gameplan.

I am not disagreeing with your assessment cuz you know more about yoshi than i do. My problem is that you(like most people in this thread) are evaluating your character in a vacuum. It cool yoshi can do that stuff but it dosnt matter if a character can counter that all. Im not saying that is the case i am saying we should evaluate characters in relation to one another ie a match up chart instead of just arbitrarily placing names on a list
