Ohhhhhhhhkaaaaaaaaaay...... assuming that isn't a joke....... does anybody know a link to a good essay or something that explains what tiers actually represent?

Actually, that was a joke. :P I'm surprised that it took someone this long to say something about it, though. XD.

It's just annoying how people always assume that the person with the "superior" character will always win. Because in reality, it's the better PLAYER that will decide the outcome of the match, not necessarily the character he or she used.
 
Exactly, which is why tiers are there to show what character will win against another assuming the players are both at an equally high level of skill. Of course, this doesn't take specific matchups into account (Which is why charts are more useful, IMHO).
 
i always thought sc4 was fairly well balanced, untill i started using talim. seriously what did she do to namco? even cancelling her ub, it cancels just before it hits making it pointless. the more i play her, i notice theyve made her bad on purpose. i dont get it! i like her taunts and victory quotes though, not even vaguely insulting lol

Well LCT, you have a lot pf balls to use Talim and Mina my friend. I just play 3 chaarcters, and only two of them are condsider mid tier. the other two are low mid. but welcome to the Talim family. Tell me if you have online or not, I'll love to play you sometimes, and exchange ideas.

Sorry bit OT but: You play 3 chars and 2 of them are mid and the other 2 or low mid? :D

Anyway I am more of the match-up charts fan then the tier-list. I think that Talim's biggest issue is range versus some of the characters (Kilik for example).
 
While I get that you're using Kilik for her problems with spacing, but Talim's biggest problem with Kilik is that he can shut down almost all of her options with two moves, wsB and Asura.
 
Asura really isn't a problem for Talim. As I said in the VS thread, a Kilik who spams Asura against Talim doesn't have that much advantage over her. The best way to fight against Talim with Kilik is to stick to his LONG range moves and just keep her out. Yes, those moves are a bit punishable, but how is Talim supposed to punish them? Asura is too much of a close range move to be effective against Talim.
