T.i.T8 ..... Da Aftermath.

The 2D crowd DOMINATED in a historically 3D major tournament in terms of attendance.
If by "dominated" (in all caps) you mean about even across games... then u'd be correct... Further, you should consider the current state of competitive gaming as a WHOLE (in all caps) before really talking about what this tournament was and wasn't...

Overall, it was a decent event, given the circumstances... And yes attendance was down this year compared to previous years but the comp level was high and the event was unquestionably fun... Although it didn't live up to your idea of what the "good ol' days" were like doesn't mean it was a bad event.

The LORD: Well..it's been fun, but yeah, i really did smack that ass when we ditto'd each other. Lol...didn't think i'd be the SMART amy player huh? heh. oh well, i didn't realize how UNSAFE you would be w/ sophie. lol, oh well. We all make mistakes, but rest assured that will NOT happen again. Besides, you didn't want to ditto me to begin with. that sux man, i really wanted to see how i would fair since i can't stand playing deviljim anyways.
how unsafe I play with Sophie? u must mean attacking at disadvantage cause I really don't use unsafe moves wit her. Anywayz, good shit, but I can't stand playing against Amy, that's why I tried to out-Amy you the first match. I remember that shit too, it pissed me off cause first round 236KK was guaranteed and woulda won the round, but I did 236K by itself and another round I knew you were gonna do a low and I jump attacked it, but it didn't clear the low; that woulda won that round.

Pistons- can you ask your boy what's the name of that first song he had on that team fortress vid again and pm it to me?

AnimeFreak: Dude, you were the worst player there, but yet, you pulled off 4th at a major just because you wanted to eat some food.

Now that's what I call will power!

Don't under estimate the power of the STOMACH. If I make it to nats you will understand this power more so than anyone has ever known. I will come hungry, i will come happy, i will come.........with my OWN CONTROLLER.

yay gogogo hilde.

congrats to all the placers tho. two more weeks, rtd, and caspamdra and lagaroth are coming for your ass.

I'm going to have to agree with ICE on this. The talent pool at TiT was great. Four of the top people in the nation, as well as up-and-coming talent, were present. You almost couldn't ask for better. Attendance to big tournaments as a whole has dropped over the years significantly. There aren't nearly as many dedicated tournament players outside of online play, the games are becoming stale, and console fighters are losing ground to FPS and MMO style games.

Competitive gaming as a whole is deteriorating outside of online events. Remember when arcade tournaments used to attract HUGE numbers? Then games came out on console within months of arcade release, which put a stop to that. In fact, it killed the arcade scene all together. And now with all competitive games going online, why go to big events when you can play the same people online and bullshit with them on the forums? Social interaction as a whole is disappearing in all aspects due to the nature of the internet.

So don't complain. The tournament was great for what it was. I had a blast there, and I wasn't even playing in the tournament, just running the brackets so EP could take care of other things... but then again, when you're hanging out with EP and the goonz, you can't help BUT have fun...

I understood your point. I don't think you were slamming TiT and the people who made it possible at all. I fully agree if people come to a thread and run their mouth about how they are going to own TX, they better show up. There were quite a few things that didn't happen that were completely out of rev/ep/ice's hands. They did their best and from what I see, the quality of players there was great to see.

Oh shoot, my 3 on 3 thing was an expectation? Or we talkin console bball? I wanted to attend but I didnt see it in my teammates eyes. At best we would have had 2 of our 3 players. That wouldve been my highlight since SC4 wouldve been 2 and out for me.

Congrats to the placers, good job on 3rd place Link. Nice job EP and ICE, hope to you all in NM again, peace!

Why do you need the brackets? Can't you just use the results info from the event? The results are what matter when it comes to the ranking latter, right?
Yes, of course, you are right. If you don't have the brackets, then the results are enough (just make sure you submit the tournaments using these guidelines). However, if you DO have the brackets/TIO files, it makes it a TON easier to input the events. I can then input the event with a single click, instead of having to input each player's score manually.
